Isiah dodged a bullet. If he bulls this **** again, he should be forced to be Anucha's sex slave for all of eternity.

Edit: Whoa, Freudian slip. I typed bulls instead of pulls.

That shot of the Celtics Viewing Party was awesome. The guy looked suicidal.

That was pretty damn funny.

Can't wait for Bill Simmons' blog of the Lottery tomorrow.

Let the conspiracy theories begin... "Stern keeping the Celtics out of the top three to send a message to tanking teams"

It's already started over on celticsblog.com. Posters aren't happy:

I never wanted to say this. But man that seemed fixed. The 2 teams that people talked about "maybe" tanking both got f'd over. If I didn't know better I would say that was Mr. Stern's way of saying..."Don't bother tanking because it won't work. I'll see to that" Not that I really believe thats what happen but man Stern couldn't have asked for it better! I'm truely numb but we must get back up and move on. eeerrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

Sorry folks, this isn't rocket science. Watch Stern's every move since he became commissioner. It's about the integrity of the NBA. Always has been. Then watch Danny not only hint at tanking, but imply it...after the bizarre extention of Doc. But it was obvious when Paul was benched along with the mysterious "injuries" to Gomes, Delonte and Al. You can't overtly cheat the fans and the league....and sorry, Milwaukee was close..and paid the price..but nobody so flagrantly did it more than Danny, Wyc, and Doc. Doc is a hideously lousy game coach. But his crunch-time decisions during the last half of the season reeked of tanking...to someone who knows the game a little, like me. Imagine what Stern and the NBA saw.

As much as I hoped I was wrong, Stern did the right thing.

Usually not into the conspiracy theories, but somehow the three main tankers didnn't make the top 3. Then other tanking teams Minny and Charlotte also didn't make the top 3. But somehow 3 non-tanking teams all somehow each beat huge odds and made the top 3. I'd love to hear the odds that not one tanking team would make the top 3 (Mem, Bos, Mil, MIn, Cha). I've NEVER thought these things had any remote chance of being fixed, but something doesn't smell right here. Also (and I know people will disagree with me here) I think that's Simmons consistent tanking articles on ESPN made this whole tanking thing a phenomenon and may have forced Stern to step in.

during the regular season 90% of the Celtics and Grizzlies posters at realGM were all saying "we should just tank and fire <insert coach>". now they're mad because stern gave them the shaft? owned.

The probability that neither Memphis nor Boston would get a top 3 pick was 15.7% (for the record, that's slightly better than the odds we had to win the Ewing lottery). So it was unlikely, but hardly unlikely enough to inspire suspicion of conspiracy.

I'm personally not shedding any tears for Boston. I'm glad they didn't end up getting that franchise big AGAIN! It was just as sweet when they didn't get Duncan. Now this only makes it more painful, cuz they actually have some players that could've made a really good team with Oden in there. OH WELL!

I'm intrigued by the possible ramifications for teams like Memphis and Indy. I know that Indy is in a real bind now. They really don't have much flexibility to improve the team unless they move JO. I'm still very interested to see what Chicago decides to do now to improve the team. This is gonna be a VERY interesting summer as far as player movement.

So it turns out Curry's tip-in against Charlotte to end the season prevented Chicago from getting Oden or Durant (if we lost that game, Chicago gets 5th seeding in the lottery, which turned out to be the 2nd pick). Wild.

Tank or no tank, it was in the best interest of the league to see one of the Big 2 hit Boston. Boston honks need to fall back with all their conspiracy talk, I'm sure Stern wasnt obsessed with any notions of the best interest of competition; he practically handed the Spurs the semifinals because one of their players instigated a brawl and two Suns players stepped a few centimeters off the bench.

Nothing against Sea and Portland, but this is a disaster of a draft. Way too much concentrated talent tucked away in the West and in cities that dont invoke nationwide passion, i.e casual fans.

Agreed. Stern would have been cutting off his nose to spite his face if he rigged this result.

hogwash. the credit goes to francis.

he not only singlehandedly put the team in the playoffs, but that shot also ensured chicago didn't get oden or durant.

francis truly is the franchise and has saved the knicks.

what does knicks record have to do with portland winning the lotto?

it's not the %, but the team that pops up that matters.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Who do you take if you're Atlanta?

Do you semi reach for Conley to make up for not taking Paul or Deron when they had the chance or do they take Horford?

That's what Hollinger predicted. If I were them, I would trade down 2-3 spots and then take Conley. He might be gone, but you can always draft Acie Law or Jarvis at 11 if he is and you can use your 5-7 pick on Noah to give you an athletic center to go with your athletic SFs and SGs.

Btw, the biggest losers on draft night are the New York Knicks. Giving up the #1 was our best shot to get rid of Isiah. Now we're ****ed.

Haha. Sour grapes.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Haha. Sour grapes.

Just calling it like I see it. I think the Bulls getting the #1 would've been the best thing for this franchise. Sadly.

But it's done. It is what it is. Hopefully we get lucky somewhere along the line, because we desperately need it. I mean even after this draft, we still owe multiple draft picks to other teams and we still have no star. Yes that's a bad sign.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
