And when we weren't playing that well the same poll was presented by the "usual suspects"

Gallo is known to be injury prone player , but the love for him to succeed from his faithful here has blinded them to this fact.

2009-10 NY 81

Knicks are still playing NBA basketball Nuggicks are playing golf. We win!

The classless "I told you so" post.
You appear to mistakenly think that I wanted to keep and build around Gallo and company. (Otherwise I can't make sense of your post.)

I think that is pretty much the whole reason this thread still exists. Like revenge posting, well its a slow Monday and I am bored so, guess I'll be guilty of keeping it going :)

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Interesting bump.

Nalod's take this morning: "Iso" Melo trade not worth it. This past season we saw better ball movement and while unintended Melo has his best season because he had a better team around him and ball movement.

If your MSG you love the trade BTW. Its a money maker and like a broadway show build around a star. Its a money maker. Is the show a really good one? Thats subjective.

Did we "win" the trade? We did if you want to believe so. Reverse can be said too.

If its just about "Gallo and Wilson" then the trade was great. If you look at one franchise vs. the other, if you a Knick fan you gonna say we won. Duh.

unless one of the two teams wins a championship in the next few years or, one of those trade pieces brings THAT missing piece that leads to the Championship, then neither wins.

So I wonder if this gets bumped if we win Game 1. Interesting.

We go from 23-win seasons to .600 ball. In the same weak division that Gallo and Co were toiling away losing games by 30 and 40.
We win the division. Not something anyone was hoping for back in Gallo and Wilson days. Even when Stat was well on his way to burning both knees out at both ends.
We finish the season on a 13 game win streak, going 16 and 2! 16 and 2! Say that to yourself.
We get out of the first round, Denver goes home in the first round, without their important bit player. Who'd they lose to? Why, the newest shining one man show in the NBA!

Yes, if you're a Knick fan, or someone with some remedial math skills, and not a piss hardon brought about by a deep Melo loathing, you can say we won the trade.

With a fairly clear conscience. Sure, there's some homerism there, but it's all good fellas.

REVERT TO FORM, BEAT INDY BY 20 IN GAME 2!

We've gone 5-11 in the post-season in the Melo-Amare era. You can't say we won anything right now. Neither team has.

Think the knicks would not have made any other play or that gallo and wilson, with dead knee Amare would be toiling in the 23 win mark for all enternity?

And exactly who was coming to dinner?
Thought the Knicks yoots with IR Stat! were going to suddenly bring us where we are today? We played the games. We watched the games. We won lots of games. And here we are.

Hey Donnie, nice words for someone you were forced to take:

Anthony earned a bit of admiration before the game from Pacers president of basketball operations, Donnie Walsh, who was the GM in New York when Anthony was acquired. "I think he's one of, if not the best player in the game, he's up there with all of them," Walsh said.

"No qualifications like, offensive player. He can do everything. He can defend. He can rebound. He can pass. He's a tremendous player."

I get it. Only one, maybe two chips will put this thread to death. Maybe.
And that's okay.

Donnie is taking "Larry Brown" high road of complimenting the opponent.

"He can do everything. He can defend. He can rebound. He can pass. He's a tremendous player."

I wish he would do more of the other things when the shot is not going.

And exactly who was coming to dinner?
Thought the Knicks yoots with IR Stat! were going to suddenly bring us where we are today?

Who else? Dwight shook loose, Chris Paul shook loose, Deron Williams shook loose, Rudy Gay shook lose........

Im not saying those guys instead, but we had a package and it was sold. What I am getting to is there could have been other combinations than just "Melo or keep Gallo/Wilson"!

Thats all. Its obvious Denver achieved a flexiblity and in a tranisition year with different objectives they won 57 games. They get a free pass because they did not push their chips to the middle of the table. We have.

Now, I can't temper everyone else's expectation so lets not lump Nalod with everyone.

We are a 2 seed and I expect us to be in the ECF's!

Walsh's statement is polite and the high road. His actions speak louder than words. He left the Knicks.

Im looking not for an arguement but for a good series.

Game 2 is big for us. Very big!

Nobody cares unless you advance in the playoffs, stop with all the liver and onion comments.

Lawyers get paid by the word. They're trained to think before talking, especially into microphones. Donnie's record here had plenty of actions; Very, very, very good job accomplished; made IT a really bad memory. I can understand a 70 something looking to go back home. No hard feelings. We all know BluesBoy is a douche. No arguments there.

What you're talking about is Rudy Gay??? We really talkin about Rudy Gay???

1. 300 ball to .600 ball. Check.
2. Routinely beat anyone and everyone. Check
3. No more laughingstock 40 point Christmas day losses that make you tune into NASCAR by the second quarter. Check.
4. Division Champs. Check.
5. 50 wins. Check.
6. Second Round. Check.

Tell me again about what the Nuggets list was, and how our results compare to theirs? Not ethereal dreams of other combos in the clouds, or flexibilities and "potenshulls".

I've read where rationality is the coin of the realm here in UK for the discerning, intelligent Knicks fan.

carmelo: "we haven't done anything yet."
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

not really but, this can't be decided until one team wins a championship. Other than that, then your just arguing which is the more mediocre team.

Yeah, it's like the goal of the trade wasn't for us to succeed but was just to outplay Denver. We should have traded with the Bobcats then!

agreed, imo this thread is ridiculous but, at the same time, I find some of the posts interesting, some pretty comical and some are down right insane. Coming here is sort of like when guys slow down to look at an accident...morbid curiosity

exactly.... and it will get more interesting as denver continues to build the team with the knicks picks.... knicks won't have a first rounder next year and the option to swap in 2016 can end up being tragic for this franchise... we have been down that road before..

Just a reverse of fortunes of the Knicks and the Nuggicks in playoffs and the debate of who got the better in the trade would be in Neon signs by the usual suspects. You know who you are.

Who cares? That doesn't increase the validity of your argument. At best, your presenting an argument against those posters who specifically wanted to rebuild a team around Gallo and Mozgov, etc., which I don't think is many people here.

knicks are playing for now.. Denver is trying to build a champion and so far 57 wins is a great start, first round exit or not.. unless the knicks win it all, I don't see how you can stand here and poke out your little chicken chest as if your point was proven.. LOL.. dude, the goal of this trade for the knicks was to win a ring.. if that doesn't happen, then it is a fail!!
