the more I think about it the less upset I would be if he's a Knick (even at 8)

It may not be the sexiest pick but he's player thats tough. That plays with a chip on his shoulder. That comes from a winning environment. Thats shown he's dedicated to improving his game and has a tremendous work ethic.

I hate to see the Knicks outsmart themselves. Instead of trying to hit a homer with the bases loaded sometimes a double gets the job done just as nicely.

Fish when you think about it, warrick does make a lot of sense, an elite athlete, long, skilled and a winner... I think the same line of thought was used when riley picked Wade. wade was not the sexy pick then, but wade showed that he had what it took to be a fantastic pro. He showed it in the NCAA tourney taking marquette deep into the NCAA toruney even recording a triple double. People tend to pass over guys like this because they feel that at 20 years of age they have no more upside... or at least not that of a HS kidd, that reasoning has been seriously flawed. Warrick can get it done on both ends of the floor, he has the skill to be a "difference maker" something the knicks desperately need....

I want Green, but unless Isiah trades the pick for a bag of chips we should be OK.His track record at least gives us something to be positive about for a change

Warrick is certainly no slouch so I wouldnt mind seeing him here.I just hope he doesnt get buried on the bench and never heard from again.

I think Wade was a no brainer. Most people knew he would be a superstar. Warrick has more question marks and less upside.

here's the thing with Warrick.
He's as or more athletic than Miles.
What he doesnt have in a handle he's got in a post game. If he's a 3 he will kill opposing SFs in the post where he's got a real set of moves, not just TT 'I'm more athletic and can flick the ball at the rim' type moves.
He gambles some on D but he plays is ASS of there.
He's got a good midrange jumper.
He's a winner
He tough and plays with a chip on his shoulder.

Could he be as good as Marion? He's got that kind of drive, a little less skilled, but I could easily see a 15/9/2steals type player at the 3 that gives you superior athleticism, defense and toughness

I would love to have him, but do you think he can play the 4 at all, if he gains some muscle. He does seem to have that "Wirey strength" however.

if we are a walk it up half court team, no way, no how. If we commit to pushing the ball and playing athletic guys then yes. I like the options he gives you with rotations because he's the extra athletic guy we dont have to go to.
Marbury
Ariza
Warrick
JYD
Kurt
You put Marbury with 3 longer, athletic guys that will scramble and attack on D and race down the floor when Marbury pushes it.

Going for scoring?
Marbury
Crawford
Ariza
Warrick
Sweetney
Again... 3 athletic guys that will fly along with one wide body that camps under the basket.

Look... we still need SIZE and a lot of it, but Warrick fits beautiflly if we are going for this style of play. We could still possibly move up and draft Frye, Blatche and or sign a Steven Hunter/Gadzurich to give us some length up front

I think Warrick would be a fantastic first pick, if size weren't such a big issue. We need a big worse than we need an atheletic undersize tweener. We need to get BIG!!! At #8 we should be able to get a BIG as good as Warrick. Petro seems to have the atheleticism we need and the size. If Isiah picks Warrick I trust him, but I really believe we need to be developing some big's on our squad and by big I mean 6-10 at the least.

Warrick at #8 is a reach. He is a role player.

I think Warrick is a terrible offensive player that lives off of his jumping ability. Warrick is too slim to be a power forward and too underskilled to be a small forward. Kenny SkyWalker?

Still, he is a world class athelete and I would not be mad if Isiah picked Warrick.

But at #8?

As of right now I believe Warrick will be available around in the teens. That's why I so desperately want to try and get another pick.

If Isiah really wants to get younger. Getting that 3rd pick could allow the Knicks to get a freak forward, possibly a center and a shooting guard. That would be a quick way to get some talent.

define role player. Role player as in JYD or role player as in Marion?

Not every pick has to be a superstar, and when you look at the history of guys that are 7-14 that area is usually where good players are picked. Most of the stars are top 7. Do some get picked late? Of course... we have been over this, but getting a core player at #8 isnt a failure. We need young tough guys that can play, bottom line.

I don't know if he was a no brainer, 4 guys were taken ahead of him and really only one of them are better, and that is lebron, wade would wipe the floor with melo, I think he is also a better talent than bosh and surely Darko...

Bosh/Darko remains to be seen. Wade was NBA ready, those guys werent/arent.

Darko needs to grow up plain and simple, but I have a funny feeling he will be a force in this league when all is said and done.

You guys are forgetting that Wade was NOT considered a no-brainer at the draft. He was considered a question mark. He could have been another Dennis Hopson. No one projected him to be what he is now.

Really? I remember everyone thinking he was going to be all-star caliber after his triple double in the ncaa tournie. not as great as he is, but all-star caliber.

I love the Warrick pick. At this rate the guys I want who will be available boil down to Warrick, Splitter or Frye.

As far as I am concerned, I don't give a damn about who Isiah pick, because whomever he picks will be better athletes than what we have right now. As long as Kurt Thomas is out of New York, we will have a bright future.

Side notes:
I don't know who is in charge of fitness and nutrition in N.Y, but whomever that is, he deserves to be fired. There is no reason why Sweetney, Taylor, or even JB are out of shape or having problems with their weights. For that matter, there is no reason for any of our players to be out of shape. Our team is poorly conditioned and that is the reason why we have lost so many close games. A team that is well conditioned always finishes strong. Isiah needs to have an answer for that next season. For what it is worth, our boys don't deserve a vacation. They should all remain intown, particularly: TT, Crawfford, Marburry, JB, Ariza, Sweetney, etc, to work in their games.

Thing is, some ppl have him dropping down to 15 that's why I kinda liked Brigss idea of dumping KT to Orlando and getting us that midrange pick. Get a solid stud at 8 and gamble on Warrick at the 15th spot

It would be great if we could somehow deal KT for a first round pick. This draft looks to be a very deep one and with many tall and strong frontcourt players, so... bring on a new pick!

I think if getting a pick were this easy we would/will have one. KT is impresive in the stat books, and I know teams must be looking at him. if we can get a lotto for him it has to be a done deal. if we could get taf and splitter/ or taft and petro or vasquez and frye or perto and warrick, i think it is a winning situation for our team. in 3 years marbs is 31, craw is 28 and those young bigs should be making a serious impact on the game if they are scouted right. plus we would have traded h20 for a maxed out star like ray allen and we could be championship bound!!! Thats why we need picks, in 3 years these guys should be fully matured and 12ppg players at least!!!
