The plus stats both on defense and overall are insane. And as far as raw counting stats, this is what I expect from him full time. I wouldn’t want to just dump Barrett, but part of me would want to move him and bring Quickley into the starting lineup while moving Grimes to SF. It’s a little small but the fit would be great. The key is replacing his production off the bench.

This kid literally does it all, seems to be still improving, and much like Brunson only seems to care about winning

Cause his athleticism doesn't match what our eye test wants to see? I'm guessing that's it for me too. We expect something to bounce in the video and it doesn't happen cause he is using more BBall IQ than anything.

Feel like IQ's ball handling was one of the last things he needed to sharpen to get to this next level and it has shown out nicely

that's 100% it. He's not physically forcing his way, he's using skill. He's got decent length and quickness. More than Brunson for example.

Just dickin' around with Basketball References player comparisons and decided to do IQ versus Herro and Jordan Poole. He more than holds his own ,he just doesn't get the same minutes to compile stats. Because of that he probably won't touch the $30 Million a year they're getting. But I think Jalen Brunson money is more than reasonable. Maybe slightly less if they're lucky.

I think he's got to have a good playoff series to cement a 20mm+. If he plays like he did in game 1+2 we probably get bounced

Gotta be careful with that. That's the same reasoning that caused the Mavs to lose Brunson.

IQ was starting to figure out in game 2 that the Cavs were going to trap him. Because he uses his dribble to pick apart opposing defenses so well. I expect IQ to look for his shot more. More quick release, off the dribble.

When IQ starts hitting them, he should have an easier time getting around the court. Im more concerned about RJ. He's falling back on bad habits offensively.

I kinda want IQ to get his ass handed to him in the playoffs. I personally think the Knicks have long odds to win a title this year. Knowing that, and knowing how hard IQ works in the gym, I kinda want his proverbial teeth kicked in. There is nothing about IQ that resembles being a mental midget, and what hardens better than fire? I saw some plays where IQ did not look confident bringing the ball up the court. I am not going to ask him to be Steve Nash.. but please don't look like Bambi with the ball in your hands..

IQ got it going when game was out of reach, but he got it going.
IQ when he is on looks like he is having a blast and dancing. ITs nice, but playoff ball is different. Only player I saw get away with that over time was Mark Jax and then Steph Curry.
Playoffs you gonna see that team again and again and its a different animal.
I'd give RJ some excuse but he has looked awful the last few weeks.
IQ vs. Clev does look like a bit of a regression to what he worked thru. In part, if the shot is not falling he is not confident. True for all players.

Not winning 6 man award and coming in second according to beat writers, could be the motivation IQ needs.

its not regression is regular season vs. playoffs and the best defense in the league. IQ has 4 regular season games vs. Cle and they are not great totals either. Cle literally has the best D in the league. Need to go back to game 1 and work the boards and not turn it over. Cle is not the team to rediscover your offense against, but we CAN grind out wins

They're trapping IQ, not giving him time to read the defense, making him give up his dribble, turn the ball over.

Its when he's deciding between passing and shooting. I'd like to see Quick go into SG mode when he senses the trap and let her rip. He's deadly with quick release shots, off the dribble.

We need more of that part of his game. Will give the defense fits. The rest of his game should follow.

I don't know the strategy for defeating a double sent is to shot it.

I think back to MJ and how we would double him and he would just draw the defenders away from the basket and pass to a teammate.

Hopefully Thibs can get our guys focused and set up to exploit what Cleveland is going to try to do against us.

I think IQ just needs to be decisive whether it's pass or shot. He's in no man's land right now.

Its a cliché , but true that things happen faster in the playoffs. IQ is used to keeping his dribble, and waiting for a seam in the defense to appear. Cavs arent giving him the time. Agree that IQ has to be more decisive, he also needs to make quicker decisions.

The last time I saw a team defend IQ like this was the Sac game, and he had no answer. He's got to anticipate this strategy, and beat them to the punch. Shooting or passing.

IQ may want to show up the rest of this series.

In 7 playoff games at 18 MPG.

Shooting 30/29/73 - with 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 6 points —— damn that is bad so far.

He's been surprisingly invisible the first two games, but lumping in his rookie numbers is kind of silly.
