After that lets take a look. We are playing with fire with our thin non offensive FC.

We have a C with NO offensive game we have Amare who cannot play more than 24 minutes and we have no idea how long he will hold up. Weve played carmelo out of position and while he can do that for parts of game--he will wear down. Its rare to find a 6-11 F with this mans offensive skills so late in the draft. You can find 6-6 SG in the D league--you can bring over 6-8 foreign players you can find sf's but baby 6-11 skill post players DO not grow on trees(either draft trade or free agency). Look at his skills he has an array of advanced post moves and an outside shot to 24 feet. When he is physically a finished product--he will be an inside outside monster. The ONLY reason why he is NOT top 5 is that 15 pounds they didnt physically train him right at Bucknell. And still he was the leading rebounder in the nation. We have a chance to solidify the 4 spot for 12 years--take your leverage and do it. I believe we can find a high quality PG in the 2nd round. The two hardest positions to find--a skilled big man and a quality PG--I believe we have the ability to do it. I wish I had the opportunity to make a few of these calls through the years not for any self adulation--but wed have better teams. Right on this board and the ole NYK I have predicted guys like Mike redd Wade Bosh kaman Stoudemire Bynum Vucevic i even wrote about picking Nate robinson 30 the year we took him 21. But this is an easy one this isnt hard this man has all the skills hes not 7-0 265 like Vucevic or Kaman hes a 4 but hes one heckuva prospect you do not find at 24. Lets add a PF and a PG to our roster--make some other small deals grab the best undrafted SL player and smart NBA minimum vets and lets go. This is a smart conservative pick. At WORST this man is a highly productive player as a third big in a 9 man rotation. At best this is a 20-10 PF for years.

I agree about Mike Muscala but you also lobbied hard for Hasheem Thabeet and BJ Mullens.

I liked Hasheem because Im a Uconn fan. Mullens has shown signs of being a good NBA player. His problem is hes a 5 playing or trying to play 4. And no one is perfect that is for sure!

Let's hope Grunnie has your insight on this one. There are a lot of options at 24, but Muscala has all the tools to become a valuable asset. Think of him as David Lee, with Defense! We have no 1st round pick in '14. Make haste while the sun is shining!

Best rebounder in draft. Think about his rebounding at 245. Best assist big man in draft. Rebounding was a weak point for us. Man who grabs rebound who can pass+fast break and transition points. 2nd best scoring bigman in draft. Low turnover rate. Best shooter at Chicago combine Good shotblocker and 1-1 defedner. We can get him and an attack PG like Mcallum--keep it simple. Both have chances to be really good-but at worst their solid role players--but I do not think that Muscalas ceiling is a role player if he works hard.

Good call. I'm with you 100% on this guy. He's a quality pick at 24, no question. Nbadraft.net has this guy going in the 50s I believe, about 8-10 picks after Ryan Kelly. That's nuts and I actually like Ryan Kelly. He's no Muscala though..Lol

Rebounding wasn't that big of a deficiency for us. Our total rebounding numbers aren't great because we played at a much slower pace than almost anyone else in the league last season but our rebounding rate was really good.

Who do Knicks take and why at 24?

Chad Ford (1:49 PM)

Tough call this late in the draft. Jamaal Franklin has a lot of buzz here. So does Tony Mitchell. I like both players a lot.

WOW @ this offer....

http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/60404/draft-buzz-rockets-shopping-robinson

The Wolves continue to try to move up higher in the draft to land either Victor Oladipo or Ben McLemore. The latest rumbles have them reaching out to the Magic, Bobcats and Suns offering Derrick Williams and the No. 9 and No. 26 picks in return for Orlando's No. 2 pick, Charlotte's No. 4 pick or Phoenix's No. 5 pick

Some rumors are apparently not true....... may have to give :30min worth of time before posting to see if it's rebuffed

Cavs/Pelicans trade rumor has been rebuffed as not true. It didn't look to make sense as reported.

It's a lot to give up but would actually be a good deal for them, as it would be for a team like the Magic.

Hawks have the 47th pick too.

Cant put it past them drafting him high though.

You're right. They have 2 picks in each round. 17th , 18th, 47th, and 50th picks.

Good read on LaMarcus Aldridge's situation....sounds like the guy wouldn't mind being moved.

I think this draft has more talent than led on to believe

nobody wants to touch Perkins contract.

OKC is dreaming no 1 considers Perkins an asset. They were fools for not using the amnesty on him to keep Harden. its going to cost them a Title

Mannnn The Bucks reportedly want J.R. and Copeland.. I'd trade em both for #15 and Draft Kelly Olynyk to play PF for us. #24 Ricky Ledo @SG.. He'll more than replace JR Smith! Somehow try to get a 2nd for point guard, Myck Kabongo.. THAT WOULD BE A TRULY REMARKABLE DRAFT!!!

They can outbid the Knicks so you likely won't get a 1st but you may get a 2nd and a future 2nd to help them keep the price down.

The more I think about it I wouldn't mind making the Pap trade. Maybe they can get for less than a 1st rd pick but if they get Pap and 2 second rounders It would still be a good deal.
