if Chandler & Zach had played like this vs SA they woulda won that game too... Jamal's been carying more than his load this year... it's up to the rest of his teammates to do the same... they looked great tonight but consistency is something they still have yet to learn & that's not any single player i'm referring to... they need to start playing this way on the regular before we can get really excited.
its the difference between playing San Antonio's defense and Memphis' defense, i think. San Antonio knows how to stop the SSOL offense and Memphis doesn't and is young enough to get rattled.
no doubt, this ball movement would not have been possible against that tough SA D... but guys also weren't knocking down shots either when they were open in that game... we gotta get consistent play from everyone before we start getting our hopes up over this team, but tonight was definitely fun to watch.
this is officially an aberration... Roberson just hit an open 3.
I don't think we are THIS good, but the performance should not be completely ignored.
Early on Memphis was giving us trouble. We did well going to the half, but I wondered what Memphis would do.
Gasol disappeared, and D'Antoni dictated the pace.
We should beat teams like this, even with talent.
D'Antoni is a real coach, and we have some guys who are developing or fit well.
If we are off in shooting we will struggle, and SA is a team that will give us trouble because they contest every shot.
But many teams just don't play D, so we can beat them, as long as we can hit the open shot.
We would have beaten the Spurs if we hit more open shots, I think, despite their offense. If they had Ginobli and Parker, probably not.
Memphis has talent, but are vulnerable.
D'Antoni knows that his system, and ability, can beat bad teams.
Tonight is a prime example of what should happen.
now we're 5-3.
