JoeC - don't look now but this young tem is playing NOTHING like the Larry Brown Knicks. Check the record.

and no, Isiah will not bench David Lee as Larry unceremoniously did during the six game streak.

deal with it

this team plays like a team

The team is playing good-I didn't say they weren't, but quit talking down to people, it makes you look ignorant.

Nothing like Larry Brown's Knicks?

They are passing the ball.
They are playing D.
They are using their defense to key a running offense.
They are rebounding.
They are blocking shots.
They are taking good shots, for the most part.

Yeah, right. Nothing like Larry wanted them to play, nothing at all.

If LB really wanted them to play like that, he would have started his best players instead of AD and Rose, or at the very least, stuck with what was working when he finally landed the 6 game streak. Instead, he decided to go with what doesn't work.

So I would have to wonder if LB really wanted them to play like that.

oohah

Rose probably was the best SF on the team when he was traded for and AD started next to Curry in his best season in Chicago. Whom did you consider his best options at SF and PF last season?

Just think.....3 more wins in a row and he'll match Larry's best.

Since LB had 13 wins for a 13/21 record after his 6 game streak and Thomas is at 13-17 without a 6 game streak I would say he has surpassed Larry's best already.

And Thomas has faced as much or more adversity.

Do you think Isiah will match Larry's worst: 10 games lost in a row, 9 games lost in a row (twice) 7 games lost in a row etc.?

I doubt he will match Larry's worst.

oohah

Hey, Captain Happy decided to call out all the "haters". I don't disagree with anything you said, but before we start proclaiming these Knicks to be anything more than riding a streak is ridiculous. They are playing good basketball. I just wanted to point out they played well-for a stretch- during our worst season in years. It happens. I'm going to give it a few more games before I get over excited and start calling people out.

Joe, I call thee out!

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

where are the doomsayers and crybabies?

Marbury 19 and 7 assists

yeah I said it

so sue me

I don't feel defensive, but you're jumping the gun, and calling out people who have differing opinions than you're shiny outlook on the Knicks, would make them-and yes, I don't have a high opinion on these Knicks after 3 wins when they played crappy for 26 other games-feel the need to respond to you.

Please do better next time. You couldn't even say a joke, you had to quote a Wilder Valderamma show?

I don't think M. Rose was ever the best at SF on this team.

I would have played Frye Lee, Taylor...and who else did we have in the front court?--just about anybody over AD and Rose.

I think both those guys were/are spot minute players at this point of their careers. Their +/- stats from last year bear that out. Rose can still do some nice things in short minutes in the right situation.

Actually, I have no problem with LB starting AD and ROse for the first 2-5 games while the rookies got acclimated, but it became very evident quite early that Lee/Taylor/Frye should have been starting last year, maybe the same can be said for Lee this year, but he is getting minutes.

Oh damn, Malik...I thought you were talking about Jalen. I agree with you there

AD complimented Curry very well, IMO, I had no problem with him there. I personally would have started QWoods, but I think Larry started Malik to establish a defensive identity, alot like Isiah did when he played Malik alot of minutes about 10 or so games ago.

Misterearl ease up bro. Everyone here is a die-hard knicks fan. No one is going to post on an internet forum unless they are hardcore. I know a lot of casual knicks fans who will root for the team in the playoffs or whatever, like when it becomes a big deal, but they can't name every player on the team etc, but the people who post here are different. After 6-7yrs of turmoil all some of us need is for this team to show progress. Curry becoming for the 1st time, becoming a consistent offensive and showing signs defensively for Isiah...even Skiles couldn't get him to this point...its a true sign of progress. Now you look at a team with Curry, Frye, Lee, Crawford, Marbury, Q, Jeffries, Balkman, Cato and you feel really good about them

JoeC - it's not personal. It's strictly business

Why is it I can have an adult debate with a poster like fish.mike, who I rarely agree with, but it never turns personal? djsu and I go at it all the time but do you ever see anything about personal attacks? Nope. Because we respect the others views.

On the other hand, there are some who are simply bent on being "right". You would rather point to Larry Brown having a better win streak than Isiah as the reason he is a better Knicks coach, and then call me ignorant for citing the improvement in season record at the same point in the schedule.

Crazy huh?

“Everything that has been happening is really just a credit to Zeke,” Rose said, referring to Coach Isiah Thomas. “That guy has really hung in there during some tough times and kept us going. And seeing his resolve has kept us all going as a team.”

Plain and simple. The young and unpredictible Knicks are playing better team basketball under Isiah Thomas

that's my story an I'm sticking to it

"Our future is much brighter today than when I started," Thomas said, knocking his predecessor Layden.

- Marc Berman

("knocking his predecessor Layden", where does Isiah say anything about Layden?)

"When I got here my job was to give us a future. Our future is pretty bright right now."

Thomas said making the playoffs this season would not "justify" all his moves.

"It wouldn't justify it," Thomas said. "It would be step toward winning a championship. I want to win a championship. I'm not interested in building a team that's going to make the playoffs. My goal is to put together a team that one day will win one. Not necessarily compete for one. But win one. It takes time and takes a stubbornness about it. I'm confident one day we'll get there."
