i take issue with there not being a set play to try first. we had tons and tons of time.

locker room interview he smiled and said "this one's on me" several times. this admission is about all he could muster which is better than nothing but you just wish that instead of a smile that he was a bit more angry.

In his defense, he was probably smiling because he was imagining himself in purple and gold next year playing next to Kobe.

Even when Melo admits fault, you still find something to knock him for. Smiling? I'm a teacher, and I've seen a handful of students over the years who smile when they are getting reprimanded by me. The smiling is a defense mechanism that some people use when they are embarrassed, upset, angry, at a lost for words, etc.

I remember watching plenty of interviews with Magic and Isiah back in the 80's where they smiled after tough losses while answering tough questions. It was obvious to me that they was fury behind those smiles.

he was not being reprimanded and to my knowledge he has never admitted fault since losing in a knick uniform. and you ought to know that the nature of a defense mechanism is to not fully absorb the impact of situation.

Dont know why I bothered. Its pointless to try and have an objective discussion about Melo with you because your view is so biased and skewed against him. The man just said, "This one is one me," when clearly, the pic shows that Foye hit him on the arm, and still you say he never admitted fault? He didn't bitch and complain about the refs, he claimed fault and you still find reason to knock him...smh Its lose/lose with you....

this entire post is a defense mechanism. i pointed out the fundamental errors in your response and instead of your admitting errors i get a personal attack along the lines of the "you're too biased to be rational." check your ego. admitting error is not a sign of weakness.

the pic doesn't show he was hit on the shooting arm-- foye's block was all ball on the left hand side of the shooter's ball away from melo's shooting hand. do you see how much room there is for a defender's left hand to get the ball?

when you look at this video from overhead at :17 you see a great defensive play where foye gets a finger on the ball which is all that's needed. you will also see that melo's shooting hand had full follow-through.

maybe he does, but not in those late game situations where guys are actually amping up the defense, I just haven't seen it.......what happened to getting closer and trying to get to the hoop? Not a fan of that shot.. and not a fan of running the clock down to tie a game, should have shot earlier to extend the game in the event he missed..

listen you're right-- if he wanted to take any shot with almost no time left then it should have been one in the lane where he could at least draw contact and a foul. as it is i hate these phuck!ng clearouts of his i don't care how much shorter the defender is.

but the biggest issue is wasting all that time to take any shot at all, be it spinning to a baseline fadeaway or into the lane. either way his decision-making is deplorable. postgame hahn pointed out that melo is 1-15 in endgame clutch situations, all jumpshots. crazy bad.

you have reading comprehension issues. i said it was refreshing to hear him admit responsibility for once but i wished he would be more serious about the situation.
