That's the trade with Frye's expiring going to PHX.

My dream of Kyrie becoming a Knick might come true after all.

Then again he will probably wind up in San Antonio

If you could flip our 1st round pick (8th overall) this year for a 25 year old Kyrie you do it and start doing back flips!

I'll trade melo oquinn and Kuz. If no good find better

Unrestricted picks is a no no but Frank? Even if frank develops into anything in 4-5yrs he will never be Kyrie.

KP & Kyrie. Will, Hardaway & Baker.
Love it!

I think Perry is looking to keep Nitty and Willy. Now Future Picks I can see him moving. It sounds like a repeat of past mistakes but in this case I prefer sending a future pick rather than depleting the roster of Core Young Talent.

Take Frank out of the equation because im not sure we can trade him in July....with that said, we have never done this before..trading picks for Curry aint the same has moving a pick for Kyrie. Kyrie is a 25 yr old champion who in most peoples eyes was the finals mvp. When did we ever trade for a player like that before?

This is where Mills and Perry prove their worth. Do they starphuck yet again and drain us of assets, or do they play this right and take Irving for Melo + spare parts (Lee, KOQ, Mindy, etc.)? Every single time we are on the path to a youth rebuild, we muck it up. My main concern is if Kyrie - who wants to be 'the man', and does not want to play with one of the greats - turns into a Melo-Rose 2.0 ball stopping ME player. WE're trying to build a TEAM here!
The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

Well Marbury was all star game MVP with the Nets that one year. Melo probably was too!

Kyrie was great because of LBJ. Carmelo will be great with LBJ??????????? Kuz and Oquinn with MELO puts them back on the map.

Melo has that NCAA pedigree and one good playoff run in Denver.

Both guys are gifted scorers, that don't play defense. At this stage in their careers, Kyrie is the obvious choice and a better fit for this team moving forward.

Agree, but not sure why we would want Kyrie to start with? Another ball dominant PG who takes a pass on defense. Ok so if we can trade Melo to Cle and get him, then we are replacing Melo with a younger healthier version of him. We don't seem to learn that this doesn't work. Kyrie will not let KP bee the center of the offense, what's the point?

I'd be concerned if we didn't already have KP in place. You don't build a team around 8th picks. Knicks should know.

Worst case scenario it blows up and we luck out in the lottery this time. And become a triple threat team that's young and still growing to its full potential.

We already blew yet another chance to build a contender through the draft alone. The key is to put together a talented young championship caliber core.

Can't compare Kyrie to Melo. That's an insult to Kyrie who never revolted against his head coaches and teammates the way Melo has.

Kyrie is is good kid. Now Melo is too but Kyrie is smart. A Dukie and a coaches son.

You have to give to get...Melo can walk nxt summer and all the cavs wii hqve to show fir the trade is Lee and KOQ? Or we can pass on trading for a 25 yr old champion and one of the best players in the league and hope and pray that we draft a player that can accomplish half of what Kyrie has already accomplished. And if we dont, rinse and repeat try to draft him again next yr...because hope is always better than a sure thing

How about this in principle, with pieces to make it work...

CLE get Melo, + LA pick from Celts
CELTS get Irving
KNICKS get Tatum plus contracts to make it work

The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

Exactly I've been vehemently against trading any pick for other teams cast-offs. Kyrie is no cast-off and Frank is a #8 not #1-2

Lebron and Kyrie needed each other to win that ring. When the games were on the line, Kyrie was taking and making those shots. Kyrie is a dog, the exact kind of player you need in todays game. What if Melo walks next summer? Cavs need more than KOQ and Kuz...thats laughable...a 1st round pick shouldnt be a deal breaker to prevent us from getting one of the best players in the game. Dude is only 25! He is younget than Isiah, Kemba, Lillard, etc....and he was damn near finals MVP. We are nit getting Kyrie in next years draft...

And are considering adding Derrick Rose and a leader in Lebron who admittedly has one foot in LA ready to bolt if the Cleveland roster remains as presently constituted. Great once in a lifetime player but probably the biggest douche in NBA history

Hold up! Kyrie just requested a trade!!!
