Good size, good athleticism, good ball handling, ability to finish at the rim. Combined with understanding the game he is a good fit when paired with our talented front court.

See You Feb 23 In Miami

"He's playing and they're winning," Lebron James said. "I've heard about how he's staying with a friend, and about his getting cut and being a week away from not knowing if he was going to stick with the team, about how (the Knicks) might release him to sign Mike James.

"Then he gets the start against New Jersey and the rest is history. You always want someone to succeed when his back is against the wall. Now his chest is against the wall and he'’s seeing everything coming at him from every angle."

"Best of luck to him," James said. "I don't want him to be good when (the Knicks) are playing us, but other than that, good for him.”

Good for us.

Right now he looks like a combo guard. He has to get the turnovers way down if he wants to be a full-time PG in this league.

Turnovers my butt. Ever try playing 45 minutes a night on fumes?

One week ago Lin looked like DLeague bait.

Imagine where he will be one month from now.

classic example of reading stats and not watching the game. not only is he exhausted like earl points out. Lin's turnovers almost always attempts to set up teammates.

eVil - how many of the people hung up of putting Lin into a box noticed that he turned his ankle and did not come out?

Lin finished strong, wincing in pain.

Here is something to feel great about.

Once upon a time, there was a star 7' center who played basketball without passion. He was not very well liked. Even his teammates considered him aloof. He could dominate a game by himself and played by himself. The fans respected him but did not love him. Suddenly, a young lead guard arrived from Michigan State. The young point guard won at the high school and college levels with a smile on his face. He played the game with joy and no fear of mistakes. The moment the young guard arrived, something changed in the veteran big man. He learned the game could be fun. They learned how to win together.

Fast forward to New York in February 2012.

Here is the cool part few people talk about. Carmelo ALREADY plays the game with joy. His frustration led him to trying to do too much. His multiple injuries prevented him from performing at peak efficiency. Melo never made excuses. In the same manner Magic inspired Kareem to enjoy the game, Jeremy Lin will push Carmelo towards what he wants more than anything - to be a winner. In turn, Carmelo will inspire Lin, who also plays with joy... and fierce desire.

The mutual bow between Melo and Lin predates the Landry/Lin nerd salute. It was not an empty gesture. It was a sign of mutual respect between two guys who like to have fun.

Think Carmelo will be double teamed with Lin driving to the rack?

Think Lin will be double teamed with Carmelo running to an open spot?

It will be fun to watch.

You heard it here first.

well nobody said that the potential isn't there. i mean if they buy in then this team is scary. I mean even the heat will have a tough time. remember we went toe to toe for the most part with the heat without melo and lin

JCrusher - you missed the entire point. Lin and Carmelo have already "bought in" (The Answer Man loves meaningless cliches). They both desperately want to win.

Whatever. I'm not delusional trying to compare Lin to all time greats after 4 games.

I know most people here probably only watch the Knicks but for those who don't would see that Lin doesn't have great court vision. Dudes here have hyped Sergio Rodriguez, Chris Duhon, Toney Douglas, Andy Rautins, etc.

If you want to see who Jeremy Lin plays similar too then you should watch some Sixer games and check out Jrue Holiday. But of course since Lin plays for D'Antoni we should compare him to Steve Nash.

what martin said

AnubisADL - Player comparisons are exactly why Jeremy Lin was overlooked... because he defied comparison.

Player comparisons are for chumps.

JCrusher - my comment was based around Lin and Carmelo only. Perhaps the only issue is your reading comprehension. (as you say...lol)

Stop taking everything personally. Sheesh.

Doesn't have court vision? LOL! Wait till he's looking at Amar'e and Melo instead of JJ and Bill Walker. People are stretching to deny what's going on!

i agree some people are stupid. Lin has great vision thats one of his stengths. I mean if he didn't have great vision then he wouldn't be able to find holes in the defense like he has been

What They Said

“We can’t wait to have those guys back,” Steve Novak said. “We know obviously how good those guys are and how much they can help us. I think it’s been great for them to be able to see the way that we’ve been playing.

“There’s an energy that’s contagious. I mean, (Carmelo and Amar'e) haven’t played with Jeremy starting and playing like he has been. Melo was just chomping at the bit last game, he was saying ‘I can’t wait to be back.’ I think that it’s, the things he’s bringing, it’s contagious.”

Stay tuned
