^ Yes, or else there wouldn't be great finishes. That's like saying closers can't give up runs in the ninth inning because they make millions of dollars. Please rethink that logic. It doesn't matter how much you get paid.

Stop nitpicking at words and answer the question.....is too much for a coach to expect his team to defend for 4 seconds?

it looked like d'antoni was sending a double to roy for most of the 4th quarter. but in the final possession, he doesn't try to take it out of his hands nor does he try to foul. i think it's a brainfart on his end.

WTF. I started post with my answer. And indicated how silly it sounds then gave you an example.

Is it too much to ask for a coach to put his players in the best possible position to win the game?

All those assistant coaches and not a single one to keep track of fouls and let the players know how many fouls they can give before they're in the penalty.

Listen to the last play, when Clyde yells at Gus. I told you they wouldn't foul.

Why was Jeffries even on Roy? He doesn't have the lateral quickness to defend Roy and if Roy got the ball on the perimeter, you knew he was going to go to the basket.

Plus by putting Jeffries that far from the basket, you're eliminating your last line of defense with Jeffries being the only potential shotblocker on the floor.

If you weren't going to foul, I would have had Chandler defending Roy on the perimeter and keep Jeffries and Lee in the lane to defend against any penetrators.

Bad coaching.

No its not. Personally I coould careless about the foul to give Because they would have found a way to make another shot with 2 seconds left in the game. The problem I'm having is having Jefferies in the game. I have seen enough of him to know that his defense is vastly overrated. I was wondering instead of driving to the basket Roy could have just as easily dropped a jumper in his face. Jefferies was backing up so much Roy couldn't help but follow him to the basket.

First, I dont know for sure if MDA told the players to foul or not. I wasn't in the huddle, nor did I see the post game show so I dont know if he commented on it or not. Regardless, Jeffries had the first shot to foul him and he didn't. Again I dont know if he was instructed to foul or use his own judgement. After he got by Jeffries, Lee was late to help and was kind of in no mans land because if he fouls, Roy is on the line shooting two. It was still 4 seconds and Roy waltzed through two Knicks.....

So why is everyone saying MDA didn't call for a foul as if there was a mic in the huddle?

Because Lee confirmed that they weren't instructed to foul. The coach isn't there to just motivate, it's his job to draw up gameplans too. I understand he is a player's coach but you can't say hey Jeffries if you feel like fouling him then be my guess buddy. You make the call. Come on.

He call fouling a gamble and he you watched and remembered the Bulls game in Chicago when he got livid when Chandler use the foul to stop Rose. D'Antoni already admitted he doesn't like to foul at the end of games. Not sure what the mystery is about this. If Jeffries was told to foul, he would have fouled Roy and make should that the ref saw it.

Another moral victory, we made a good comeback but fell short. I think the Knicks have the best moral victory record in the league. I think the Knicks have the number one seed for the moral victory playoffs.

LOL, so true. Everything is a moral victory. At this point I don't mind but I think we may have already hurt the chances of getting a good lottery pick.

Two questions. Why' was Chandler starting? I thought he was better coming off the bench, because he didn't do crap!

And Q scores 2 in 28 minutes on the floor??? Does Lee have to do everything?
I'll never trust this' team again.

Papabear Says

Mike D'Antoni is the coach for now. But until he brings in a defensive minded assistant coach or he step up to the plate and play defense we will never win a championship. I don't care if we get Lebron and Bosh together on this team.
