I'll give you the run down - a lot of it we know

He's is a huge player, over 7 feet tall and still growing, a powerhouse. He is agile, good hands, good feet. he lost a LOT of weight since the MCD game.

he took about 60 shots from around 14-16 feet and made about a third with no one guarding him. his shot was flat but as he moved back, pretty much like the 3pt shot he hit at MCD, he put more arc on the ball--he needs to work on his arc in his shot at closer range

he ran some wind sprints very well for his size, he's athletic, mobile, he showed increase mobility and conditioning from MCD

he was very aggresive around the basket ramming home monster dunks showing formidable force and power into the basket, athletic force

but he was never defended he did not play in a game scenario--he will only play in a game scenario for lottery teams who ask him for private workouts which there have been 4-5 requests and that will be after Chicago

does he need 2 years of school --yes--could he be a lottery pick this year, absolutely.
My feedback is that he has the BIGGEST upside of anyone in this draft.

Thanks for the info BRIGGS. I guess we just play the waiting game now... I wish we could have the draft sooner though.

So, Bynum could just be a younger, taller version of Butler?

They all can do what you reported. Especially with no D.

That's for the info anyway.....

Bottom line here is that there are no quick fixes in this draft except for possibly Bogut. I totally believe that we should grab Bynum and develop him for a few years. This is sorting out to be a two year plan (like someone here suggested) with the expiring contracts and young players developing. At least it appears so. ANY plan is good since we haven't had one for years!
We will NEVER win with Marbury as our cameo guy.

I think there are quick fixes as in guys who can fill a hole. Warrick, Granger, Wright, Graham, CV are all guys who can come in and contribute. Bynum i don't know if i want because who knows if he will ever pan out. He's got potential but everyone in the draft has potential these days.

He hit third of his shots from 14 feet out with no Defense on him. Thats terrible. But then I don't want him more than 5 feet from the basket. I like a true big man. Bynum is the man for now lets get others in to see what they got. And get Bynum in for a game simulated work out.

Knixkik,
I like Granger, but I have to agree with Briggs that Bynum has a mammoth upside and POTENTIAL quality big men are difficult to find. Personally, I'd rather roll the dice on a big with great upside than take a forward who will be a nice player. There is no crystal ball here. We gotta get lucky.

Let me say, the Knicks are STUPID if they bypass this opportunity. Lets go back 3 years before the draft. I saw Amare Stoudemire in person in NJ. I never had even posted on these message boards--here and NYK and I begged for us to draft him, and Scot Layden, if he did not make that deal, was prepared to DRADT Jared Jefferies. Not Nene, not wilcox, not even Butler who I thought had 0/100 chance to fall, we traded for a gimp and gave away Camby.

now this is not Amare Stoudemire, Amare was older and Amare is a 1 of a kind , once in a generation player. This is an athletic C with ENORMOUS ENORMOUS potential--more upside than ANYONE else, including my favorite player Bogut---why? because, frankly there are 0 people who have what he has --immense size 7-1 and still growing, what people didnt see at MCD was his athletiscm to go along with his massive size.Usually you will get 1 or ther other not a combination of everything. hes tall, but also has a huge frame, athletic and has all the skills, albeit raw BUT HES 17. What is this kid going to be like at 20? Let me tell you, I guarntee he will be the number 1 pick in the draft IF there is an age limit and perhaps without 1 in 2 years

if the Knicks want a body that can do more now --go get a Channing Frye or Antoine Wright, but you will NEVER have a chance to get a real C like this, no way, no how unless we had a 1 pick an dgot Oden.
I look at the advaced picture too. I look at top HS recruits going down 3 years for Uconn. there is NO one besides Greg Oden that could possiblu perform at a very high nBA level one day. Let's go for it here, dont be stupid, but lets remember the knicks have always been STUPID

Here is an article this morning from the Courant and has a 5 picture collage--just notice the body improvement from MCD to now, look at how long and big this kid is, he stands next to his brother who is 6-7 an makes him look small.

By the way, he weighed in at 282 pounds for this event and was measured 7-1 1/8 with his sneaks on with a 7-6 wingspan, I just got that of Uconn Insider. You can clearly see, that he is now a svelt 282. he mustve been in the 310-315 range at that MCD even , clearly much chunkier. He looks like a lean athlete now.

I believe the Knicks can make a trade to either move up that 30th pick or get another one in the mid 1st round pick. That definitely should happen. If that happens, we should then definitely draft a C with our #1 pick because: 1, thats our BIGGEST need, 2, we are not competing for a championship, we need POTENTIAL, 3, better risk it with a young center than another forward. I trully believe that we can get a very good player to help us not with the second pick, so I definitely would love to grab a potential good center in this draft. Isiah will kill the rest of the hope I have on him if he takes a player just because he is ready now and fails to address our needs just because the guy needs more time to develope. I hate the fact that he is trying to make it look like NY is almost ready for a run at a championship. We are rebuilding, that meand, bring young guys with potential of being great in some years. I hope he knows what he is doing and if Bynum is really such a great prospect, picks him even if he won't be ready to help right away...

What I would like to know is were the NYK scouts there or was Isiah there. It makes no mention of who was on hand just a western conference and Eastern conference.

The more I read about Bynum, the more I want him for the Knicks. Im buying all the hype! And after watching his photos, I can't help but say: the blue and orange will look very good on him, haha! Im all for it! Isiah, draft this guy or prepare for the Fire Isiah chants!

It all looks good, we got to get the Bynum chant going come draft night.

Okay BRIGGS, I just got to ask...if we're approaching this draft with long term plans, do you take Bynum over Bogut?

here's the deal, if bynum impresses, then HE WILL BE GONE by our pick. there is no way in hell he gets past toronto who desperately need a center.

i think he should be #1 on our draft board.

i will be VERY upset if toronto takes him...

if isiah likes him, does his research, he needs to pull him aside and promise him the pick and have him shut down workouts. if he doesn't, then he's as good as gone.

he just had an ESPN story dedicated to him. who the f ck get's that? that means he's on the radar big time for lottery teams...
