is there a player significantly better than tony allen available at #6?

if so, then no to this trade, and try to buy a pick around #20.

ehhh I want to trade up not down. Knicks need a star not more decent role players.

I still want to use kurt/TT/Penny and our two 1st rounders to move up and take a potential star.

tony Allen? Yuck... why Tony Allen?

Dont the Jazz have an extra late #1? I would rather send them the #6 (probably more like #9) for Matt Harpring.

Matt Harpring would be nice.

Do any of you even have a clue about what Isiah is trying to do? Why in the world would we trade our pick for Harpring??? Isiah is trying to get younger and more athletic. Harpring is a reject from at least two teams with a big contract. Harpring is not a star....Isiah is looking to bring in a future star...

How about Devin Harris or Josh Howard?

Well, my friend, I usually have trouble deciphereing exactly what you are saying, but I hear you. I like Matt Harpring a lot. I would trade him for TT in , oh 1 second. but he has had two major knee surgeries and will be 30 next season. I would definitely do something for him on a vet-vet trade, but Im not interested in anything touching 30 years old next year, even if they threw in a pick.

Im just throwing out a few younger players names who I happen to like that would fit well with what we are doing--i.e TOUGH ATHLETIC YOUNG NO INJURIES LOW COST.

Im actually looking forward to winning the lottery, the basketball Gods keep telling me this, and I will have a Bogut jersey pinned next to my signed Starks jersey that I proudly have hanging in my living room.

I thought Harpring was younger.. something like 25-26.. yyour right, he's 30 next year.

Briggs... Devin Harris no, Josh Howard a resounding yes.

Marquis Daniels is a little overpaid but he's very solid as well...

How about Kurt Thomas + #8 pick (we will comprimise, you say 6 I say 10) for Josh Howard and Marquis Daniels. MS is highly skilled point forward that can play all 3 perimeter positions. Josh Howard is a 6-6, 6-7 super long athletic player that works hard on D and can play the 2/3 also.

Marbury, Crawford, Josh Howard, Ariza and Marquis Daniels are about as solid as you want for your 1/2/3 rotation.

Keep up the good mojo. BOgut BOgut BOgut.

Does anyone else envision BRIGGS' living room with like 10 TVs all tuned to various college and high school bball games throughout the country, arranged around a Starks jersey?

Scary man, scary. I like Josh H and Marquis a lot, but giving up a big and the possibility of another big at #8 is formula for disaster. I guess the Knicks do have Rose, Mo, Sweets, JYD... but that would be thinning the frontcourt a bit too much for me. To do this deal, I would want to make sure there was not an iota of a big man anywhere between #8-20 that could possibly blossom, and I would also make sure there was no high school kid that I had not scouted (Amare at #9, Kobe #13).

its a potential problem... there is no doubt.

What you do to address is this:
Hope you can get either Dan Gadzurich or Steven Hunter with your MLE
Possibly sign a low cost vet like an Antonio Davis
Hope a guy like Butler (just signed) or Sweetney can take on a larger role (we will learn that in the next 25 games maybe)

Just grin and bare it and hope you can use TT/Penny at the deadline and land a quality big from some team looking to dump.

YES size rules and you should always build there first but I think having a YOUNG core of long highly skilled athletic wing players is a decent start. Considering they are all 23-25 except Mabury who just turned 28 you have 2-3 years to solidify your frountcourt.

Great trade but its not happening. I told you before cuban is not interested in kt. He is also too smart to make this trade unless like last year (with harris) there is a player he really likes at that pick.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

I think I'll wait to see what pick we end up with, or see who plays well during the last stretch of the season before I make an oppinion on those trades.

I'm not sure I see Dallas wanting Kurt Thomas as backup PF now, since they just got Keith Van Horn. There's only so many slots open, unless you want to take Van Horn back in return for Kurt Thomas and someone. Hmmm...
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

taking back KVH this offseason would almost be unfair because you know he trade deadline fodder. Not that I wouldnt but I would rather just keep TT/Penny because they have already been here. If you bring in a guy that knows he's not going to be resigned and probably traded by the deadline it makes for a lusy workplace, even though KVH is a good trooper.

Maybe both Howard and Daniels isnt realistic... just throwing some names out there.

I would love another expiring deal like that. It would be a great way to get out of Kurt's contract. Last thing I want to see is a 36 year old Kurt Thomas in the last year of his contract. He's already slow imagine how slow he'll be by 2008! But first I'll trade to trade him for a mid 1st round pick.

OUr best trade parter for Kurt will be Minesota. I don't know why Isiah didn't force him down their throat?
