I have learned to like the Knicks losing. The best thing is for them to keep losing, and in my opinion tank the season, but they won't do it, but it seems as if that's what they are destined to do, whether they mean to or not. No need to get upset. The rookies and young players are putting on a good show....

No need to get upset, fellow Knick fans. Sit back and relax and enjoy the show they are putting on, even if we are not winning games. Losing right now and getting Bogut is the best thing to do, because then we get a franchise center. It was not meant to be for the Knicks this year.

You're probably thinking, "Ugh, how can you even say that?'...The Knicks are just not that good. They need to be shaken up. I can see with a trade or two, and a new coach after this season the Knicks will be better than they are this year. Yes, I am rooting for them to lose so they can get a high quality pick. And you should too.

I don't know about you guys, but I kind of enjoyed being in playoffs and first in the division. Much different than what the Knicks were for the past few years. Since there is no superstar franchise player(s) in this draft so far, I'm not looking forward to that either. But if some people enjoy this suking, knock yourself out

I dont root for my team to lose. There are no saviors in the draft and there are no guarantees in the draft. If we lose and get a high pick and it works out, cool. But i am not hoping for that there is so much uncertainty involved in that.

gunsnewing,
I have watched every single Knicks game this season, and have been a fan since 1992. So I don't know if that was meant at me, but I am just telling you that I am not one of those casual fans. I am DIE HARD. In High School, NEW YORK KNICKS JACKET, HAT, ORANGE AND BLUE SNEAKERS, FUCKIN ORANGE AND BLUE LACES...And this wasn't even in gym glass! LARRY JOHNSON JERSEYS, EWING JERSEYS, JOHN STARKS JERSEYS, ALLAN HOUSTON, LATRELL SPREWELL....Sometimes I would wear jerseys on days ends, and wear my Knicks Jacket, and hat...every night would sit at the TV and just watch my Knicks, and when they lost, I would get upset and angry, and break things...Forget that man. I feel much better when I'm not mad or upset and breaking things after every loss.

We all know the Knicks are not a Championship team. I think in the draft, there will be few, but defenitly a 1-3 pick that can help the team tremendously. We need to get a center. Think about it. Tanking the season by MISTAKE, which is what the Knicks are doing, will make them get a high pick in the draft.

I can see it now:

AND WITH THE #1 PICK IN THE DRAFT, THE KNICKS SELECT...

Fill in the blanks.

Understandable, but please look on the brightside. Once we draft the first overall pick in the draft, NY will have a franchise center, and thats what we need.

SWEETS
ARIZA
MARBURY
BOGUT (i think thats his name)
and whoever else

if Yao or Duncan was coming out then maybe I would be more accepting of tanking. but Bogut just doesnt excite me enough. Plus its too early to think about tanking at least wait til after the deadline. let things play out

... and with the first pick of the 2005 draft the New York Knicks pick...

Frederick Weiss the II.

The only time you draft for position is when that player is the best player left requardless of position. You don't pass up an awesome PG for an above average center, cause you can always trade.

And btw LIKnickFan you need some anger management in your life... lol.

I still want the third seed (which the team is still in contention for) and to rebuild via trades primarily with the draft a secondary sources of rebuilding.

I have not been a big supporter of Isiah since I don't agree with the moves he has made. But as the season approached, I got suckered into buying the hype he was spreading with his cool smile. I also believed he had eyes for talent as he does have a good track record in finding gems in the draft. So naturally I thought he was seeing something that I didn't see in Brewer, Baker, and Sundov.

So, did it sting when it got obvious that this team was seriously flawed? Sure, it did...

But this team, as constructed, will not even make the play-offs as is because of too many reasons. And gettign a high lottery pick will be the best thing that could happen to this team. In the mean time, Herb needs to play the youth and let them gain valuable experience. Look at Ariza and Sweetney! They are getting better and better. And if Craw could start to use his head more and drive to the hoop, that's gonna be great. These things are more exciting & meaningful for me than barely making the play-off and losing in the first round. I don't want any more of that "ground hog's day" crap...

So, cheers to the Knicks losing this season while the kids grow & learn! Let's hope that Isiah does not make any stupid moves and that we get a high lottery pick, hopefully winning the lottery!

Too bad J. Richardson is out for the season for NJ. They would've had a much better record with him, and we would've been at the botom of the Atlantic division...

I am at peace with it, but I won't go as far to say I'm happy about it.
Right now I'm beginning to feel that the only way we can make the playoffs, is by winning the division. If the division stays this soft..that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Its like this every year. the trade deadline approaches and we start dreaming up all kinds of deals. Some very funny ones were posted the last few days.

We want change more than sustance sometimes.

As we lose more, the REAL fans, or HATING labels start. This is fun. Dudes go on about being a real fan and don't want to hear anything bad about Isiah. Then they ask if they prefer the Layden team! My Favorite retort. Those REAL fans will tell again how they have been around since the early 1990's, the good old days!

The guy who came on in the 1980's was just so grateful for the 1990's, they can wait again figuring they will do it again!

Us old men whom were children and remember the really good old days of the 1970's are realists and have seen too much Starphuching. We bought into the Spencer Haywood-McAdoo-Marvin Webster as savior. We were shocked at getting Ewing, and lived thru every reincarnation and hype that has not led to only real thing that counts, and thats a banner! We are sarcastic, and not prone bite into anything anyone says anymore, because words don't have meaning when they are selling tickets. Isiah's antics don't bother me.

The depressed fan rages after a loss and rants some funny stuff about how Oak and ewing would never allow this, and how tough we were. Then Camby starts looking good and the Dice trade vomit starts again.

Ultimatly this fan must curse Layden again, and the Houstan contract.

The Isiah-in-the-present-fan convinces themselves that no matter what, Reezy and Sweets being young and contributing is enough for them and how we got 40 million in expiring contracts that we can use to get more players back with!

Then there is Dido, who is our enraged fan with a hint of the Funkadelic! His pregame "promos" are great, but his post game rage is linear with anti KT venom and starch defense of anyting Marbury.

Good post Nalod. I agree with all that you have said. I first became a Knicks fan when I was ten. I am now 22. I wish I was a Knick fan younger, but I really got into them in 1992. And throughout the years I have seen them win great playoff series, like in the 90's, versus the Pacers, Heat, and obviously the jordon-less Bulls.

I do see that this teams need a savior. The savior could be in the draft. The Knicks need to keep losing so they can go deeper towards the number one pick in the lottery. That is why I root for them. I know this only helps the team. Much like how I wanted the Knicks to lose so they could get LeBron James. Granted, there is no LeBron James, but adding another young player will defenitly help the Knicks...Especially if it is a young center. Look at the Suns...young, young team. We need to be like that, but with DEFENSE.

IN the moment.

If Reezey turns into someone special, then we did get our luck in the draft.

Amare took two years to fully see his potential, and it is vast. Mcgrdy took 3 years to see it, and 4-5 to really turn it on.

So we may be in the thick of it.

Unless we get a bonafide top can't miss player, then any great stroke of genious will also take time.

I doubt Pippen looked this good in his first 40 games! Now Reezy might turn into only Gerald Wilkens! But we can only hope for far greater.

So look at the moment and uderstand just what Reezy COULD mean. Sweets does not have that kind of upside. Sweets needs to slim down. He is working hard and can be a nice player for us.

but We do need a 7 foot god!
