Maybe he'll start playing more defense now that there is more of an incentive, now that he sees he has a legit team around him and the extra effort will be worth it.

This is something that maybe we'll notice from all the players. But in the case of Lee it will bring him up to a satisfactory defender where it might bring up, let's say Hughes, to a superb defender. So there will be I think a general upward trend in defensive effort as the team comes together and this will serve to make everyone look a little bit better individually.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

we saw today when he wants to play defense he can... so why doesn't he do it on a more consistent basis? it's not hate, it's frustration cuz u know he's got it in him to play D, but he doesn't more often than not... otherwise i think most people realize he's got skills on the other side of the ball.

People only like to make posts about Lee being a beast the one out of every 5 games David Lee decides to play defense. Let's see him give consistent effort on that side of the ball before we label anyone a beast. Oh and I still don't think he's an unstoppable offensive player to be labeled a "beast".

haven't seen anyone stop him yet

Speights & Al Horford did a good job on him so far this season... Dwight Howard dominated him but he dominates everyone so I'll give him a pass on that one... other than those 3 games, Lee's been pretty much money all year putting up stats on the offensive end.

still, i have to agree w/Abe, when i hear someone referred to as a beast i picture a guy who commands double teams, is a go to guy on offense & can take over a game on his own... i personally think Al Harrington has been beasting more than Lee has this season in terms of dominating a game.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Thing about Lee is he is so good at what he does. Like Tim Duncan with his bank-shot, both Lee and Tim know their limitations and focus on their strengths. Can Lee stand to improve a bit on the defensive end? Sure. And with some extra effort and a winning atmosphere, that improvement is still very possible.

But you just gotta' love David on the offensive end, he's really fun to watch the way he finds ways to finish in even the tightest spots. And, as someone here mentioned, defensive rebounding is a defensive skill, is it not? David Lee dominates the boards and is always good for a very efficient double-double. What's not to love?

David's getting to the point where he's not hurting us defensively and that's all we're going to get from him. He doesn't have the leaping ability to be a significant shot blocker or the reaction time to avoid being beat, but when he works hard at it, he can usually keep players in front of him and use his hands to get some steals.

lee outplayed horford in the win at Atlanta.

harrington is getting free on the weakside because of all the attention lee receives

portland has issues...the oden thing zapped all their mojo...they are teetering on that line the bulls were a few years ago. they accumulated some young talent but are they going to stick with it like the bulls did or are they going to make a major shakeup? missing out on hedo hurt them and pritchard needs to suck it up and make some moves.

hughes is the mvp of the knicks so far.

they need to play blake a lot less and bayless much more especially with Roy. bayless is the only other guy on that team with Outlaw out that brings ebergy can break down the d and get his own shot.

i have no idea why blake is getting major minutes but it may have to do with roy and the way he runs things in portland. and why did roy wait till 4 mins left to wake up? and andre miller might as well be sitting next to oden with his role on that team...

I liked what I saw from Lee, Harrington and Gallinari last night.

If the Knicks can maintain this consistency, we'll be at .500 in no time.

Also, we had a helluva good time last night at the game with the UK crew. I was hollering so much that I lost my damn voice again... (Yes, AGAIN. LOL) It was good seeing the fellas, and meeting some others for the first time. We definitely have to do it again soon. MUCH thanks goes out to BRIGGS and Martin for putting the plan together!

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

The reason lee had a good defensive game is he didnt have to wrestle with a bigger guy. LA didnt score on him one time.

King, where you been bro?

David is having a very good season so far.. his defense has been better but his offensively he's really rounding his game out.

Just went through in vitro with the wife and finally got pregant so now I can make people dumber with my posts on the site. If he doesnt have to guard a center he can do more help side and be more active. If your guarding someone 50 lbs more you can only stop his momentum, if you let him release to help it is a dunk or a offensive rebound. He will get better I just hope my other st louis guy hughes can keep this up

Congrats on that bro, that's awesome news.

If David could ever move back to PF, he'll be set defensively.

Speights & Horford are pretty much the same size as D Lee & they both got the better of him... Aldridge went for 19 / 13 / 2 / 2 last night vs. Lee.

and Lee went 17/10 on 5-9 shooting vs. Aldridge. I thought Lee won that battle hands down and had a bigger impact on the game than LMarcus. Bigger Cohones too
