This Lin worship is pathetic. One more time; Lin didn't want to be here. He didn't come back in the playoffs. He took his matched contract to be altered. Once again; Lin didn't want to be here
Lin had no say in if he could leave or stay. That is the nature of restricted contracts. The Knicks had the option to sign him and they chose not to. I can not blame a person who was one month from being out of the league for getting as much money as he can.
If you recall. Lin's contract from Houston was matched. It was agreed at that point, that he had a three year contract with the Knicks. Lin took that contract BACK TO Houston, who then added the poison pill, pushing the luxury tax and the third year way up. Nobody was going to match that contract after a fifteen game tryout. He is where he wanted to be. A footnote to all this is that Houston is desperately trying to trade him so that the third year poison pill doesn't come back to bite them in the ass.
