when you look at the season as a whole, all you can hope for are some accomplishments. something positive to take out of a dissapointing season. what are they?

sweetney has been a bright spot BUT i think he's underutilized.

ariza has shown some skills that could be developed.

crawford has come a long way BUT has a LONG way to go.

kurt has been a solid player for us but ultimately doesn't play a role in the outcome.

i think everything else has had no change or a negative impact.

what do y'all think was accomplished this year, so far?

you're right...NOTHING SO FAR!!!

it was starting to look good until Herb pencilled in Penny for 35mins and Ariza for 7mins a game and decided to play Taylor during every 4th quarter, the most important quarter, instead of Sweetney. Sweetney starts playing consistently every game yet he still can't get 20mins a game... WTF!!!!!

All while missig the playoffs and most likely not landing a top 5 draft pick!!!!

Ariza is developing and we're four months closer to when Isiah has a lot of trade assets than we were at the start of the season in November. That's basically all that's been accomplished.

you don't develop with only 4-7mins a game while Penny gets 35mins

A backup center was turned into 2 #1 draft picks.

We have firmly planted our lips to mediocrity for the next 2-3 years.

Sweetney continues to be overweight and hasn't been developed.

Ariza has been benched in favor of Penny. That may help us keep him in the future, but it doesn't help Ariza any in the present.

Kurt was never part of the big picture, and should not be. We've made him the starting center, which is IMO his best position, but he's not the answer there.

Crawford's got a way to go still.

TT has been a disaster till recently, but yesterday proved that he still has sh!t for brains.

We did get a draft pick and and a leader in Rose, but we need to find a steal with that pick to justify his contract.

Isiah's best move IMO has been making Herb head coach. Lenny was an unmitigated disaster. Herb has this team playing hard consistently and up to about their potential.

Right now we look set to finish 9th in the conference. That will mean no playoffs and a low draft pick. Hopefully, Isiah drafts well and the players make an impact next year. Hopefully, he will then let the expiring contracts EXPIRE.

Im starting to come around. I still don't like the Taylor trade at all. But I like the guys we have in Marbury-Crawford-JYD-Rose-Ariza-Sweetney. If we could add some outside sharpshooting and some shotblocking we will be in good shape. I would love to move KT in a package for Tyson Chandler.

The only thing is what to do with Penny-TT-Taylor.

I wouldn't blame that 4th quarter lastnight on TT. Herb kept him on the bench until around the 6min mark and like Marbury when he came back in he was super cold. Herb completely ruined the flow and chemistry they had going through 3 quarters when he started the 4th with Jackson, Penny, Ariza, JYD, Taylor!

dude, you can't complain about not getting a top five pick when you said all along they should try to make the playoffs and Zeke will save them with a great pick no matter where they pick.

They tried for the playoffs and fell short. No they won't get Bogut or the chance to be swept by the Heat.

actually I wanted to lose and improve our draft position but after firing Lenny and trading Nazr for Taylor & Rose I expect and accept that they are making a push for the playoffs. That is why i'm so puzzled with the lineup Herb started the 4th quarter with for a good 4-6mins! nevermind the fact that its hard for the players to turn it back on after sitting for so long! great players only sit for 1-2mins that is why can still come back in the game and dominate!

I agree that our best move was dumping Lenny. I don't think he's the right coach for any team at this point in his career. We're in a position to get a real coach this summer. If Herb can miraculously get this team into the playoffs, than he'd be worthy of hiring. Otherwise there will be solid guys like Phil, Flip etc. available.

I think Ariza has developed pretty nicely. I don't think you need to play him more than he's playing. He's 19, and was a 2nd rounder. He needs to learn a lot, but you also don't want to overextend him because I don't think he's played this much basketball before. He only had 1 year of college basketball.

Sweetney is making progress, but way too slowly. He was very NBA ready coming out of college and we've been coddling him. By stockpiling power forwards again we're taking a bit of a step back.

We got some first round picks for Nazr. Late firsts yes, but a positive deal.

The rest...well, its been pretty disastrous. Now way we should've finished below .500 this year.

with that said if we can somehow beat the Heat at home tomorrow then they will have regained some of my respect but if they don't then its back to improving our lottery position for good!!!

Don't make stuff up. Ariza's getting 18 mpg. That should be enough for him to develop. Many 1st rd picks aren't getting that many minutes, let alone mid 2nd rd picks.

actually you are wrong. The last time he got over 20mins was Feb 22nd almost a month ago. Since then he's been averaging 11mins. Do the math.. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/trevor_ariza/game_by_game_stats.html

A lot has been accomplished. This team is full of crap and cap. Just realized this season that you won't win with Marbury and KT. Sweetney is a solid player but the team still doesn't trust him. Ariza may have a bright future but will be underdeveloped for next year. Just as Sweetney was this year. That the KNicks will never be over .500 to end the season with KT in the lineup. Crawford needs to be traded for a better shooter and overall basketball player. This team is just to stupid to tank. And some player have big contracts and big mouths. Herb is not that great a coach but like his defense first attitude but new battle cry will be give Herb a full preseason and camp before you judge him just like Wilkens, another mistake waiting to happen the Knicks need to take on Phil Jackson even at the expense of IT. Marbury is a joke of a player a loser, won't be innvolved in any way shape or form in a championship dream for NYK. He is not Pat Ewing not a franchise player and need not be treated as one.

This team needs to tank and get the best possible draft pick, If drafting Pat Ewing with the number one overall didn't teach this team on how to get better, I very much doubt they ever will.

you cant just look at season averages all the time. Again Ariza was getting 20 even 30 minutes over a month ago and he was averaging 11 & 4. Better than TT since you're so into season averages. Since Penny returned Ariza has been Averaging 11mins. Therefore his developement process is being slowed down much like Sweetney's but a lot more drastically because at least Sweetney has been averaging a walloping 19mins per game!

I looked at the whole season because the question was, "What has been accomplished this season?" If the question was, "What has been accomplished since Penny Hardaway's return from injury," maybe I would have looked at the numbers you're citing.
what has been accomplished this season?
