Not saying he's chucking on every play b ut he will be calling is number enough that there won't be enough rock to go around. It's just what he is and what his game is. His passing is not his strength. His scoring and creating his own shot is. Last time around he was the most prolific scorer we had. Not anymore by a long shot. He doesn't know his place on this team because he isn't on this team. Nor would I expect him to right off the bat. He's not a really heady player and most would not know their place immediately.

I don't think we would have to worry about the chucking so much anymore, although everyone does take bad shots now and then. He's a scorer though, so anyone who expects him to be a facilitator is kidding themselves.

I see no way that Jamal doesn't pass to STAT, Melo or Tyson. I predict lots of sweet Alleyoops and dishes on cuts to the basket. When you play with All Stars it's a lot easier to think pass and to make them. They'd gang together and kill Jamal if he didn't pass enough.

You really think that is all Jamal is gonna do here? You seriously think he's gonna ignore STAT and Melo? I think you're way off base. We all know Jamal isn't a pure passer, but more of a scorer, but that doesn't mean he will just ignore the plays when he's on the floor with 2 Superstars. When we last saw him he was one of the teams stars and took shots accordingly. He's not that guy anymore. He knows his place on this team.

I dont believe its Fields. I think it's Shawne Williams and some sort of addition compensation such as cash. I don't think they want to lose Crawford for nothing and getting a quality player like Williams and cash makes sense. Williams seems like a natural fit there. Plus something is holding up a deal with Williams. I think it is logical that they are trying to work out of a couple of sign-and-trade pieces, so this makes sense.

C Chandler
PF Stoudemire
SF Anthony
SG Crawford
PG Douglas
6th Fields
7th Bibby
8th Shumpert
9th Jeffries

That is a strong rotation with a lot of firepower. I would be very excited about it.

I feel like that's wishful thinking. Who's it gonna be if not Fields? Isn't Shawne still unsigned? The other team needs to get some value, no? It's gotta be someone who is perceived as valuable by other teams. That means TD or Fields. No one is as hyped about Shumpert as UK posters. He hasn't played an NBA game.

If fit is it's probably Fields and WIlliams and maybe Iman as well. If not probably a set of picks.

Wouldn't mind seeing craw back in the blue and orange but not at the expense of Schumpert. Schumpert would be a deal breaker for me.

On another note, cant imagine Jamal coming here and chucking-away with Melo and Stat on the floor. If he's unselfish enough to take a pay cut, and recognizes the talent we have here and wants to be a part of it, no way are we getting the same Craw that played in the same backcourt with Marbs and Q Rich....Im pretty sure he'll be more facilitator when on the floor with Melo and Stat and may pick it up when one of them is one the bench.

Regardless of the nay-sayers complaints, we only have two legit scorers right now. Whats wrong with adding a third scorer? The lack of a third scorer is what kept the Bulls out of the finals, and handcuffed us last year when Stat went down.

Did we even sign Williams? He's not in this.

A wign-and-trade that would bring Jamal Crawford back to the #Knicks would not include Toney Douglas in its current form, source says.

and who was guiding him..?

Not doubting Craws character but he's not a good distributor. If you're looking for him to run the offense, you're going to be disappointed. It's just not the right use of him. He's not a high Bball IQ kind of guy. The Bulls got beat because Boozer is overrated and they ran into the Superfriends who were close to winning it all. We only had one real scorer after Stat went down.

This trade hasn't gone down yet either. I'm sure if it does he will be part of this.

He wouldn't and he most likey won't sign until all moves by the Knicks are over with. He has multi-year offers from other teams. He's taking his time. Not only that, but if he agrees to come here after having those other offers on the table, and they trade him, then that makes two pissed off former knick players. I can't see them doing that.

It's not like we would blindside him. S+T happen all the time. Players go where the money is generally. Other things are a distant second with few exceptions.

Under old CBA (and I don't believe it's changed), rookies can't be traded for 30 days after signing. Free agents can't be dealt for 3 months

Its not Iman.
Knicks want to sign Crawford to "room" exception, $2.5 mil. Most they can offer. Crawford obviously seeking more. Makes a deal tough

Proposed sign-trade involving Crawford being swapped for Douglas is a non-starter, I'm told. Knicks aren't giving up TD.

It's looking more and more like this deal isn't going to happen so we won't have to worry about who was right. I think TD, Iman and Bibby is enough to get by for right now. I'm sure something will happen at some point. Who knows what happens with Baron Davis.

D'Antoni said #Knicks are OK at point guard with Douglas, Bibby, Shumpert and running offense thru Melo: "There’s a lot of options we have."

To be fair Jamal was doing real well under MDA. I think the Knicks need him, with Landry getting out played by Allen in playoffs Jamal can help. Same with Douglas he was severely out played by Rondo.

You can't compare a rookie (who most likely was exhausted and hit the rookie wall) to Ray Allen. You can't really compare most to him.

I agree with Jamal playing well under coach. He was turning things around.

Rondo makes a lot of guys look bad. I'll give Douglas a pass as he played very well and hurt, most of the year. I know his great on the ball defense took a hit after he hurt that shoulder.

Berger saying Knicks are trying but the trade is not likely to happen. Atlanta doesn't want to take back salary.

The Knicks can look to be patient and develop the PG's they have, namely TD, IMan and Bibby and wait to see what happens with guys like Sessions and B. Davis. Right now I think they can get by with the guards we have and try to see if they can develop some chemistry. There just aren't a lot of great PG options when you get down to it. They need to bring back Shawne now.

I'm pretty cool with the team we have now. If Baron gets amnestied I'd take a flier on him but I think we're out of room to manuever right now.

Bill Ingram added this when asked about whether Knicks could get him:

It would be great to add Jamal, obviously, but the Knicks are lobbying him HARD to join them. They just don’t have any money to pay him. Their entire team called him on a conference call to beg him to play in NY.

Ha, love the idea of Stat, Melo and Chandler who all got sign and trades to come here, so they could get extra money, now pleading for Jamal to sacrifice millions and come here out of love! Still, I suppose we could ask him to play for a year until we get the MLE next season. I'm surprised there's been so little interest by other teams in Jamal.

I know the Knicks can't pay him, but couldn't the three of them pick up his rent, car payment, cable, internet, dry cleaning tab, etc.?
