Great, Mad Dog is gonna make himself look like an idiot again since he doesn't know anything about basketball (neither of them really do but Mad Dog has been bashing Isiah a lot because of the trades)

I really want to see what Mad Dog says now that the Knicks have won three straight after he bashed Isiah like crazy the day of the trading deadline.

Mike and Dog know college basketball real well. NBA on the otherhand they dont know and the funny part is that both of them admit they don't watch it but still they somehow can generate the opinions that they do. Funny.

man it pisses me off too!

I don't think they know college basketball all that well either, other than the headlines they read. I don't think they watch that much basketball at all. Especially when they spend their time talking about the Oscar and the stadium issue on the day after the nba trading deadline. You and some others here know more a lot more about college basketball. Like fr example I thought they even know who Bogut is. Actually Mike might because he's friends with Rick Majerus supposably.

I think what they are, are fringe fans. Smart enough in the history of the game to discuss it, but not really true blood fans of NOW. I think Mike was at one point a big Knick fan, and now it seems like he could care less. I am the same way with the Rangers. When i was a kid, I think the Rangers and The Mets were my favorites, but as my Dad began bringing me to Knick games and I started playing a lot of hoop and football at 8-9 years old-it slowly morphed around. I think when the 86 Mets won, it was like a climax to a book and subsuquently my viewership became less. I still watch 40-50 games and keep track everyday, but NO where near what I do with basketball NBA-CBB and football.

So, I think it is true that these people cannot have a fully informed discussion with isiah Thomas, it's almost ludicrous. It's not fair that they didnt get on Laydumb for nerly 3 years and have jocked isiah, but they get paid to make a racket so to speak.

Hey every knick fan is probably a litle sensative to any move, probably quicker to jump on isiah without letting things play out--caused by awful errors and the fact that we KNOW Jim Dolan could care less about the championship. Im not a Yankee fan, but I always like the boss, not because he breaks out the cash, but because he hold s people to very high standards and his goal is to WIN it all and he knows the sport.

I just hope Zeke is better prepared this time. I thought that he could've eaten them up last time by focusing on the expiring deals and draft picks but he didn't. He talked about how much he likes the young core and included Nazr Mohammed only to trade him a couple weeks later.

He is crafty, he would have been stupid to say, yeah btw, I am looking to move Nazr. If you really think about it, you got a late first round pick for what was a backup center last season. I was in Atlanta last week and they can't believe the Knicks got a 1st round pick for him. That is a skill too that people forget about, marketing marginal players into something other than what they are. Chad Ford, who hates Zeke, now calls Nazr the final piece to the Spurs championship team? He kill Zeke for that trade last year, now Nazr is Debusschere? Sports media is the new yellow journalism.

wow Dog just said Nazr is better than Rose.

#1 that is very arguable

#2 the trade wasn't about getting Rose it was about getting the 2 picks

briggs summed it up perfectly. they are fringe fans. to talk about the knicks on a talk radio show, you need to know the team NOW. they don't so they're better off not talking about it. but they do, combine that they are usually spewing what every other mainstream outlet does and the dramatic way dog does things, it causes all of us to be pissed. it's effective b/c that's what they want. i gave up on them a long long long time ago concerning bball. and in the other sports, they come off very egotistical but that's usually something that's part of the territory.

joe and sid are funny b/c they're idiots like us.

the new producer guy that gets some spots - mike mellusis (sp?) actually knows about the team. he didn't talk about the salaries concerning the deals but said that malik rose is a good player along with the picks was a good trade and that the mo taylor deal stunk b/c mo's a dog. nothing ground breaking but not the usually "$32 mil in payroll!??!?!?!?!" stuff.

They know baseball and that's all. Dog wants people to think he is this huge NBA fan secretly. He doesn't know half the people in the league. Mike admits that he hasn't watch the NBA, especially the Knicks since Van Gundy left. I mean it laughable, these guys were killing Layden for drafting Sweetney over Nick Colllison, who Mike predicted who be a star in the league. Dog hated the trade to get Nazr, said he was nothing but a throw in. Chad Ford is now doing the same, Nazr just went from being nothing to being better than Malik Rose, a man who helped his team win 2 championship rings. The question was put before Dog, last year by a caller, who said if Zeke brought in Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter and Shaq, you probably would have a problem with that too. Dog just laugh, and said that was probably true.

i guess the thing that frustrates me with mike and the mad dog is that they are so out of touch with today. they always say, no matter what sport or event, that it was better back in the old days. you here them talk about mantle, mays, and whoever and they think today's sports are crap because of this " hip hop" generation. they are so against it. a good example was yesterday when they were saying that chris rock was the worst host for the grammy's. they said they were offended with his jokes. they longed for the days of johnny carson. come on. get with the times. that is why they do not like basketball. what other sport reflects this generation? they are very biased and opinionated that it is not even funny.

I find that many people seem to go along with what they are saying. It would be better to have a segment where they are just asking what is going on, where they are moving towards, what these players are like..etc.. instead of having to hardball every single time. I think there was a lot of dissapointment with this season, I think TT did not perform at a level which we needed which hurt the team. I think they made a mistake going after Lenny, but most of all, I think they became prisoners of their own hype--all ball etc.... we will win the atlantic. I think that Isiah scored pretty dm hard here at the deadline. There is still work to be done, no doubt about--an exciting draft and perhaps 1-2 vet moves and some kind of ending with Allan and perhaps moving on with Penny in one more ending contract move[steve francis or a Mike Finley for a back up vet-vet trade? ending contracts?]

This is why Joe Benigno is my favorite announcer on the fan, and then Chtis Carlin comes in second.

Mike and the Dog will defenitly kill Isiah. Look for a lot of hardball questions and pokes at Isiah for the draft picks...

My big problem with Isiah on Mike and Mad Dog is that when Mike or Chris ask Isiah a question , Isiah rarely answers there questions. He goes back to "Expiring deals and Draft Picks"

I'm sorry but the whole 2 1st rounder thing is such a BS excuse for taking on Rose terrible deal. Big deal he has the last pick in 1st round. People act like he got 2 lottery picks.

What would you want..Suns and Spurs first rounds or Clippers 1st rounder in 06??

Alot of people's main problems with Isiah is that he says something and then does the opposite.

When he got the job and dealt for Marbury. He said giving up 1st rounder meant nothing cause he didn't wanna build thru the draft cause it's a crapshoot. Now suddenly when his team is losing he does a 180 and says how he wants to build thru the draft.

Last Summer when he gets crawford he says how the team is ready to contend in the east. When team sucks he does a 180 and says how it will take 4-5 years to rebuild.

Isiah is a flip flopper and people know it and when he says he had a plan when he got here and is still using it people get mad cause they see thru it.
