I'd like to say I care but this team has left the fan in me in a coma. I love the Knicks, but this edition is killing me softly to the point I don't expect wins anymore and a loss like this one isn't that shocking nor infuriating.

I don't feel this team at all. If they make the playoffs playing like this, its gonna be as exciting as a headache.

It's hard to deal with when you're team is struggling like this. It's one of those unexplainable funks that teams go thru. Even when we 1st made the trade, we didn't struggle like this offensively. We know the team is gonna be up and down on D, but for this team to struggle to score it tells me there's some strange things going on. That's just not normal.

I'm hoping and praying that they snap out of this before the playoffs, cuz who wants to see this team playing like this in the playoffs?

Jennings plays under control most of the time. Douglas is Helter Skelter with no sense of pacing.

We need our PG to run the offense like Jennings.

Im also confused why we didn't double team Jennings like other teams do.

We were still trying to figure out how to get out of our 5th game post trade confusion of how to guard the PNR. You got it right tonight Jennings and Bogut were very good. You know though the Jennings we saw tonight is not and has not been the 2010-11 Jennings. If Delfino can drop 30 on us..... Jennings the star you think he is, should have dropped 60....so he still failed

Good point about doubling Jennings and forcing Salmons beat us all night

I'd say we need our point guard to run our offense like Kyle Lowry and add in play defense like him

We're a team full of misfits at this point.

Im not saying Jennings is a star. Im saying he is an above average PG.

Jennings runs the offense. He dropped 37 on us because we dont defend the paint. We gave him wide open layups.

Kyle Lowry is a solid PG but his PG's skills are weak.

Jennings would be nasty with guys who can finish.

If we had double Jennings he doesnt get 30+ points and the Bucks lose.

Lowry averages 1.5ast/gm more than Jennings on the year. He has a higher ast/to ratio. He has a better fg% and 3pt%. He has no real finishers in the starting lineup. Those players come off the bench in which he doesn't log heavy minutes with.

Once again you're probably right about doubling. Force someone else to run offense. I think we feared Delfino going Hansbrough squared on us, therefore Jennings better treat the spainard for dinner tonight.

Edit: Delfino might be from South America but the suggestion still holds

Obviously it should. We gutted the soul of the roster for a bunch of tourists just passing through.

I agree and Dolan better not raise the ticket prices. If he does we should a boycott the Knicks games.

No.

Say what you like but Jennings runs the offense well. Problem is the Bucks have no offense.

24 and 15 for Randolph with 2 blocks.

This hurts.

I'm at a loss right now. Is D'Antoni's system so special that neither the players we currently have can play it nor guys that have tasted the doghouse, been traded and then had some success in other places. I don't care that Randolph has a game like this, but I care about what it says about our coach and his system that a young player can struggle mightily to fit in it and when freed, he can have games like this. I worry about how our team, a group of players that isn't as bad as their current play, can be so horrible trying to play this system.

I know we went through this at the beginning of the season, and some hope that we come our of this funk blazing as we did back then. But that team was better suited for D'Antoni. That team was also young and willing to believe in this coach and hope his way works. Im not saying the new players aren't, but it really doesn't look that way.

Im probably as confused as our team. I need a margarita.

True but you have to keep in mind they are every bit players who create their own offense and direct it or have it run through them. I bet Jennings has the ball in his hands far more than Lowry?

so far the trade sucks. We were no doubt better before. We had the second youngest team and did not have a run this bad.

question is the coach. Same coach that had them in the 6th seed and while not perfect were improving. The trade rumors hurt both Denver and Knicks. The trade helped the Knuggs.

Blame is the trade for now. until we get a 1 and a 5 we will be dysfunctional.

Bring in ANOTHER coach? Not sure thats the answer, but I don't really understand how to fix it either.

They haven't been improving since the early season run. In fact it's been a slow but sure slide. So even when we did have the 1 covered we were struggling. So you can either blame the lack of a good center or the coach for being under 0.500.

I give credit for all the points we scored to D'ANtoni and the blame for all the buckets we let upon the players. D'Antoni is carrying this team on his back. The players really need to pitch in.

Not right now, of course. But I can't help but wonder if the pieces we have are fit for D'Antoni's system. Also, how much flexibility do we have now to make the team look fit for it, especially when one of the two stars, Melo, isn't exactly made for it. And then the issue of the big man remains with this coach and seems like will remain.

I don't know either. This is more than the coach, I know. But this team probably wouldn't be playing this badly under another coach and system.

What the freak is he supposed to do when his best players are not getting it done. You think we can just win games without them playing well? These repeated statements from some Knick fans are just ignorant. This team was averaging 106 ppg and now we struggle to get 90 pts. That just doesn't make sense. The team is built to be a shutdown team. Not without more size. That trade only made us weaker on D, so the team MUST be good on offense. For some reason we've gotten worse.

It is well known that DOES NOT put an emphasis on defense, we are a one trick pony team when we can't score we ****ing lose. The ignorant one is you bro, believing that this joker with his run and gun no defense style is going to win the big one day. Child please.

Oh shut up. You're just spouting the same parrot talk all these other guys have been. No real analysis of what's really happening on the court. Just "MDA doesn't focus on defense" as if that's the only thing you need to do and every team in the league would be defensive juggernauts. It doesn't work like that. At some point you need to have the right players to get the job done. Our best 2 players aren't good or committed defenders and since they log starter minutes that means when their on the floor you have some holes on D.

Tonight the Knicks didn't lose due to D
. Sure it wasn't great D, but this was about horrid offense, much like the other losses have been. we haven't reached 100 pts in any of the last 5 losses!!! This for a team that avg'd 106. To me that is a problem with the offense. This team isn't setup to be great on D. We have to be great on offense.

LMAO at your comment, yeah Bogut waltzing down the lane for layups all game had NOTHING to do with the loss. My sig is a few years old but it is still relevant. BAD SHOTS + POOR DEFENSE + POOR NO COACHING ADJUSTMENTS = MANY LOSSES. Carry on

I think that if STat Billups and Melo left the team they would improve and be winning just like everyone else who has left the Knicks recently. It must be the air, maybe the water in NYC....
nixluva wrote:ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH! DAMN IT!!!! This is just so frustrating!

I know it's easy to just bang on D'Antoni, but this is about the players man. You look at how we've played in the 1st and 4th qtr of all these losses and it's unbelievable how similar they've been. We start bad and end bad and in the middle it's just enough to get into the game, but not enough to win it. These 4th qtr collapses are just incredible. It's our best players who are just not clicking at all. STAT, Melo and Billups is not working and it shouldn't be this bad.
