No doubt years of losing has made KP unhappy and now he got his wish. Never was a big fan of his.

I have to agree with you for some reason he felt like he was privileged. Accomplished nothing besides he had already been influenced by Melo.

In fairness to Melo(and i admit im not a huge melo fan) he never pulled the **** KP and Janis have done. Hell he even went to the exit meeting with Phil despite probably hating him lol

He pulled that with Denver.

SAS saying he's hearing Kyrie is not so keen on staying in Boston and it's a "smokescreen."

Saying Ainge also more into AD than giving Kyrie a max deal

Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...

I am starrting to like the trade now with two firsts

We have cap space
We have picks
Star players for whatever reason like Fiz
As long as we don't **** up this draft we could be reloaded quickly

A potential superstar who has trouble staying on the court, hasnt made an all-star team. Still had work to do on rounding out his game. Whose shelf life as a star might be limited because of his height, frame. I dont blame KP for wanting to leave, he probably has only so many years at peak performance. Didnt like how he let his brother run his mouth as much as he did.

We get DSJ. If he can play well enough to make an all-star team, and run the show, its worth it.
Dont know how long the other players will stick, or of they are even in the team's plans. Like that we got Matthews though.

If we get a high pick, I trust Perry to make a good one. If we have two high picks, when was the last time we had that? Never. I like that. One more shot at Zion.

This is the kind of deal, as others have mentioned that has to be followed up with big time FA signings if the Knicks want to make a run in the next couple of years. We have youth, picks, cap room. The table is set, up to Perry amd Mills to cook up something good.

Glad to see you back...

Problem is those are several years away. Their 2019 is top 5 protected or it goes to the hawks. So the earliest we can get one is for 2021, possibly 2022 if they get lucky in the draft and end up with a top 5 (possible with the new odds).

... and now what can the Knicks do to unload Wes and DeAndre to playoff teams looking to move deadweight expirings and some 2nd round picks

That is true. Steep price though, because Porzingis was the first time in many years the Knicks had drafted a possible future star.

Thing to remember is, cap space is just cap space. Depending on free agents wanting to team up is a dangerous proposition, as 2010 showed us.

KP is gonna sign a QO so the Mavs have a lot of pressure on them to convince KP to stay. Adding the 2 firsts makes this a much better deal

I could be wrong, but I don’t think it can be due to the rule that you can’t trade your first two years running (if they gave us this years, they couldn’t fulfill their commitment to give next years to the hawks)

I'm in the minority here...If we tale a step back and stop and let the initial shock wear off and we shed the woah-is-me attitude, its a good move for us. We are no where as close to the situation as Perry and Mills, but even we could tell something was up with KP and hi Bro dating back to when he skipped the exit interview...His instagram post that went at Fiz was uncalled for and I think management knew it was a long shot that he would re-sign. Look how fast he informed Dallas he would re-sign? also, I'm concerned about KP's health long term...

Love the Draft picks we received, the cap space and a young, explosive pg in Smith. Not sure what we do with Jordan. We cant let him and Matthews mess up our draft order that we worked so hard for...Again, I'm a fan of the trade.

What idiot agent has their player who’s just off an ACL tear, settle for the QO rather than sign an extension, just so he can feel important.

Can they trade DeAndre and Wes this season before Feb 7?
