I like the Euros who have proven numbers and higher prestige--honestly those are the guys who have had success. To use a 2 pick on this kid who wont play against the top guys and had no numbers cant shoot--well buyer beware.

Atleast we have seen what a guy like Thabeet can do--he doesnt need to workout in 3 on 3 half court and by the way he would kill in 3-3's with the guys in this draft. He probably should have if he ends up slipping as a result.

you may be right briggs, and for the record, I like jennings, I just don't like the unprofessionalism, and degrading other prospects in the media...

i don't think it's a huge bad mark on his character, i mean i would hope every one of those PG's in the draft think to themselves that they're the best or want to be... i didn't have a problem w/Marbury thinking he was the best PG in the NBA... the problem was when he came out & said it to the media, when really he had nothing to back it up... thinking it & saying it are different, i'm sure you can distinguish the differences here.

for me, the issue arises when you're not smart enough to know when a little discretion is the better part of valor, a concept that Jennings does not seem to have grasped as yet... it points to immaturity & arrogance on his part, not confidence, which should raise some red flags to GM's looking to draft him IMHO... it wouldn't make the entire decision obviously, he's a damn good player & prospect, anyone who's watched his film can see this... but when there are so many other great looking PG prospects in this draft u have to wonder if this is the guy you wanna use ur lottery pick on.

no he didn't put up awesome numbers but he showed himself well, especially for such a young kid... 8 pts. 3 assists & 3 steals in 18 minutes the first game they played where USA spanked Spain... he wasn't hitting his shot, only went 1 for 4 from the field, but he did get to the FT line & hit 5 of 6 in his short stint & hit the only 3 pointer he attempted... those stats are just 1 made shot short of what Deron Williams put up that game & no one's gonna question that guy's talent... the lone bad stat was the 4 turnovers he committed, but tell me what 17 yo kid going up against Jason Kidd, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, D Wade & Kobe wouldn't? btw, Kobe & Lebron also both made 4 turnovers that game & Jason Kidd only scored 2 pts, so stats don't really tell the whole story of a guy's ability... i thought Rubio made a nice account of himself during the entire Olympics personally.

yes, i've seen them... dude, he played 5 games in the Euro League last year & only saw sporadic run... his ACB stats are much more impressive where he averaged 10 pts. 6.1 assists & 2.2 steals in 23 mpg in 22 games played:

so what exactly is Jennings doing ragging on a guy who had a better season overall than he had last year? someone who put up 7.6 pts & 1.6 assists in Euro League is gonna be chirping about how much better he is than a guy who impressed NBA scouts & NBA allstars in Olympic competition? ok.

like i said, what's that got to do w/anything anyway? this is about Jennings' lack of discretion in saying what he said, not about how good of a player he is.

This is just not enough to project any kind of career on.

Again, Carlos Arroyo and Saruns Jasikevicious torched TEAM usa.

So what. Rubio had the ball in his hand too so to not get any assists or points while playing with a great national team would just be disastrous. I bet I could get a couple assists and a bucket or two playing with a national team if you're gonna give me the rock the whole time and tell me to go get my team blown out.

What should worry any team drafting Rubio is his injury history. He seems to be prone to injuries and some analysts have said he may not be the player everyone believes he is, not for his talent but for his health.

We'll see about that.

Seems to me that Jennings seems jealous of Rubio and the hype surrounding him. He shouldn't have said anything. He is young and will learn that he shouldn't say anything negative about other players. He is a young guy and deserves a pass.

Fine. I'll give him a pass, just this once.

But the above post showed how much better Rubio is, and he's younger. Rubio had a much awesomer season than did Jennings, so I don't know where he gets off bad-mouthing a superior player.

It's pretty obvious that this thread has turned into an argument that really has nothing to do with Jennings or Rubio. Most Gm's probably don't care for either side IMO since Euro players are the new black and nobody cares about Marbury.
