New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations Isiah Thomas announced today that center Jackie Butler has been activated and guard/forward Anfernee Hardaway has been placed on the Injured List with a strained right hamstring.

Butler, 6-10, 250-pounds, was signed as a free agent on Feb. 27 and placed on the Injured List on Feb. 28 with right patella tendinitis.

Hardaway, 6-7, 215-pounds, was averaging 7.3 points and 2.4 rebounds and 24.2 minutes in 37 bench appearances this season. The 11-year NBA veteran has already missed 24 games this season due to a strained right hamstring.

oh yeah!!!!!

Nazr might get the start since Duncan is gone for the season so it seems. Nazr is definately gonna try to stick it to the Knicks.

I think the idea behind placing him on the injured list so long was so he wouldn't get embarrassed playing his first professional game. It's all about confidence....a showing earlier on could break a 19 year old kid.

Cool, This is good to hear. We'll be able to tell if Butler could play right away. I hope he gets some play tonight.

are you kidding? nazr should love the knicks! they took him from the (basketball) hellhole that is atlanta, and shipped him to a championship contender! did him the biggest favor of his career.

seriously, though, i liked nazr and i don't want to badmouth him just because we traded him. we need a center, a butler-nazr matchup would be an interesting storyline for us knick fans.

as a side note, saw the detroit-SA game yesterday, and the matchup of the ex-knicks, nazr and mcdyess, was actually pretty interesting, a few nice plays by both. oh yeah, and duncan's injury made me cringe, looked real painful, especially coming off an ankle injury of my own. hope he'll be fine, unless we do another miracle run to the finals.

Is Penny really hurt or are they just trying to make more room for Ariza and Butler?

That's cold. That's like having your cousin die, and then having Jehova's Witnesses stamp down your door and tell you he deserved it. Whether they're right or wrong, damn, doesn't seem appropriate.

Fish has some kind of payroll/blackout obsession lately. I enjoyed watching tonight's game, though.

Fiscal responsibility? I know exactly what that is. It's that thing that other teams have to worry about!

Ariza looked really good. He had a jump shot from the baseline, a few other baskets, and TEN rebounds off the bench.

Nah, it will take Isiah more than 2 half seasons to put together a team that other teams wished they had
