I guess a signing of Allen from the Cavs is very possible to replace mitch. This can be a very competitive starting 5. In this scenario i think its better to keep all 4 draft picks to fortify the bench. It might not be a bad plan but I do think RJ can reach close to the height/status of both Dame or Beal. Is the trade worth getting a 5 year championship window? Or is it better to stay on the current path and build a long term contender the way the warriors did it?

Offer Julius and a couple picks straight up for Lillard.

That's like trading Lebron for Wade..The purpose is to add an additional star, no swap them..

On the low if he stays I think they are even more competitive next year.

A core of Kawhi, PG, and Reggie might give them the identity to build around. So far they have been this really talented duo and a bunch of good roleplayers, but I think these days teams need more of a clear focus/synergy between the core and the roleplayers to win. The day of the big 2 or 3 arms race might over. The team has to be constructed to win.

Heart warming stuff right there. I'm glad he's found a home in LA.

Every time someone mentions the Knicks signing Kelly Oubre Jr. I throw up in my mouth a little. I don't see him as a winning player.

Good for Reggie, Do you think he gets offered a 60 million 3 year deal? Tough to say no to that.

Aligned on this. No reason for bringing / paying a 31 year old Lillard as your "Batman" without keeping Randal as the "Robin". In addition, I'm for Lillard only if RJ is not part of the package and the picks that go back are spread out over a number of years instead of giving all our picks for this year.

I don't know what team has the cap space to offer him $20M, give or take it's down to Spurs, Knicks, OKC, Mavs and I don't see any of those teams offering that much.

i can still envision Reggie as a Knick. Guy still has athleticism, a 7' wingspan, can drive and shoot, plus he's not a dummy

at least in the past he has been inconsistent, and there are lurking injury concerns, but i think he checks a lot of boxes and huge improvement over status quo

I know the clippers are still hurting and news of players returning or leaving will be a couple of weeks out. For me the dream of bringing in a superstar free agent is still alive until Kahwi decides topicks up his player option or not.

Im still praying for a knick team next year that features Mitch, Randle, Kahwi, RJ and (Lonzo/Graham/Nunn/lowrey).

We won't loose a promising player like RJ, there is a chance to sign a capable young point guard. If only a miracle happens and Kawhi can see an opportunity to come play in the garden, I have a feeling his star will shine brighter than Durant the moment he wears the orange and blue. I know not a single media person has talked about this, im fine with it, i dont want them to jinx it! 😂

Say we moved RJ in a Beal trade.

Would we in theory / reality be able to also add a Lowry & Oubre? Maybe 2 for $50m for Lowry and 4 for $60m for Oubre —- not sure if those are realistic #s.

Lowry
Beal
Oubre
Randle
Mitch

I’ve always been a fan - think we could be buying him on the low. He brings high end athleticism, D and for most of his career solid 3 point shooting. Just hint as a 3rd or 4th wheel he would be an explosive option that Thibs might be able to squeeze max out of.

Mavs could get desperate if THJ bolts to Miami. But, even then, the annual threshold is more than $10M. It doesn't make sense for any team to offer $20M when $15M, or even lower, could do the trick.

Mavs with Doncic and Brunson will maybe go after a SG if THJr leaves? Spurs got tons of wings. OKC got SGA and Theo and gimpy knee guy

Maybe. But desperate teams do desperate things and the Mavs are under some pressure. Let's say THJ does bolt, tho I don't think he will, and Fournier re-signs with Boston. They may decide that Reggie and another defensively inclined wing is enough to replace THJ's production. Maybe they decide to go cheap with someone like Burks? Maybe they get really desperate and throw a Hail Mary contract at Oladipo? I'm just throwing out scenarios. We won't get clear picture of anything until after the draft. I will say that I think the Fournier deal will set the pace for what a lot of middle class guys can expect and that Dennis Schroeder is destined to be disappointed this off-season.

How about a trade with OKC

SGA for both picks, Toppin, Quickly?

Gives us the best young backcourt know the league to pair with Randle and Mitch…

Why would Kawhi leave? Lawrence Frank moved everyone not named Patrick Beverly to rebuild the Clippers in Kawhi's image. That level of sycophancy is rare.

My thinking is that the Clippers will offer him their full MLE starting at 10 million over 3 years, so 30 million. Reggie has found a family there so to pry him away would take more; he isn't Jerami Grant trying to punch up a level. Of the teams with space, only Knicks look like a reasonable fit, because of the Aaron Mintz/ Leon Rose connection. If the Knicks want to spend around 20 million on an Elfrid replacement, they will have plenty of choices: Lowry, Schroeder, Dinwiddie, Jackson on down. Maybe Reggie is the best fit, but I am not sure.

Too many available FA point guards for the Knicks to consider trading all that youth. Free agent x + those guys > SGA.

The Los Angeles Clippers will have Early Bird Rights on Reggie Jackson, but his play in the playoffs may make him unaffordable due to cap restraints.

"This year was my best year," said Jackson, who averaged 18.1 points and 41.5% 3-point shooting in the postseason entering Game 6.

"First thing I told these guys was thank you for saving me," he said. "I appreciate every guy in that locker room. I appreciate Paul for getting on that phone last year, at the end the season -- [when I] was talking a buyout with Detroit.

"I'm thankful for everything I've experienced being here; this city making me feel at home. This organization welcoming me, my quirks, my strengths, my weaknesses; I wonder if I would still be playing without this team."

OHM YOUNGMISUK/ESPN

This makes it sound like he already has a handshake deal somewhere else, no?
