KG is staying put, I think, but imagine if we did the deal with picks + butler and expiring deals alone. We'd be a lock to win the east, and would be very closely matched up with SA. This would be like gift wrapping a championship to us. Again, not happening, but fantasy can be fun...

but when was the last time a team with a true PG won the championship? Teams win Championships because of guys like Duncan, Shaq,Kobe, Jordan, Isiah, Olajuwon, Magic, Kareem, Bird, Chamberlin, Kevin Garnett, etc

Chauncey Billups is not a TRUE PG

Also.. Detroit is a once in a lifetime team that has no superstars and all smart players. They were the exception to the rule.

and Detroit had a lot more than just Chauncy Billups. they were a complete team, smart, well coached and had all the pieces inplace. Thats how you win without a legendary superstar but you ain't building a dynasty anytime soon that way!

He's a 4 assist per game (until this year) guard listed as a PG. He plays great defense and is a tough player but he's no pure PG. I too would have answered Guns' question with "Detroit"; it just would have referred to a Detroit team from about 15 years earlier.

A true PG is a PG who doesnt score, instead hands out tons of assists and doesnt care about scoring. Last I saw Chauncey scores 18-20 a game. Not a dig against him, he's a good PG, he's not a true point though.

Who says a point guard can't score? He did it within their offense. Watch the way Billups played and watch Marbury and maybe you'll see a difference.

Does Chauncey play PG well? yeah he does but he's a SG trapped in a PG's body, same with alot of players in this league like Marbury, Iverson, Wade...

Because Marbury doesn't know how to run an offense or get other players involved. I don't know where you got the idea that true point guards don't score, where did you hear that?

Exactly. I disagree that KG isn't the player Duncan or Shaq is. I would say that KG hasn't had the quality teammates or coaches Duncan or Shaq has had, though. Put Shaq or Duncan on the teams KG played for and I bet his accomplishments are similar to KG's: one MVP, one conference finals, many disappointing years, great stats.
