Nick Fazekas 7-0 225

all he wants is a guarantee from a team in the first round. I have watched almost every frikin player in CBB, and I truly believe this kid, if he stays one more year, is a top 10 pick EASY. If he wants to leave one year early, you say to him , Nick, we will give you this pick at 29, we guarantee it to you, but you cannot workout for anyone else.

You are not going to get a better prospect at that pick than Nick, or should I say the odds are against it. he does have high arches, which makes him his running gait look a tad awkward, but it means nothing.
Im not kidding when i say he handles like a G and has a beautiful stroke. at WORST, he would be a back end core player off the bench. At best he could be a 20 point 8 reboun 2 block frontcourt player who can literally play 3-4-5. He's got some Gasol in him, thats what he reminds me of.

I have a lot of confidence we will get a good player there. Zeke drafted Ariza, and when he was coaching he lobbied heavily for Tinsley, two very solid players late in the draft

He'd be an interesting pick. It's good that he seems to block shots.

I was actually hoping we'd go big with the first pick and look for a backup PG with the 29th pick. I've seen projections where Jack falls that far. I like Daniel Ewing. There's Louis Williams, who is a project. CJ Miles. Rudy Fernandez. Danny Granger (not a guard, but a long, defensive stud). As for size, I still like Channing Frye, I'll be interested to see how he does at the Draft Camps.

I think the best bet with this pick is to grab one of those polished college players who falls for stupid reasons. Guys like Josh Howard, Tinsley, Arenas, Boozer, Redd inexplicably fell because they didn't have prototypical size for their positions. But they had skill and played several years at great programs in great conferences. I say the Knicks should look for a guy like that, it's always the type of late first rounder/early second rounder that succeeds.

Briggs, I'm a believer. But why would he make a deal about #29? Isn't he better off impressing at the camps and in workouts and getting himself picked higher?

Come on dude! That wasn't call for...Isiah went to Europe to scout, isn't that the land of the white?????Isiah is looking for a combo guard that can play both the PG and SG position, but an excellent defender....There will many of players with that type of skills at 28/29

Briggs... here's another that may be available

http://www.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=19485&Sport=2

22 ppg, 20 rpg, and 7 blocks per game as a junior

http://www.angeltowns.com/members/nbadraft/andrayblatche.htm

He's skilled and has dominated. He's also a fairly local product. I think we could afford to bring him along slowly, and with our geographical advantage should be able to get a handshake and pick him 10-12

I think nbadraft.net has him in the 2nd round but thats a joke.

Dido... there's black guys in Europe.

Just busting though... drafting is NOT something that concerns me regarding Isiah. In fact I think ever player he has drafted as a GM or when he was coaching has been solid.

So you're confident Isiah will turn the two late 1st rd picks we got for Nazy into two good young players, but you give the Nazy trade a C-? If not two, than how many good young players is Nazy worth?

I heard IT was scouting Splitter also, I read about this kid and he also reminds me of a gasol type, but if we can get fezakas at 29, then I say go for it and make him a guarantee to draft him there...

splitter is over 7'0 tall, a little skinny, young and still developing physically, but has loads of potential, and is a very skilled big man, although those skills are still a bit raw..

You can only pull that off if you have a pick *before* draft day. That's another reason this stuff Fish was talking about about teams selling picks on draft day wouldn't work out as well as having the two late picks we got in the Nazy deal. You're not gonna be able to tell someone like Nick, "We don't have a pick late in the first round yet. But on draft night we're sure someone will sell theirs to us. So, don't work out with anyone else. We promise we'll draft you."

If Blatche is actually coming out, I'd take a long look at him. Though he may move up if he plays well in the McDonald's game.

Splitter worries me alot. I think Isiah should stay away from him. He has been hanging around the draft board for a couple of years now. Chad Ford has been going on about him for like 3 years. I hear that he impressed scouts when he was 18 but has been so so ever since. And the recent Euro "bust" or not yet ready for NBA players should have people worrying. I think nbadraft.net is a horrible evaluator of talent, so is Chad Ford.
Isiah likes Petro from France, from what I gather. Who will probably be there around the time the Knicks draft and won't be reach.

I would take the guarantee and shut up. When you are 19 and someone says, here is 2.75mm $ guaranteed if you stay home and strength train, why wouldnt you? he has the option to try to go higher, hell he probably WILL go higher anyway, but if we get to him early and he doesnt workout for anyone, maybe he slips to us. The Celtics made a similar deal with Kendrick perkins 2 years ago. If this kid was playing in slovokia, hed probably be a top 7 mocker--he's built a lot like kristic or gasol, but he can handle the ball very well for that size and move out and shoot it. His family is from Russia, so he also isnt an American pure breed. Maybe thats why he is skilled:>)
