but for us 54 is now we are on top of the mountains
Well it was a fun season. The most exciting in thirteen years and the Knicks were much more competitive. I believe you said you didn't watch them this year or watch them much. Personally I think you missed out on a lot of excitement. I am usually just reading about potential draft picks in April and May.
Fun for us fans definitely. I really enjoyed the hell out of this season especially after having to hear Knicks jokes for years prior but I did have ECF aspirations for this team so it was kind of a let down for me. I can only imagine how the players feel since it seemed like they really believed they could contend.
They were on quite a role in April. After game 3 of the Celtics series everything seemed to fall apart. Anthony's shoulder injury also happened at a horrible time as his April was amazing.
They looked like they recaptured that early season magic in April. Its just that once the playoffs hit, they gradually went further and further away from it. Melos been getting hit with injuries ever since coming here too. I dont know what it was like for him in Denver but even last season along he had like2 or 3 lingering injuries that didnt go away for a while. The season this team is healthy going into the playoffs is the season something big happens.
His last 4 seasons in Denver he missed 17, 5, 16, and 13 games during the regular season. I feel like if he put in more work during the offseason to get in better shape then he wouldn't keep on getting this nagging injuries during the season.
I agree about those seasons. I don't think that was the case this year. He missed time because of Howard's attempt at ending his season. He came into camp in great shape and had a great november/december. There was a lot of speculation that his better fitness level was related to his summer on the olympic team. I think that had a lot to do with it. This year we have to hope that he can work out and stay in shape with his shoulder issue. He maybe months behind in conditioning when camp starts if he has to have surgery.
carmelo isn't devoted enough to winning to put his conditioning as a priority. he needs to lower his body fat percentage a few points and add some lean muscle mass to his core. but that isn't going to happen, and neither are his days of needing to score points at the expense of being a better teammate.
look at parker last night. he is clearly not flagging and is fresh at the end of games. the same used to be true of steve nash. jordan is another obvious example, as is stockton.
if he can't help but try to do it all by himself then he should at least be in supreme shape.
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%
