NBA prospect Andrew Bogut was asked for specifics of the American attitude toward the game, what he does not like. Guess who's name came up? "There's no one I really hate, but Kobe [Bryant] had a demeanor of being very ****y," he said. "What happened with Shaq. . . . If I had a chance to play with Shaq or Tim, if they told me to buy them groceries, I don't care, I buy them groceries. It's a gift to play with somebody like that. Kobe is probably one of the guys that, everybody knows it, he's got that ****y arrogance to him, everything has to surround around him the whole time. Otherwise, he doesn't function. That's the biggest example. "If you're playing with Shaquille [O'Neal], a Hall of Famer, you keep your mouth shut and play if you want more rings," Bogut continued.

already calling out kobe...

Ha, I love it!
I never thought I'd be looking forward to a Bucks/Lakers game next season.

Man! If we only got that 1st pick!! Grr!!

I love it too! Definitely a wise guy, haha! With those comments you get to see his good attitude: all about winning. I love players like him. I can't agree more about guys like Bryant...

Lets go, Bucks! Haha!!

What if he falls to the Lakers?

I don't see how this makes Bogut an awesome basketball player, but he seems to have his head on straight... I can't dissagree with him at all, kobe is first rate jackass... he and his overrated wife... screw both of them..

This all traces back to an article that some sports magazine (SI? ESPN?) was doing on Bogut. Bogut and Kobe were supposed to meet up and part of the article was going to be about the interaction between one of the top NCAA players and one of the top NBA players. Bogut flew all the way out to LA to meet Kobe... Kobe stood him up.

I actually think the impressive thing to do would have been for Bogut to be respectful to all NBA players rather than calling out someone like Kobe even if he's right about Kobe. I thought Dwyane Wade's response to Marbury's claim about being the best PG was impressive maturity when Wade said Marbury is a great player but there are a lot of great PGs in the league. He didn't try to call out Marbury even though you could tell he didn't agree with him.

This should keep quiet every single person that talked aobut Bogut being soft, I was figuring the people that were saying that never really saw him play becuase he is anything but soft and now he's showing a bit of attitude, I love it. Man I wish the Knicks could have had the #1 pick becuase I'm really starting to like this guy more and more. I can't wait to see the first time Kobe decides to drive the lane for a mosterous dunk and Bogut is standing in the way, that's going to be inetersting.

my take is different than others in the sense that i don't disagree with Bogut but i honestly don't think he is the one who should be saying it.

it shows a serious character flaw within Bogut.

if you put it in reverse, i doubt very seriously if Kobe would have said something of that nature to Bogut

also, noone really knows what happened with Kobe and Shaq. we can only speculate. But if Buss wanted Shaq, then nothing Kobe could have said would have changed Buss mind.

think about it

and i don't care for Kobe at all

that's pretty similar to my interpretation above too. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a serious character flaw, but I definitely wouldn't interpret it as impressive maturity either

Yup, an 'nba-unproven-yet to be rookie' should keep his mouth shut until he has proven something on the NBA hardwood. I'm sure plenty of rookies candidates (and NBA players) have opinions about Kobe Bryant, as do many, but if you're about to come into a league where he is already proven as an above average player you need to button up ya lip until you hold some weight of your own. Right now I'd say to Bogut "Let's not get ahead of ourselves kid".

I'm probably Kobe Bryant's number one hater, but I'm pretty sure Kobe's going to go out of his way to personallyh embarrass this season both times they play. Yup, Kobe does have a huge ego....and now he's gonna showcase it on Bogut. He's selfish that way. But that's the reality of the matter.

When will we ever hear of a guy who can actually keep his mouth shut?

True, maybe some of these new dudes coming into the league could be a little more like Duncan. Less talk, more action.
