Nah...Griz almost traded Conley this yr...They are taking Ja and will move the aging Conley

They may take Ja, but who is going to take on Conley and that contract? If anything, they'll have to keep both.

Personally, I think there's a drop off from Ja to Barrett. The difference between 2 and 3 was huge in my opinion. Certainly better than 4 or below, but I went into this thinking we HAD to get one of the top two picks.

Barrett's is a player in this league...dude is a bull taking the ball to basket, has a scorer's mentality, has legit 2 guard size and he is left. He is 19 yrs old, plenty of time and hard work and he can improve his shot. He is a much better prospect than all of the dudes behind him. It could be worse....

Despite the 3rd pick we were real freaking lucky...of the top 4 picks...Lakers moved up 7 spots....Memphis and NO moved up 6....we dropped 2,..crazy

Anyone who shares the rock as much as DSjr does, given his athleticism, and ability to get to the rim, almost at will. Is a smart player. Players out there with Smith jr's athletic ability who are much happier calling their own number, like Kyrie.

Smith isnt a finished product, but you talk like he's been in the league so long that any improvement in his game is a longshot. Most dynamic PG we've had in decades, and you want to ship him out in spite of some big games, and a cap friendly contract. Dont see the rush, thats how you end up trading players before you know for sure what they can do for the team.

Forgot you love basketball players in a 3 point league that cant shoot

Barrett's is a player in this league...dude is a bull taking the ball to basket, has a scorer's mentality, has legit 2 guard size and he is left. He is 19 yrs old, plenty of time and hard work and he can improve his shot. He is a much better prospect than all of the dudes behind him. It could be worse....

I'm relieved - could have been better, could have been worse.

I really wanted Zion or Ja, but you look at what happened to the Bulls and sun's and it could have been a lot worse.

For me this pick raises a lot of questions - will the Griz go for Ja or RJ (probably Ja), could we trade up with them? If the pelicans can't persuade AD to stay would they do a trade around the third pick and reunite Zion and RJ? Or will RJ turn out better than he's hyped to at the moment?or do we trade down with the lakers (I still like DeAndre Hunter)?

Hmm, lots of uncertainty until draft night

Personally, I think there's a drop off from Ja to Barrett. The difference between 2 and 3 was huge in my opinion. Certainly better than 4 or below, but I went into this thinking we HAD to get one of the top two picks.

I don't necessarily disagree, but let me take the other side. Ja played AAU ball with Zion. Yet it seems like Ja came out of nowhere. Late bloomer? Idiot scouts? Maybe he tore up a weaker conference a la Jimmer?

This is why I stopped watching the games. We have such hard luck and now we are once again ready to trade away our prospects. When I think of Houston I think of the Knicks because no matter how good Houston is they will always have to get pass the Golden State just like us and MJ and the Bulls.

The New York Knicks receive a 2021 unprotected first-round pick and 2023 top-10 protected first-round pick after the Mavs did not make it into top-5 of the NBA Draft. The Kristaps Porzingis trade already paying off for the Knicks.

I like Morant a lot and would be happy with him but he did play weaker competition compared to RJ and Zion. That doesnt mean he wont be as good or better but its something to remember
