His shot has been so deadly that I just want him to shoot instead of taking it in.

Honestly I think it's just you. Amare's got a pretty complete offensive game and knows when to take it to the rack and when to take the J. ATL was just giving him the jumper tonight and he was making it.

When STAT takes his time on his jumper it's pure. STAT has learned to go to the basket with caution rather than just barrell in at high speed which has led to many charging fouls. That's what Melo needs to do too. You don't have to be flying to gain the advantage on your man. Just ask Paul Pierce. STAT wasn't moving as fast as he can of some of his drives and he was more under control as a result.

In fact I meant to add that Melo is rushing his release on his jumper. He doesn't have to rush. He's already got the advantage on most of his jumpers. He should slow it down just a touch like Kobe does. Kobe's initial move is quick, but the shooting motion is smooth and not rushed. To me that's the only change Melo needs to make in his shot and his drives. He's pressing.

I think it will all come together..like you said he is pressing. He missed his first 3 FTs badly. I have no worries about Melo. Hopefully he gets a bit more calls on his drives also. He is getting beat up bad.

I am watching the encore right now and Melo is taking good shots. Just not falling. I am not worried. I do like him without the headband.
