Teague just happens to be coming up when Mike Bibby seems to be breaking down finally. Craw has been playing PG for them off the bench but Teague has been demanding PT as well...

Ty Lawson has Chancey ahead of him but Karl has had no choice but to play him.

Anyway....our Toney Douglas is on par with the dudes I mentions so far. The only difference is Chis Duhon is the bum thats getting 30 mins ahead of him. If D'antoni is tru to his play your best guys routine...then I think Toney is gonna eventually pass Duhon. I think even when Nate comes back its gonna be even more clear how effective a ball player Toney is cuz of the contagious play. Toney and Nate could be very disruptive on both ends for big chunks.

The tandem of Toney and Nate dominated the starters during training camp from the reports I remember reading (except for that one day Duhon decided to play over his head). Those two will feed off each other.

Trust the Process

Heh...remembering Toney last year...the guy got plenty of floor time and had the respect of the officials...things like not knocking Ridenouor or West out when they deserve it,,,doesn't blow his cool; get you all kinds of respect with people like the refs.

So I notice in a game he's working the official pointing out something somebody is doing to one of his teammates..likely a shirt pull or something...sure enough the whistle blows before the next basket.

Some of you guys don't get it. Numbers are nice to stack stuff on. But PG ain' about numbers. Whether he gets there are not he has all the parts he needs as far as the tools, Frankly I think Toney didn't know he still had two seconds when he let it go. At the end of last game....and if you have a good center it should have been put back. Better yet he goes to the hole makes it and the and one. But he lead them back. He can lead and I think it is becoming clear to his teammates who the real heartbeat of this team is. Maybe even D'Antoni.

Well I agree 13.6 million times

I think you're on the money Olbrannon, you were always high on the kid. And definitely, stats do not and cannot tell the whole story. He seems like a real humble, hard working guy. This is great that we drafted him, another home grown on the roster can't hurt. Hopefully he will be able to fill the role sometime this season.

But let us be cautious, for every awesome game like the last one, be prepared to go through some pretty bad showings. This is a part of the learning curve and it shouldn't cause alarm or any detraction from the way we view him now.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

i personally think it will be sometime over the next 10-20 games, if td continues giving us strong performances, but it's really in God's hands. and while duhon sucks, maybe he comes out with some good games of his own, making the switch tougher.

You don't think that Rose/Rondo/Harris/Westbrook/Evans are the prototypical point guards now? They all have 6'8" wingspans or more, can finish at the rim, play great defense, and take fouls for fun. Watching their playoff battle, it seemed to me that we were seeing the players of the next decade with Rondo and Rose going at it game after game. The guys who are successful and are shorter are "pure" PG's like Flynn and Paul who have been playing the position their whole lives. Flynn also has an insane vertical which allows him to finish even at his size.

The top PG's coming in next year will make those guys look small. Wall/Warren/Lee/White/Taylor/Bradley/Shved/Bouldin - all are 6'3" or taller. That's a trend...

I love Douglas' work ethic (coaches say he comes in early every day), and defensive intensity. My opinion is just that a shorter combo guard without great leaping ability will ultimately be better served coming off the bench if he's playing on a good team. He scored 21 on jumpers last game and it would be tough to ask him to do that efficiently on a regular basis. He also had only one assist which can't be sustained by this Knicks team.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

And I submit he would have had more assists if his teammates knockdown more open shots.

I think JohnWallace44 is saying that while he likes Toney Douglas, he has some questions about his physical gifts and whether they ultimately create a ceiling on how successful he can be. I think that is a fair point. We've seen it before with guys like Travis Knight or Charlie Ward, if we think about it there are tons of other examples. Solid players, but there are lots of good players who cannot transcend their physical limitations the way a Mark Jackson could.

I think JohnWallace44 is saying he wants one of these freaky athletic PGs that seem to be becoming commonplace on the NBA scene. Guys who create mismatches with their sheer physical ability.

If I am wrong about what you are saying JohnWallace44, let me know, but I think that is it.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

There are very few figures as transcendent as Mark Jackson.

Only the superstars dont have weaknesses. Every player,at every position has weaknesses. The good players( not the great players) either try and hide their weaknesses or dont leave themselves open to their weaknesses be exploited by the opposing player. There were and are many players that were very good with their weaknesses. Thats what separates good from great. Superstars stay within their own game, good players try and go out of their game.
