i think anyone can understand what i am saying by just looking at the picture meaning. Power size athletiscm strength to defend the interior of our lane. I equate Williams as a more athletic Oakley with a post up game. He's not flashy, he's just effetive and he's a winner. Not a C, but we need a true 4 and 5 anyway. Mike Sweetney to me is a high value back up.

Tim Thomas is already doing just that. He's imitating Deron Washington flawlessly

Somewhat off topic question:

Does a guy get a "blocked shot" in his stat line if he's called for a foul on the play?

That's what I figured.

I've seen, "so-and-so blocks whats-his-name's shot, but is called for a foul" many many times.

The hard part is blocking a guy's shot and not fouling him...

so BRIGGS, pretty much like a young Antonio Davis is what your description sounds like, no? or does he have a bigger upside than that? an Alonzo Mourning perhaps?

At this point I'm open to anything 24 or under. If Isiah takes Sheldon with our pick I would trust him, he's never blown a lottery pick and has done us right his one time with Ariza. You must must must move KT for something if that happens. Maybe Patterson and Portland's #2.

I think there are going to be a lot of active teams this weekend looking to make changes, and KT has played very well and the Spurs, Rockets, Sonics and even Utah would benefit greatly from a guy like KT.

If we can move KT then Sweetney gets a long look. If we still draft Sheldon letting him and Mike fight for minutes is a positive thing.

How is Wiliams in the open court? Can he run, fill the lane on the break? Ive heard he doesnt have the best hands either and that will hurt him at the next level (they also said that about Ewing)

AD was a hell of a player for a solid 8 years... I would have no problem with drafting a 22 year old AD. you hope for franchise talent with a top 5-6 pick but sometimes its just not there. Look at the Stro Swift/Kmart draft. Yuck

i would say in the middle of Antonio Davis and Mourning. I think the numbers he's putting up now are very similar to what he would do in the nBA. Something like 15.7 11.6 and 2.7 blocks shooting 55% at the 4. He is a guy who is a legit 6-9 255-260 of chisled rock, but his wingspan is 7-6 which makes him play well above that. Not one ounce of fat on this guy.

damn, we need that Ben Wallace type presence in the paint to be the intimidator so badly!

Nazr doesn't know the meaning of the word "intimidation"...he's too busy "Samalamuninkum"-in' cats on the court to worry about knocking people down in the paint.

those are some impressive numbers there...i love the fact that he can shoot FT's too (70%) AND he blocks shots (3.8 pg)...put a guy like that in the paint & our weak perimeter D gets minimized somewhat.

maybe the plan is to trade KT at next year's deadline with TT & Penny since then KT will have only 2years left on his contract and will be more valuable

But then again I have a very strong feeling the Knicks will do something in the summer just to get fans back in the seat

he's definatly a guy that people either feel strongly about or apathetic. NBA draft has him 13th in 2006. Hoopshype has him in the top 6-7.

Like I said, Isiah is at these games. If he works him out and takes him at #6 thats enough for me. Forget the koolaid, I'm just looking at his previous draft success and the work he did w/ Indy's young bigs.

Block shots are a lost art. The ultimate is swatting in the stands, then screeming into the camera and get a new tatoo the next day!

Bill Russell was a great shot blocker because he would keep it in control, often retaining the ball or off to a teammate. THe power game is nice, but finesse is what it is about. If you need the power to acomplish it, thats cool.

We often loved oak for the "no ****" attitude. Intimidation can be effective, but its about the execution. Reezy got that finesse and many things he does won't show up on the stat sheet! The big boys are great, only if they "got it".

A great block is only one if you don't get called on a foul.

Since we are talking about picture personified...

need I say more..

Nalod is right. It's not just about getting bigs. They have to know how to play. Maybe that is why Zeke never signed Haislip and now Sampson. It's not like in the olden days where a 6'10" plus bball player is hard to find. Now every DIV1 college team has a slew of them in their bench. Finding one that actually knows how to play and has the instincts and desire is the hard part.
