I REALLY like Courtney Lee. I said it in another thread and withdrew it when I saw he was restricted. As a FA he is one of my top two given how our situation has changed. Courteny/Mayo are at the top of my list as 2 guards with Dahntay Jones as a bargain Sleeper. If we keep Lin I am more down with signing Kidd instead of Nash because he is cheaper and amendable to being a back up. IDK if this works under the CBA but if the Rockets are so in on Lin, how about

I hate it but if they do get DH, that's like a clinic on how to build a team by acquiring stars. As opposed to randomly acquiring pieces that don't fit well.

Sounds reasonable to me. Without Howard they're a tough team but definitely not contenders, with Howard they're really scary and should be close to Miami and OKC.


You really think they're a tough team? They were .333 last year and the only major change is getting JJ. To be a tough team I take it you're assuming JJ alone adds .200 or .300 to their winning percentage. I don't see it.

When I say tough I don't mean good. More like Philly and Milwaukee were tough last year. I guess I should add the Knicks as well to that list.

So that's basically JJ alone adding 200 to their winning percentage. Unless Deron returns to Utah form, I think the current Nets' roster will be tough like Portland and Minnesota!

I'm counting on Deron to care more than he did last year. Plus Eddy Curry Brook Lopez should be healthy and that will help also. By the way, I'm not disagreeing with you; without Dwight Howard they should finish between .400 and .500.

Dahntay Jones pick up his 1 year 2.8m contract with the Pacers. He reminds me of Fred Jones, he is a hustle player/defensive player that does a little big of everything.
I think Houston has no intention of actually signing Lin, just giving a contract to him to make us pay higher for keeping our $ making machine for Dolan to match.

I don't know if the full 5m MLE would be enough to land Beasley, but that is somebody I would target at starting SG, and could play SG/SF/PF.
Signing 2 players, with the MLE, like Danny Green/Gary Neal and Ak47 could restore some depth.

Clinic or coincidence? Everything kind of worked out in their favor and it had little to do with the genius of King. Williams wasn't going to walk away from 24 mil, Johnson was available because of the new GM in ATL wanting to unload a horrendous contract and not many teams other than the Nets were willing to add that money. And for some reason, Howard chose the Nets, not the other way around. So landing Dwight Howard is all about being patient...I dont really see a clinic at all...

We had better freaking re-sign Jeremy Lin. Especially if Iman is traded.

I can't believe I only got like 20 games of my favorite NY Knicks backcourt since Harper and Starks. (meaning Shump and Lin)... and they only started together a few times, I think, while Amar'e was out. sigh.

OR, with sign and trade in play and Lin and Novak on the hook for lots of cash, maybe the Knicks aren't giving him the $$ and letting him walk.
Either way, if those tweets are job-related, the Knicks hit him hard.

I hope its not job related. The Knicks need a 2/3 that can shoot the 3. Top 5 3 pt shooter over the last 5 years.

just speculating...but there could be a big 3 team deal coming down involving the Knicks/Rockets/Suns. All 3 teams seem to have players the other teams want....Suns wand Dragic, Rockets want Lin and to move Lowry, Kicks want Nash and maybe a complimentary piece like Lowry
