^ Ya right.

And ya, we have one of the deepest, if not THEE deepest team, in the NBA.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Instead, Curry will sign a five-year deal, believed to be worth about $10 million in the first season

That's a pretty big difference with the 5yr/36mil contract circulating on some forums. Will be interesting to see the final figures..

The first round pick should be conditional.

This looks like a good deal to me - or a good gamble considering Curry's potential health problems. I'm not sorry to see TT go. Too bad about Sweetney, but he was a Layden pick, so you knew he had to go eventually.

Man, I really really really didn't want Isiah to trade Sweetney because I think this is his year to break out. But man, he got Curry and Davis (expiring) and didn't have to give up any of the new kids. The Bulls are gonna get obliterated in the paint this year (now they'll know how we felt) as damn near their whole frontline is on the Knicks now. I know Micheal is gonna do well in Chitown however. I gotta sleep on this one and see how I feel in the morning about Michael leaving us. Nevertheless, I gotta say it....Isiah's a Bad Man.

Ariza will be a key perimeter defender off the bench! He should be great under Larry!

If each player does what he can....this team is STACKED.

I agree. I feel almost giddy looking at the roster.

meanwhile, I'm not even sure if the Bulls will make the playoffs...

Hells yeah!!!

Well, what a pleasant surprise to find that the Knicks landed Curry in this manner.

This trade is VERY reminiscent of the Spree deal in important ways.

We get a star player (who is younger, and with great potential) and the other organization clearly did not want the player they trade to us to remain.

It makes sense for both teams, since both teams could lose out. I'm sure many critics will express a great deal of concern over Curry's health, and I don't blame them.

But when you are a team like the Knicks with the chance of landing a player like him is so low...that we need SOOO badly...due to the limitations of finding someone like that, under our own salary cap albatross, that makes it the perfect deal for the situation.

I really like Sweetney...and wish him well. To 'Fugazzi'...peace bro...wished you could have reached that potential, but we all know now that will never happen.

Antonio Davis is a good vet WHO WAS BROUGHT IN UNDER LARRY BROWN ON THE PACERS.

And I think it is clearly Antonio that was the real "surprise." (there were intial reports of a "surprise" player included in the deal from the Bulls)

See, even if Eddie falters physically, The Knicks are only worse off for loosing Sweets. So by landing another big ending contract, we keep much of the versatility we had earlier.

The worst case scenario is Sweetney clearly outperforms Curry, especially if Curry's heart is a major problem.

It's a risk, but when you can land a bruising, close to 300 pound, 23 year old center with strong post moves, and athleticism...on a team that has had nothing even close to that for years, and you are the Knicks...who are HIGHLY UNLIKELY TO EVER 'blow it up' (aka, get under the salary cap anytime soon)...this is the best you can do.

For that I am happy, and even more excited for this season (especially since I will be attending a few games this year again).

Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...
