With Antoine Wright improving his draft stock daily this is only going to make that many more choices available to the Knicks at #8.

No one has ranked and spoke as highly of Antoine Wright as DraftCity has throughout the season, but it looks like he is beginning to show NBA teams that that wasnÕt coming out of thin air. A couple of excellent workouts, especially the one a few days ago in Orlando, have given his stock a huge boost, to the point that a spot in the mid-late lottery now appears to be his to lose. One very impressed NBA executive posed a very interested question: Òwhat makes Gerald Green THAT much more attractive right now as a prospect that really separates them that much? They are both terrific athletes and they can both shoot the **** out of the ball. Wright is only two years younger than him at the end of the day, and you already know what his floor is because heÕs that damn good already. If IÕm a GM picking Gerald Green in the top five, IÕll really be hoping that he at least turns out to be as good as Wright is right now in two years timeÉÓ

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm 6-7 205 sorry he's not 7ft tall but he could be an instant starter and impact player at SG and make us a heck of a lot better defensively and handling the ball!

I started a thread on this guy a while back and it was ignored!!!!!!!!!!!

http://ultimateknicks.com/forum/topic.asp?t=9347

Caseloads and Rain turned it into a personal argument.

Not before I started a thread named "Wright" before the allstar break

our attention was turned away from him once green and bogut became realistic possibilities but since they screwed that up settling for Wright could be very rewarding since he will help us right away. If we can just pick up another mid 1st round pick and draft a guy like Blatche, Petro, Martynas, Vazquez, Splitter, Frye Morris, Simien, Turiaf, Taft we're set!

of course assuming Bynum is gone before 8 which deep down I think he certainly will!

Here's what I wrote in the ORIGINAL TREAD!!!

On everyones mock draft they got him getting picked in the lottery after the highschool kids Green or Webster.
Draftcity compares him to Ray Allen or Eddie Jones. ESPN compares him to Tracy McGrady. Anyway you look at it he is supposed to be a sure thing at shooting guard.

There is no doubt he has the athletic ability. He has the shooting touch also.

Onr thing that annoys me is he has that lazy tag on him. All the draft picks this year have been called lazy in more ways than any draft class in recient history. Even people have been saying Bogut paces himself too much and doesn't dominate the way he should.

College Basketball is a coaches game. They run every possession and all want the game to be played their way or they get benched....so with saying that I don't think anyone should put too much worries into that.

Anyway anybody got something to say about Antoine Wright?

I think if the Knicks were to get another pick he would be a nice player to consider.

and GREAT balldhandling skills at 6-7 205. And he would instantly make us a better defensive team with him starting as opposed to the 6-5 180 Crawford.

He did have a good year - though not as good as Ray Allen's last year in college. Looking back at his previous years, he shot under 37% both years. I wouldn't use that high a pick on Wright. He'll be an ok player, but nothing special.

yeah but you can't ignore the fact that he is looking really good in workouts after having a really good year in college. and those boys from southern cal can play!

Lets say Bynum is gone in the top 7.

I rather snatch Wright before some other team does than take a project C with a ceiling that isn't very high as high as 8th!

If we can get another mid 1st round pick then I'd draft one of these prject bigmen

Here you all go again, we have Ariza at 6'7" and many other tweeners that we don't need. Now, if you can orchestrate a trade that will help clean house, I would say do it, but when you have Rose, JYD, Ariza, and others on our roster that are the same size, it makes no sense what so ever to draft a young kid like that....We need 6'10"

look obviously I really want Bynum but I'm just thinking about what would be best for the Knicks incase Bynum is gone, which is very likely. I guarantee you Wright will be a bigger star than Frye. And I have Wright slightly ahead of Webster because he is more athletic and Webster might be a SF. We definitely don't need any SFs and PGs. But we desperately need a real SG. Not as desperately as we need a franchise Center like Bynum(not frye) but we need size in the backcourt and higher talent level.

Splitter @8 is interesting though if he really impresses the Knicks, assuming he enters the draft.

Ariza is 6-8 but he can't put the ball in an ocean! neither can Crawford 61% of the time! and Marbury is very streaky and TT is TT! and Kurt can't hit his jumpshots in the 4th quarter when teams actually play defense!

Again, Isiah knows what is best and I hope that he sees just like I can see, what the need for our team are and use proper measures to provide or address those needs.

you must really put Marbury up there with the Lebron's and Wade's of the world if you think we are only a Channing Frye away!

Joey Graham is a better wing prospect that Wright imho. Graham is a man. he plays two ways, meaning he plays tough defense and if there is ANYONE in this draft that resembles Shaun Marion its Graham. Graham isnt the ballhnalder that Wright is, but he is superior in many other facets, incluidng defense shooting the ball, strength, body weight, jumping ability probably even or a notch towards Graham. Consistent tough player. Wright had a great year this year but was AWFUL his first two years in college. he is no Ray Allen IMHO, we could do worse for sure

Gunssss!!!! you know what, I think highly of Marburry as a player. I just believe that he has been in some pretty bad situations, but that's the way things goes at times. KG and Marburry actually had similar lucks until a year ago...Their paths have not been that different. Lebron is a prospect in my opinion. He has yet to reach the playoffs, so I can't put him in the class of Marburry just yet. He has to earn it in my opinion. Wayde on the other hand is different.

I am not saying that we a Frye away, but with a guy like Frye, we will at least be much closer than where we are at right now.

Graham can't shoot. Wright can. Graham is a SF, we already have TT & Ariza!
