im sorry but that is an insult to KT. maybe Kwame brown was ready for a breakout year and his injuries set him back. But you know what from watching him, I sure wouldnt pay him 7-8 mm$ to find out what his deal is. Id rather have Chris Taft who is the same size and likely better and much cheaper if that is the case.

Also, I put a pre-emptive warning label on Jamal Magliore. He is one of the most over-rated bigs that has played nBA basketball. I know the nBA has a demand for big men, and that the play has gone sour in the post, but Id rather take a ride on a draft pick that swap it for him. there has to be better nBA post days ahead!

i don't want to give ANYBODY a $7-8 mil deal anymore. all contracts from this point on are MLE or less. enough with these overpriced scrubs.

i agree on kwame at $7+ mil - you get him for MLE, ok.

magloire is going to be on of those centers that's ok, but not good enough and will probably end up being caught inbetween the stud post-up game (tim, and maybe bogut) and the highly athletic game (amare, dalembert, etc)...which means mediocrity.

I saw some of the game where he was getting booed. Aside from a bad effort there what else set you off?

yea, I kind of agree,I have watched kwame and I don't know what the deal is with this kid. I do know that he does not have a clue at all out there, and at times seems un-interested. that worrys me..

I think Mag can be VERY good with the right players, and I think guys like Marbury and Crawford would be a pretty good fit for him because they will get him easy looks.

This is why not playing the kids kills me. Who's to say Butler wouldnt be a solid prospect (more so than Kwame). He's perfect from the field so far. Can we see him for 20-25 minutes for the next 8-9 games?

Or would we rather pay Kwame 3 years and $15mm only to have him hang out at clubs and get high?

Fish, Kwame will cost 4 yrs, $30 million to see him hang out at clubs and get high. Nice try.

But, yes, I hope that we play Jackie Butler. I can't even tell what his defense looks like because we've only seen him in garbage time. DL Malik and give Jackie his minutes. OR DL Mo Taylor. We need to get a good long look at both him and Sweetney in the last nine (tortorous) games.

My first choice would be to get Taft (ready to start at C)and Theo Ratliff as a backup (Mike, Penny, Spurs 2006 1st for Zach and Theo), use Kurt and Jamal for Ray Allen. BUT, BUT, if we don't take a C in the draft, I would be willing to move Kurt for Kwame. Brown has been a f---ing mess, but we need a legit 5 and I'd take chance on him if we had a coach like Jackson, Larry Brown, or Saunders. If none of those guys are the coach, say no to Kwame. If we can get Ray for Jamal and Kurt, say no to Kwame. If we can get Taft (ready to start at C), say no to Kwame. Kwame should be a fall back plan if better scenarios don't work out.

Atlanta? What were they going to offer Damps?

Kwame might be had cheap & if you're going to sign a 7 foot flyer with the MLE or part of it, would you rather roll the dice on Kwame or someone like Steven Hunter?

I haven't caught any of Magliores games since he came back- he reminds me of a better version of Nazr- At least he is a legit 7' and someone who opposing bigs wouldn't reach over all game long for boards.

I could see NO trading him for the right package-

were we to trade for him, it would raise the issue of what direction are we heading with this team- I would think his addition, unless dirt cheap, would only exacerbate the hodge-podge nature of our team.

If i am the gm of cleveland i let Big Z go, and i sign MCgaloire, and give Micheal redd the availbe cash, and take a pg in the draft that makes cleveland better than us forever, and keeps lebron there....

What the knicks need is to go athletic, trade sweetney for wilcox, and then draft Taft, and have acquire work with both of them.....you let penny expire, tt expire if your not getting a good player back, and get rid of crawford(loser) and KT servicable vetran

Marbury/Jack
Houston/Penny for the time being
TT/Ariza
Wilcox/JYD
Taft/Rose

defense, athleticism, excitement and a much better team.....

See Briggs, he is a man of honor, dignity a pilar of this forum. He can admit when he may have overreacted unlike some i know
'
but anyways, I remember when I posted that Kwame Brown is so overrated that it's not even funny and i was attacked so much that I had to get my virus program out and start looking at posters' email address

someone even had the nerves to attac the Greatest player ever in an futile attempt to defend Kwame. Kurt is no "stud" but for anyone to look me in my eys and tell me that Kwame is a stud... is ludicrous!

The guy has no clue

Yeah I must admit I was riding hard on the Kwame bandwagon. I get a little emotional sometimes. We need a big and I NEED to see a somewhat viable option, so I place my bet on Kwame.

BUT, i think with the right coach, Kwame could work out for us. And I don't know if Herb is that coach although I respect what Herb has brought to the table thus far.

Kwame steadily improved each year until this year, when he had injury after injury. There are many options I'd prefer over trading Kurt for Kwame, but if none of them worked out, I'd still probably prefer to start next season with Kwame than with Kurt on the roster. Kurt's 32 and doesn't provide much beyond what we already have. There's at least a chance that Kwame would be healthy and would improve.
