I'll give the highlights.....

--Lenny was physically affected by coaching.....He was forgetting plays and was close to passing out in Time Outs....alot like, but not as bad as, Hubie Brown

--Blamed whole Knicks mess on Layden. He created Payroll mess. He really bashed Layden....Houston's contract was a big issue, obviously.

--Isiah will not coach this team. He thinks Zeke like the power of being a GM too much. He also complimented what Zeke has done...getting players that can be seen as tradeable assets.

--Named Larry Brown as successor. But that is his PERSONAL OPINION.....it is not fact based.

--Says Zeke's interest in Phil Jackson has slipped.

--Marbury and Craw can not be a championship back court...they can be a perennial playoff back court. That is a direct quote.

--Knicks will rebuild from the ground up, which is why LB may coach. He is a teacher, and likes building teams.

Those are just the highlights....

you can pencil Larry Brown's name in if the pistons don't repeat. and they wont because the Spurs and Heat are better!

He also said if Herb is VERY successful, he has a chance to keep the job, but he has to surpass ALL expectations.....

I'd love to bring in Larry. Marbs seemed to really respect him this summer. Maybe LB can get his message through without going through Isiah.
I won't be expecting Larry Brown, but it would be a great surprise.

Larry Brown will never play Sweetney and Ariza.

Wow! If this is true, then I am glad he resigned. On the FAN this AM, MADDOG was saying that Isiah pushed him out. I did not see or hear the press ocnference but if true, then the team may bounce back more quicly than many expect.

Lets face it, if Lenny coached the end of about 5-6 games better, they would be 22-17 not 17-22.

I am looking forward to the new voice.

I am probably the happiest Knicks fan on this board to read the good news about Lenny. I will be even happier when Kurt Thomas is traded....

Word to Herb: switch your lineup. Marb, Crawf, JYD, Sweetney, and Nazr should be the starters. Kurt and TT in the lineup is what got us to where we are at right now. Don't be scared, do your things. You will be much more successful than Lenny ever was with the Knicks...We will finally have the much need identity that we have been looking for. You were a big man that played hard, push our big men to play hard also....Good Luck

Knicks will win 3 out of the next 4 games...
The true Knickabocker..........

I'm not worried because Sweetney will be starting this year and KT will be gone soon.

the ideal rebuilding lineup would be:
C-Nazr
PF-Sweets
SF-Ariza
SG-Crawford
PG-Steph

it is important that we play this lineup after the trade deadline so that we can get a head start into next year because these guys will be on the team next year. TT & KT won't. All we need is a center at the deadline or in the offseason. Larry Brown will do wonders with that team. If Sweetney was a rookie then I'd be worried about Larry having him rot on the bench but it'll be his 3rd year in the league and besides Kurt and TT are not as big an obstacle as the Wallaces are to Darko.

uh oh, if you watch the ESPNEWS thing with Steven Smith saying Lenny was passing out and forgetting plays, you are gonna blow a fuse. You already call him senile, I can just see you flip when you hear it with your own ears.

if you believe the reports Zeke turned his attention away from Phil. they problably dont like each other. Zeke has to big an ego. Once Phil comes to New York. it is no longer Isiah's show. Larry Brown and Isiah are more on the same level so it would be easier for Zeke to stomach. In a perfect world Zeke will take the hit and bring in Phil. He still maight who knows? we shall find out..

If Isiah does not want phil cuz Isiah got too much ego, then Isiah must go! THe goal is to get the best coach for this team. Anybody that plays for phil is either a better basketball player or a better person for playing for him. Kobe was too imature to know when a mentor with both basketball skills and life skills reaches out to make you a better human being.

All Isiah has acomplished here was mob up Laydens mess, and spend big money on different players. He has achieved nothing except creat a false buzz (thus far) to raise viewer ship. I expect, hope and root for Isiah, as I did for Layden to not just make moves, but make the right moves. Isiah has only been at it just over a year, but he gave lenny the wrong players with Isiahs coaches and paid him a boat load of money to come in and make him look good for messing up the chaney/fratello thing. Lenny not coaching in my eyes changes non of the fundamental things that have happened here.

me too dude...me too...Lenny was just not the right guy to take this team to the next level, & that's how i've felt since he was hired...

i think Herb is a good choice for the interim since he's a fan favorite...maybe now Isiah will look to rebuild knowing that the fans will be more patient w/an interim head coach?
