i didn't hear the interview but it was posted on another board the in an espn radio interview today, there are "indications" isiah thomas will step down at the end of the season.

first off, i don't believe it b/c he's apparently going on a scouting trip to europe (unless briggs was right and he's just trying to get some internation poon)

secondly, i didn't hear it so i can't confirm it. did anybody hear this?

thirdly, man, isiah would get RIPPED to shreds if he quit

maybe Dolan is pulling a Larry Bird & firing him when he is out of country to hire Phil Jackson

Has anyone actually heard this interview? Lots of bogus stuff on message boards (especially the espn boards) cite "espn radio" as their source.

I think it's doubtful Isiah would resign. But, if he knows Phil is coming in and sees the writing on the wall, i suppose it's possible.

if it's to clear way for Phil Jackson or a Pat Riley to take control of this franchise, then i'd be fine w/it, regardless of what comes out of the woodwork around these forums...

for his own sake, Isiah better finish what he started or else he'll never get another front office job again in the NBA.

I don't see this being true since its not even being reported on ESPN.com or anything. Too me Isiah isn't the quitting type, the only way I see this happening is if Phil Jackson really is coming to the Knicks but even then I still don't see Isiah stepping down. TMS is right though, if Isiah does step down, I don't see him getting another job in the NBA ever again, nor should he if thats the case.

if this was an actual report, it'd be in the little "breaking news" box on espn.go.com. that would be huge news. I wouldn't be shocked if it happened, but I don't really believe this report.

I'm waiting for the report that says the Dolan's are selling.

Oh I really don't want this to happen. Some people can't stand Isiah, but is there anyone you would rather have that you can think of? Don't quit, or at least wait until after the draft to quit; try and go out on a good note

i would LOVE for this to happen just for the mere media spectacle that would happen over the summer. at least it's something to look forward to this offseason

In the unlikely event that it happens, that is the most plausible explanation.

That would be way to "fugazy" to step down now.

I would blast him verbally to holy hell if he did!

Which dominant big man is he likely to acquire to make his tenure here "really special?"

I would be surprise but not shock, theres really no reason as to why he didn't step in after leeny got ax. Isiah is a retard, he's really gaining ground on Layden for the worse GM in the NBA.
