couldve scored 50+ easy

but let me say this about webber. he isnt the same player--the guys they traded away in unison --if used correctly have more value to Philly than Webber IMHO. Isiah was msart to stay away from Webber--you can see quite clearly from his play, his knee hurts, hes having troubles pushing off and isnt moving well. the only way this guy is playing IMHO, is because he is sucking down anti-inflamtory meds by the boatload--cant do that for long.

oh well phiily won, but indiana lost--so right now we are 6 full games out of 1st place and 5 games out of the 8th seed.

they should move webber to center b/c he can't guard any athletic 4's. he is kurt thomas on roids. that's his whole game now - jump shot. he is a heck of a passer but he's 1/2 the dominating presence he used to be. they still don't have a low post player so they'll never be able to go far. the pick and pop will be their best offensive option. the difference is that it's AI to webber instead of marbury to kurt.

btw, that's still iverson's team. he had it going tonight but it's still with the ball in his hands and he has carte blanche. webber is now a $20 mil role player. i have a feeling nothing good is going to come out of this, especially after the philly crowd gets a good 20 games to see what they just acquired.

We all know he's not the player he used to be, but he's still awesome. He was January's player of the month. I agree that no one knows how long his knee will hold up for, though.

The guy is playing on pure smarts, he's moving just like houston was, slow and strategic, every move is thought out before. Maybe he is taking the inflamatory med.

He was always a good passer, but is office is the top of the key close to the foul line. He shoots, pick and rolls, starts a lay up, and passes from that one spot.

How don't see how anybody thinks webber was that significant of an upgrade. He's good, but he's far from dominate.

No, you have to be dominant to be the player of the month. You have to be dominant to put up 21/10/5. He's dominant even though he's not at the level of KG, Duncan, Shaq, Stoudemire

cwebb has generated more bs trade talks comming to ny then any other player in the last 4 years.....and imho zeke had no real intentions with his pickup. cweb was always da man in sactown, now he's only second fiddle what you see is nothing more than cow bell withdrwal syndrome.

would it really matter if webber were 100%? nothing changes, iverson, shoots and shoots and shoots and shoots some more, while other guys get shots when and if they touch the ball.... I don't see webber impacting that team any more than kenny thomas..

He had 8 assists too. It still shocks me after all these years that people say Iverson's a ball hog. He's 5th in the league in assists at 8 per game, and for his career he's averaged 6 per game. Ballhogs don't average 6 assists per game. The guy can score, what do you want him to do, not shoot? Ridiculous...

I think they are looking at his FG% and determine he shoots too much. I think they ran down the list on ESPN radio on Sunday, about the number of guys who have a better FG%. I think he ranks like 48th in the NBA. Another point was that most of his points comes from layups too. So I guess they were trying to conclude that he is far worst shooter than his FG even indicates.

I love how his detractors always point out his FG% but fail to mention that fact that he gets to the FT line 11 times a game. He takes as many FTs as Shaq for crying out loud. He won and MVP and deserved to win it. He beat out Garnett, Kobe, Shaq and everyone else and that year was pretty consistant with what he's done the last 5-6 years.

He's the best guard I have ever seen. He plays hurt more than any other player and last year when his team was lottery bound he's STILL attacking the basket in meaningless March games while his body is held together by runner neoprene sleaves.

He's never had a real 2nd scorer and the best big he played with was Ratliff when he was 27 and blocking 4 shots a game.

The best guard you have ever seen? Let's be a little more realistic. Guys like Jordan, Magic, Isiah were star guards who won multiple championships. Their three teams combined probably didn't miss the playoffs as many times as Iverson's has. I think Iverson is *awesome* but I would never call him the best guard I've ever seen.

I am not a detractor, I like Iverson a lot, but it is a fact that he handles the ball more than anyplayer in the NBA probably, that is why he probably gets a fair amount of assists, I think that stat for him is deceiving, but he still shoots way to much for me, that is why I said that it really doesn't matter how good webber is, I don't see how he is going to have a maximum impact on a team with iverson, webber was good with sac, because he was able to get the ball, use his great passing skills, go in the post, get his shots, and bibby was a good compliment because he could score 25 points and only take 15 shots as opposed to iversons 50 shots.... So when it boils down, Kenny thomas, kurt thomas, boozer, webber of old would all have about the same affect because they will be limited to doing what webber is doing now, taking jumpers as iverson shoots, and shoots, and shoots and shoots!!

yup.. and all those guys played on some of the greatest teams ever.
Have you ever seen Iverson live? If you havent you dont know what I'm talking about. the only other guy I can think of that possesses such superior speed to his competition is Michael Vick. I am being realistic. Tell me the best player Iverson has ever played with. Talk about the other guys and we are talking about Dumar, Mahorn, Rodman, Lambeir, James Worthy, Kareem and Pippen.

Thanks for your opinion

Gotta agree with fishmike on this one. From seeing him at the Big East tourny vs. Ray Allen (in 95 I think) for the first time live I've tried to catch an AI game every yr. He does things that just blow me away.

No need to get rude with the last line. The best player he's played with. Well, he played with one of the best defensive big men in his prime in the history of the game in Mutombo. He played with some good scorers like Van Horn and Glen Robinson. Of course, those players don't compare to the ones you mentioned but they're good enough that they combined with the best guard in the history of the game shouldn't always be lottery teams. (Unless Iverson really isn't the best.) If Iverson is better than Jordan and Magic, then he should *at least* make it to the conference finals now that he has a 21/11/6 PF with him. I think Jordan or Magic would make it at least that far with a 21/11/6 PF.
Yes, I've watched him many times, BTW. He truly is awesome. No one will deny that. Thanks for asking.

No one would argue that. I don't agree with Fish's claim that he's better than Jordan or Magic. I wouldn't even put him in the same class as those players.

he's played with guys good enough to get to the playoffs. He's never played with another star, and Mutumbo isnt even a star. His size changed games.

I also said he's the best guard I have ever SEEN. Not the best guard ever. I never saw Magic play. Jordon was sick because all his freakin shots just went in.

When I said "seen" I meant live. TV doesn count. BB is good on TV, but until you see a guy play live its hard to assess his game. If you saw Starks play live you would know why he was one of the leagues best defenders. IF you saw Reggie Miller play live you would see he's not just a great jumpshooter, he's one of the best in the league at moving away from the ball.

I know you dont go to games. Not your fault... we have geography and $$$ barriers. I pretty much stopped going when I had kids, but just started going back this year and thats only been 3 times. My point is you see a different game when your there.

Having seen Reggie, Wade, Ray Allen, Rip, Jordon, Stockton, Jason Williams, Steve Nash, Tim Hardaway, Payton and Harper to name a few AI is the best I have ever seen.

I didn't know what you meant by seen, but I still think it's a joke to call Iverson better than Jordan.

So give me your prediction on how far Iverson and Webber will go this year in the playoffs? I think Jordan plus a 21/11/6 PF would make it out of the 2nd round in the east. So, I'm sure you're predicting at least the conference finals for Iverson and Webber, right?
