i find it hilarious how some of the posters who accuse islesfan of baiting, flaming, insulting & disrespecting their opinions regularly & without hesitation do the exact same thing to several other posters who don't necessarily agree w/their point of view, including the very annoying twisting & misrepresentation of people's opinions by labelling them w/the "hater" labels & accusing them of not being a fan of this team.

here's what i'd like to see happen if an ignore feature is going to be implemented... anyone caught questioning the fandom of any other fan on this forum should be banned... that to me has had more of a negative effect on the overall quality of posts here than anything someone like isles or TrueBlue may post
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Shhhh, they're the only "True fans" on this board, so whatever they do is ok.

Everybody else's actions and posts are to be criticized and ridiculed. But never the "True fans".

I suggest you never make that mistake again.

I find it hilarious how the posters that will not use the ignore feature are bitching about it as if it is being forced on them.

I understand the wanting of ignore button being one of the knick lovers and all but that would simply be a retarded idea. There is freedom of speech and that can't be taking away. The forum would be vague and confusing if a ignore button was introduced. I say if you really have a problem with a particular poster when you see his or her name, skip over his or her thread or post. Additionally, I actually like islefan as a poster, because he is original and I laugh at his post because I feel if negativity is comedy. Its just the islefan clones that piss me off.

Hmm. I wonder how VDesai managed to reply to Cookdcokehop's message *before* Cookdcokehop wrote it?

More UK time shenanigans?

By the way Islesfan, you are a cancer on this board, and Trueblue is a tumor.

no need to quote it all....but that was beautiful.

My recommendation is that, regardless of an ignore button or not, we police ourselves by considering terms like "hater," "lover," "homer," etc, as ad hominem attacks; same as calling someone azzhole, moron, etc.

They do nothing to further conversation of the Knicks, they are used solely to discredit the other poster's opinions.

I understand we've used them so much that they no longer sting, so it sounds like I'm overstating the case, but they're useless and burdensome labels used only to dumb down conversation.

Papabear Say

Blue seats knows that with an ignore button he will be nutrulized. a nothing, nobody, finished.
gotta go bye!!!
Papabear

SupremeCommander say,

That's not true. BlueSeats understand basketball more than most men. I signed up here at first because I heard he posted here from BigC.

Maybe all of us are the worst basketball posters ever, but you might wan t to reconsider your position.

SupremeCommander

That's a nice to hear, thanks.

I feel like a fake because whenever I meet up with other UK posters I find myself the dumbest of the bunch.

And speaking of BigC, I got to meet him tonight, which was a real treat. That dude knows basketball.

Anyway, I know you're not in the area but keep an eye out for UK get-togethers and join us when you're around. They're always a lot of fun.

I've found this board way back in 03/04 and IIRC Isles and a few others (cant remember who they were) were the ones who called it correctly in the beginning on how bad Isiah would screw us with his moves. Not that much venom but he made his points. And if my memory serves during the winning streaks he'd get baited with threads that go along the lines of "where are you isles, see we won so shut up". I distinctly remember posts in the game threads going along relatively harmless lines like "Isiah probably hates Isiah cos he got dunked on by him as a kid in a pickup game" to remarks about his manhood and i remember once his mama (that dude got warned i think). Heck during some game threads thered be entire pages dedicated to the Isles bashing. So before we're quick to condemn Isles bear in mind
a) he's giving it as good as he got during the early days of Isiahs tenure
b) most of it is just harmless wisecrack

i told you i don't give a F if they put one in or not cuz i don't need a damn ignore button to decide when i want to reply to someone & when i don't... just seems to me most of the people crying for one to be implemented on this forum are the same hypocrites who regularly flame & misrepresent the arguments of other posters here & use that same excuse for wanting 1 to begin with... pretty hilarious if you ask me.

like i said, everyone has an ignore feature called a brain, but i guess since some people aren't capable of using theirs we need a button they can push so they don't have to hear anyone disagree w/them ever again... that's fine... if the mods want to put one in, by all means... i still say the level of posting has gone down because certain posters around here just can't seem to handle it when someone offers any sort of criticism of the team & persistently like to throw the stupid "hater" labels thrown around ad nauseum.

Martin and Andrew, you can close this thread. I will just stop by every now and again and will not actively participate anymore. Peace.

maybe a "report this post" button that goes to andrew/martin?

that way if a post seems out of line, they will get notified immediately and they can discern what to do?

i think we're all grown ups here and i like blue seats idea of self policing ourselves.

So this is reparations for the sins of the posters who have gone before me?

Two wrongs.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Kam used his own version of the Ignore Button last night at the game. He went and sat in a completely different section from the rest of us. He was like F this 404 ish.
