Absolutely, it will take some time to adjust to this new scheme. I thought they were able to combat in the last 2 games by having either Hart or KAT flash at the key and spray or drive from there. Bridges had a bunch of open mid range shots due to this. This will actually affect Jalen's numbers negatively because he is not scoring and not getting an assist.

Didn't watch last night's game and still finishing Friday's, so I'll start there.

Does it look like to everyone that Brunson looking to adjust his play-making side of things to the [small] detriment of his shot making?

I think this is a good thing, he is still missing too much but well within his learning curve of sorts?

Another poster put this out the other day and I forgot who: Someone like Kolek knows how to pass where the shooter is going, Brunson still needs a target most of the time and passes direct to where a player is at so far (it was in reference to a Huk play). I thought that was good way to put it.

For, it looks like a big part of his problem is that he is not in great shape. His strength is a big part of his game. Right now he looks more like Duhon than last years Brunson. He also looks slower and doesn’t have the same quick first step and burst. The good news is all that is fixable and he is slowly playing himself into form. Also I keep wondering if it’s any coincidence Garland is having a breakout year and Brunson is struggling. I don’t know why Jonny Bryant left but he is probably missed. I keep wondering if Rick Brunson just had a bad relationship with Bryant because he left in a lateral move. It had to be something because he was looking like the heir apparent to Thibs

And boom there it is. The league is investigating Rick Brunson’s promotion into Jonny Bryant’s position as lead assistant. So now we know. Bryant was forced out by Rick who got Bryant’s job and a raise.

With assistants, you don't need to force anyone out to give them a raise. You just give them a raise and then no one cares besides Adam Silver who wants to give it to Dolan some for his NBA league revenue complaints.

Bryant was waiting around for Thibs to keel over and Thibs got an extension, so better pastures? Plus, he close with Donovan.

Occam's Razor my dude, don't even need to hunt around for a conspiracy theory that fits.

I don't think you want to argue Bryants resume vs Rick Brunson's. The lifestyle in Cleveland vs NYC. Im not searching for anything, it's right there in the NY Post. Is it also not a coincidence Brunson was named Captain?

The Knicks didn't even need to do any of it without Bryant going. He could have stayed and all of these thing still would or could have happened.

I think this is nothing burger. If you look at Rick's past relationship with Thibs and his past as a player/coach, I don't think it's out of the question that Rick gets elevated to lead assistant. I'll post the Wikipedia entries for both. As we saw with Randle/Donte trades, Leon isn't here to make friends. As for the reason Bryant left? Who knows?
