The evidence doesn't back you up on this claim. I just can't see how anyone can keep saying these things with no evidence support the claim. AR had done nothing and seemed to deserve to sit until he got his head right. Timo needed time to get his head right as well. Just playing in games doesn't mean you'll magically "get it". Great win:

Good to see AR get some run, came in and hit the boards and hustled. I like that..

Amare is a warrior. great game, passed the ball early in the game, took over late.. 33/6/4 dimes..

Gallo: 29/5/1, this guy is such a talent, and is really showing off his passing skills. seems to be getting more explosive driving the ball.. gave prince fits on both ends.. He goes left so well, as good as any big in the league...actually how many big can dive to their weak side that well..

Felton: didn't shoot well, but controlled the tempo in the second half..

Fields: solid game, didn't shoot well, but played well.

Moz: WOW!!! 23/14!! it gave me goosebumps to finally see a big man just clear the boards and control the paint for us.. GREAT GAME!!

TD: solid game.. shot 4-8 from the field..

great win.. good defense late...

AR & Mozgov don't even see playing time tonight if Wilson is healthy & Williams doesn't get into that fight with Marvin Williams, so what evidence do you have to support your claim that MDA was just waiting for the right time to get AR & Mozgov involved?

right. I don't care about what individual stats AR could've gotten. What matters is the team dynamic. And he was an obvious detriment when he got burn, and I didn't particularly care for his pouty puss face

The difference between AR and Moz is that AR has averaged 11ppg and 8rpg in the NBA over two seasons before coming here, so he is not a rookie. He's demonstrated that he can play and win in the NBA.

Alan Hahn has reported that MDA didn't like AR's "on court demeanor" and that was a major reason for his benching. Just seems like a waste to me.

We've been outrebounded all year and AR is an elite rebounder waiting to happen. he had 5rebs in 8 minutes tonight. that comes out to 25 rebs over 40 minutes.

Play AR.

As for AR, very mature attitude tonight. He was out there to rebound and complement the offense with hustle play rather than look for his shot. Also a good building block performance.

Great win all around. Tough game against Dallas up next.

Yeah, this is true, and it has been overlooked in our (my) enthusiasm over his performance.

Truth is we don't know when Timo was gonna get back in, but I believe he was in the cards tonight due to Amar'e being iffy. Clearly the work that AR and Timo have been putting in seemed to pay off. It's a super small sample size, but you have to like how they approached the game. MDA started the year looking to play a 9-10 man rotation and only went away from it when it proved not to be effective. We don't know if he'd look to try and extend that if these kids prove to be effective the rest of the way. I'll tell you this, after the way they looked tonight he'll be MUCH more inclined to put either kid in there from now on.

Moz definitely gets a chance at the rotation,
but I hoping AR still gets another shot after
everyone comes back. 7-10 minutes a game too
much to ask? He was playing within himself.
I'm salivating at the thought of Moz & AR playing
together on the second unit with some confidence in'em.

I really hope Timofey Mozgov wasn't a fluke tonight. I'm not expecting him to be a 20/10 Center but if he can be a legit starting C like Robin Lopez, I'll be so freaking happy! Cause Mozgov has a lot of talent. He can catch and dunk, he can shoot the midrange J and he has some moves in the post. He also CAN rebound and alter shots. I really don't want to waste $10M or $12M on a role playing Center like Nene or Marc Gasol and end up like the Atlanta Hawks.

I really wouldn't get too hung up about that. Pro ball is all about taking your chances, be it in practice or on the court. MDA has a tight rotation, but Shawne Williams took his chance to get ahead of AR in the rotation back when AR was playing minutes every game. Glad to see AR step up and try and wrest his place back. Shows maturity. And that's what he has been lacking so far. Baby steps.

Mozgov started the game out by missing his first 4 shots... if this were any other night, he'd have been yanked out of the game at that point & Williams or Wilson would have been back in... Mozgov was interviewed after the game & admitted being nervous to start the game but settled down & got into a rhythm... that's not uncommon for young players to experience... i contend that AR suffered from a lot of the same kind of nerves in early games trying to learn a new system & never was able to get into any sort of rhythm after he got yanked out of the rotation & put into the doghouse... now i'm not saying Mozgov was ready early in the year to play at this level, he clearly wasn't, but in AR's case we've seen him produce at a high level in many NBA games before ever getting here.

i agree w/u it's great to see AR get a chance to show what he can do, but i've seen him play MUCH better than he played tonight in prior games in Golden State... he can make a huge impact in games, i already know this... yes, he's still young & is a work in progress, but to say he's been lacking in this kind of maturity in the past is a little simplistic if u ask me... i think we need to get this kid into the rotation, both for the team's sake & for the sake of pumping up his potential trade value in case we look to deal him down the road... i think it does our team no good to have him sitting on the bench... if u get this kid regular burn i think he's gonna get more comfortable in his role & he'll start producing at a high level again like he was doing last year... if we have to go to a 10 man rotation & Walker is left as the odd man out, then so be it... i think we really need to get AR & Mozgov into the rotation now, our lack of size has been our main weakness all year.

TMS you can believe that Mike would've had a short leash on Timo, but you don't KNOW that for sure. It appeared to me that Timo was doing the right things and I would expect that Mike would naturally expect a bit of rust or nerves to start with. You make it sound like Mike is some inexperienced guy that lacks any understanding of the situation. Mike Knows that kids like AR and Timo are gonna be a bit tight in their 1st game action in a long time. Come on man give it a break already.

The thing is that Mike is an NBA headcoach that has had success in this league and i'm quite sure he understands the dynamics of a young players mental state. AR may have produced numbers in the past, but that wasn't in a finely tuned team with a serious playoff aspiration. Lots of guys put up meaningless numbers. It's not the same as being part of a team concept that is designed to win and where you have to conform to certain expectations. AR couldn't just wing it here.

AR couldn't just wing it here.

if u watched the 1st quarter u'd have seen Mozgov looked just as clueless as ever for the 1st 10 minutes of the game... missed 4 point blank layups, missed a defensive assignment badly that led to an easy made basket & committed 2 early fouls... please name me on what basis do u think MDA would have stuck by him in any other situation other than out of absolute necessity to do so tonight because he was 2 men short? it was only after his teammates continued to dish the ball off to him downlow that he finally got some easy dunks & got himself into the flow of the game... Gallo's drive & dish in particular seemed to help him gain some confidence, he had a nice bounce in his step after that made dunk... i don't buy that Timo remains in the game today if Williams or Chandler were available to play otherwise.

very true, he pretty much outplayed prince in every facet of the game tonight..

that dunk of his off the strong drive to the hole in the 1st few minutes of the game was just nasty... that's the way i wanna see Gallo play for 4 quarters... tonight he did a good job of keeping up his intensity all game long... i wanna see more of that.

I really like this team. Players go down and somebody else picks up the slack. What is not to like?

Watching the encore now and I see Walker missed a couple of wide open teammates in AR and Timo. Probably why he did not play in the 2nd half.

AR looks good in his limited minutes. He was open on more than a couple of occasions but TD and Walker were missing him.
