Asked Woodson if enough scoring w/this lineup. Why not Amare? "We’re only talking maybe 3 or 4 minutes and then Amar'e will be in the game."

This is really stupid

Thank you!

This strategy by Woodson is SO STUPID.

What? Is there a stat that says players get injured only in the first 3 minutes?

Woody has really become a ridiculous clown with his inexplicable actions. His starting lineups are a joke.

The minutes restriction is above his head and remember: this is Dolan and MSG we're talking about. If STAT can't play more than 30, I'll take those 3 or 4 extra minutes in the 4th.

I dont really see how the minutes restriction prevents Amare from starting. Shump is on a restriction and he was thrown into the starting lineup immediately.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

"You play to win the game"

Starting lineups have been an issue every time the team starts off flat.

It wasn't the case this time, but it has been before.

And using your starting bench (White, Thomas) more than 3-4 minutes, especially if you are running out of healthy bodies.

But whatever, its a win and all should be peachy! Guess I'll criticize the lineup next time we lose. Seems to be the UK way.

Bunch of bull**** trying to count D'Antoni's 1st 2 seasons as coach and his Toney Douglas at PG season.

Also a bunch of HYPOCRITES on this forum who CRIED about D'Antoni and praise Woodson.

19-16 in the last 35 games. Not the same team that started the season. Stop being hypocrites and johnny come latelys. Don't cherrypick when it comes to criticism. People criticized D'Antoni for a style that couldn't win in the playoffs. This style wont win anything either.

But keep up the hypocritical posting.

Hypocritical? My response to you didn't praise Woodson, nor did it criticize MDA. I simply responded to your post with facts.

BTW, nevermind the 1st 2 seasons....MDA was 18-24 last year while Woodson took the same exact group and went 18-6. Those are facts, not criticizing or praising....

Those are "facts" without actual facts. Get the point? Can't just print out stats without actually giving a background on them.

The team that was 18-24 was largely that because Carmelo refused to share the ball, we wasted the early part of the season trying to turn Douglas into a PG and our other PG options (Bibby, Davis) were either ineffective or always injured. That record is inflated because every team plays well after a coaching change. Look at the Bucks this season. Is Jim Boylan a good coach? Certainly not but the Bucks are playing better under him than Skiles.

Woodson started off 8-0 and finished 10-6 the rest of the way. We started off 18-5 this year and are now 19-16 in the last 35. Not to mention Woodson's putrid playoff record. Those are the "Facts".

I was a little scared at one point, but we were able to get the win. Despite not having Melo there would have been no reason for us to lose this game, with Lawrence Frank not coaching and Greg Monroe, Andre Drummond and Charlie V not playing.

Hopefully Melo is good for tomorrow, really excited to see him go up against Durant.

So MDA's putrid record with the Knicks has nothing to do with the coach, but is Melo, Dolan, Tony Douglas, Bibby, and Davis's fault? But when Woodson goes 18-6 with the same group, Woodson gets no credit, but its the ineffective and always injured players who get all the credit. Got it!

Why is it so easy for you to offer up excuses for MDA's failures with the Knicks and say my facts aren't 'actual', yet, you call Woodson's putrid playoff record a fact without offering similar 'actual' excuses as you did for MDA?

Every team Woodson lost to in the playoffs was favored to win. He lost to the Celts in 2008 (took the champs to the final game, almost pulled out game 6). Lost to Lebron and the Cavs in the 2nd round in 09' and lost to the Magic in the 2nd round in 10'. His teams beat who they were supposed to beat and lost to better teams....

I don't care who is favored to win, 2 straight years swept out of the playoffs is awful.

And Larry Drew hasn't done any worse than Woodson...which shows you Woodson's caliber as coach.

MDA wasn't a good coach but YOU brought up the record. There was a reason why his record was bad. Many factors that you failed to acknowledge. YOU tried to use the record as the end-all-be-all to an argument and failed. Yeah, I'm sure your original post was not in defense of Woodson. Yet you've spent the subsequent posts defending Woodson with strawman arguments.

If D'Antoni had the same team now he'd have a similar record. Because right now we're using D'Antoni's system. So I guess D'Antoni's much-maligned system is good now, right? It's a joke. This system wont win anything and a bunch of flip floppers are in here ranting and raving every day about how people disrespect Woodson and the Knicks. Look in the mirror! You're hypocrites!

Woodson improved the Hawks every season that he was there and he is a damn good coach. Drew hasn't done any worse but the Hawks aren't any worse than when Joe Johnson was the franchise.

PERSPECTIVE. We were swept once. We lost to the Heat in 5 last year! Awful sure, but not as awful as missing the playoffs for 10 freakin years! We were also banged up both years!

Saying If MDA had the same team that Woody has now we'd have a similar record is the same as saying that Woody could do the same for the Lakers. In fact Woody had the same team that MDA had and went 18-6.

So you're attributing the entire Hawks turnaround to Mike Woodson and not the fact their roster greatly improved when he was named head coach?

Are you also forgetting Woodson's first 4 seasons with Atlanta were a combined 106-222?

Are you saying the acquisitions of Joe Johnson, Al Horford, Josh Smith, Mike Bibby and others to replace the likes of Alan Henderson, Dan Dickau and Shareef Abdur-Rahim had no impact on the Hawks fortunes?

Okay.

Only this forum can turn a painfully mediocre coach into an excellent one. I've already provided quotes on what Hawks fans think of the "genius" of Mike Woodson and they don't miss him at all.

Phew, got the win- I thought Felton was having his worst game as a Knick, but he redeemed himself towards the end. Seems like Tyson took the game off- I forgot he was even playing. Nice to see Amar'e back as the alpha dog- good game by him.

We played flat, but won- hopefully we still have plenty of energy for the Thunder game.

Well, we've won the games we had to lately- now the month of hell begins!

I;m attributing the turnaround to Woody starting with the Hawks in straight rebuild mode taking the team to 3 straight playoff appereances while improving the win total every season he was there.
