9) TOR 32-48
8) GSW 32-48
7) NYK 32-48

Tiebreakers put Toronto in 9th and make it a coin flip situation between GSW and NYK. But lucky for us, CHI and WAS are battling for home court rights these last few days and GSW plays the easiest crap teams in the league (LAL and Utah sans AK). TOR plays Milwaukee. It’ll be exciting, but we should finish “on top.” This will be very big if it happens.

Best options at 7 would be:

(MAYBE) Taft
Splitter
Petro
Warrick
Shelden Williams
Frye

Green is going top 5, he won't be around. I still say we need to get some size to seal the lane on defense and give us shotblocking. After seeing what Josh Smith did last night, I wouldn't be surprised if Zeke went after Warrick. I think Warrick will play a similar pro game. That Smith block towards the end of regulation said everything that needed to be said about this team. We have no one who can block a shot like that.

Most of the mock drafts Ive seen have have Green going anywhere from 5-8.Who knows? We may luck out but Im not holding my breath.Isiah may even try to move up a few spots.

Lets not sell ourselves short now. We still have a shot at the 6th spot.

If the Bucks lose to Philly and Toronto and we lose both our remaining games we end up tied with the Bucks...and I believe they beat us more times than we beat them this year. That gives us the 6th spot.

i think you meant to say MIL needs to BEAT both PHI & TOR, & the Knicks needs to lose their 2 remaining games for them to finish in a tie for #6, right Andrew? i don't see that happening...PHI is fighting for playoff positioning & i doubt they lose to the Bucks who have pretty much packed it up for the season.

good thing we won the past couple games, huh guys? we get to say we finished above the Bucks this year...yay.

Someone needs to help Herb get a freaking clue. Otherwise, we may endup missing out.....He is coaching our team to win games, and that in my opinion is too little too late, especially when we really can improve our squad in this draft....However, things have a strange way of working themselves out, when we play our best basketball we lose anyway..

still shouldn't sell ourselves short since we can finish 7th but still get lucky in the lottery and land a top 5 pick.

You know what, I'm going to say that some unnatural forces have finished toying around with the franchise and we will get a top 3 pick regardless of lotto position!

The lotto doesn't work that way. only the first three picks are up for grabs. after the first three picks are determined by ping pong, the last ten picks in the lottery go according to record. So we can move up to the top 3 (I think we have a 12% chance to wind up in the top 3), or we pick 7.

Andrew, I don't think we can catch Milwaukee, but that would be a nice gift. But if Milwaukee wins, Toronto might pass us, so it's a double-edged sword.

Ok, well Milwaukee plays Toronto tonight, so we'll have to keep an eye on that game.

I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that Green goes top 5. Bogut, Williams, and Paul seem to be locks for the top 3 picks. After that, it depends on the temperament of the teams selecting. I doubt Utah will go for the inexperienced 18 year old, especially with some appealing upperclassmen available at PG. Portland historically has selected players like Green, but with their legacy of roster problems continuing, they just might elect to draft a more mature player who could contribute right away. And Milwaukee seems to have put all their eggs in the "re-sign Michael Redd" basket, so it'd make sense for them to pass up on a SG. So if we pick around 7, and the cards fall right, we very well could have a chance at Green.

well, that does make sense...if Utah wants a PG like the kid from Illinois for example, if Isiah could work out a draft day trade to move up to #4 & take Green, would you guys be in favor or would you be upset that he passed up on Taft?

Its not that we lose, its how we lose. We blow leads at home. And doing so against the door mat of the league is either deliberate, or pathetic.

Isiah can fire "intern" herb and still look good for giving him a chance and the exposure for another post, or to be a top assistant.

I'm not going to get that excited about picking 7 instead of 8 or 9.

We need some luck to get one of the top three spots. I'll get excited about that.

right because most likely if we pick that late the player will be rotting on the bench for 2yrs before he gets 20mins per game. Thats why we need a top 5 pick. A clear cut star who will start right away no question about it!

well, that's the sort of luck that turns franchises around. but for the next three days, setting ourselves up to be in the 7 spot instead of the 9 spot is critical.

I would personally be pissed to pass on Taft. He's the guy with the upside we need. Green will take a while to develop and even if he does, where does that leave us? A guard based team with no interior defense. I want interior defense, or at least the prospect of it.
