And that will make the NY Knicks better?

What is your best idea for a back up pg?

Do you think Lin is ready to play on a level of basketball we saw the last week?

What are you asking? Do you want Lin to be Lebron? Because if you're comparing him to a Heat player it should be Chalmers.

Oh Im talking Charlmers ..

You don't believe that Lin is at least as good as Chalmers?

Question isn't whether he is better than Charlmers?..Does Lin at PG help us compete against Miami?

Lin & kidd do at least give us a better chance than the rest of the east

I don't want a better chance, I want the best chance..Did you question Felton's age at 27 and have no issue with Kidd at 40?

Signing one player to 5mil alone is not giving us a chance to compete with miami

As opposed to who? I believe, at a minimum, Lin is a better than average NBA point guard and, at a minimum, is a valuable role player for a good team. We are certainly better off with him than without him unless without him we're bringing in a better player to replace him. If we don't bring him back, what's your plan?

Maybe we can get chris paul instead of Lin so that at age 30 he blows out his knee or back again and we are left without a pg since mark jackson & rod strickland again for another 30yrs

Shouldve never fired dantoni then if that was ever the plan. Did you see felton.last yr not only was be overweivht but he couldnt run nate's offense and only got a little better when given the reins to shoot because portland was depleted
Under their new coach

But you could say the same about Lin thriving in MDA offense..For the Knicks to compete Amare has to play like he did last year when Felton was here...Felton knows where to get Amare the ball where he is most comfortable...Lin is calling his own number more than anyone else's ..A 40 year old PG won't work either because we aren't sure Lin could withstand the rigors of a full NBA season...What happens if Lin goes down and we have no cap space or the MLE next year for a PG..So the plan is to make sure no one can compete against Lin..Great plan..

Lin is much more suited for a halfcourt offense at 6'3 great at penetrating finishing and dishing to the open man. Even with dantoni lin.was never a run and gun pg of the like a young kidd a young kidd/nash and felton

U do remember Lin having more FG attempts than Amare in games they played together right?

I think he has potential to but I cannot give you a definite yes or no. He needs to get stronger and have coach that recognize the importance of using a secondary ball handler.

But again what is your best idea?

I wouldnt say lin needs to get stronger although he clearly will as his body continues to develop but not many pgs get to the rim as successfully as he doea and finish

I am not talking about offense he needs to get stronger to handle his man on D.

I think he has potential to but I cannot give you a definite yes or no. He needs to get stronger and have coach that recognize the importance of using a secondary ball handler.

But again what is your best idea?

Bring in a PG who can get Amare 15 to 20 shots a game and who can compete with Miami..Bring Lin off the bench and let him develop..He is essentially a rookie and isn't ready to compete against Miami..The Knicks have a small window and waiting for Lin to develop should not be the gameplan..

And who is this international man of mystery?

Your like a lot of Knick fans. No imagination. You want the sure thing. Give up any youthful assets to get the "NOW" player.

You don't get a Heat killer with 5mm per do you? So how do you beat the Heat?

If Nash won't take the MLE then Felton..No mystery..It's not about giving up on youth, it's about honestly recognizing we have a small window and waiting for one player to develop should not be the gameplan...If Lin is ready he starts, if not come off the bench...Why is this a problem, it's beneath Lin?

I agree I want Nash or Felton, I know it was just one game but Lin's ball handling ability got exposed vs the Heat and I did not like what I saw, we need a vet you can handle the pressure and is also respected by the officials. Knicks need a shooting guard who can shoot as well no more of this Landry parading around as a starting shooting guard that experiment should have died with Dantoni he is a back up small forward at best.

Indict Lin with one game "exposed" against the Heat? C'mon man, one game?? Heat exposed a lot of dudes this season.

Lin played 26 games and averaged (i think) 18 and 6) Thats thru Linsanity and with woodson and a bum knee.

Im not going just on stats but what I saw. The kid rose to every challenge and had the stones to close out games.

Heat murdered linsanity for sure and bought the end of innocence. Lin is not the son of christ and was not able to rise up to defeat them. It was a teaching moment and did show the kid how to be stopped. To do so you have to give and he has to learn what that is. It was one game.

Lin can handle the pressure.

And Lin will be Linjured as will all our starters so yes we need a quality backup. Thats a given. Kidd is more than an able back up.

Knicks fans are Savior starphuchers for sure.

Amare's biggest problems wasn't PG play, it was the extra 20 pounds he added in the offseason and a herniated disc that he suffered just before the playoffs last year and wasn't diagnosed until just before the playoffs this year.
