Maybe because he said he was one of the best,not the best,not to mention he has a ring and is competing for another one.

Yea, I agree with you Kwaz. I think the key word there is "one of the best". Even though he plays with Duncan, having a ring helps when you make a comment like that.

Our little tonye is growing up!

Timmy gets the props on that team, Tony got a ring, and is emerging.

He is ONE of the best.

Jason is still the best.

Marbs is ONE of the best! Im glad we have him.

tony parker pretty much took over the game last night. he's super fast and can probably beat any PG to the hoop. i think he would be just as good as nash in pheonix with similar results.

I can't stand Tony Parker. That guy has one good game everyone is on his jock. He goes out and says alot of arrogant stuff.

This reminds me of that Tony Parker thread I start a while back. It's funny how the media hand picks it's golden boys and it's chew toys.

did you see Baron davis's line vs parker last night? I think baron had like 35/9/6, or something like that, If I were parker, I would of held off on those thoughts..

Please tell me you guys know the difference between:

I'm one of the best

And

I'm the best


Plus....Tony doesn't play in NY, his team wins...even when their franchise player is out, he has a ring. He can say he is one of the best in the league if he wants to.

the words "one of" changes the entire look of that statement as has been mentioned...that could mean top 10, top 5, top 3...who knows...it's all subjective.

parker is inconsistent and has not been that good to merit so much media attention yet, but he is so young and again, has that potential word attached to him

Well i think it has to do with him being a consistent player, and saying he feels he is getting there and can compete with the best

Marbury has proven he has no clutch ability and has been a bitch everytime the game is on the line.....and when you declare yourself the best and then your team goes 3-17, and only has 30 wins the media tends to have a story.....

Parker is still very young and has a championship, granted he has a lot of talent around him, but he has been a winner so far, and hasn't turned 23

Marbury got murderd by everyone and there momma for like 3months straight.

What if Duncan played for the Knicks this season and we won the NBA championship. Would Marbury be allowed to call himself the best PG in the NBA?? What if at the time he said he was the best we were 26-3 with Duncan would he be allowed to say it??

Kobe Bryant is going to miss the playoffs without Shaq. So I wonder what would Parker do running a team that he was the best player of.

Marbury, B.Davis, Iverson are probably the only pgs in the NBA who are also the best players on there team. Francis to without Hill.
