Ariza with 18 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal while only surrendering 1 turnover, while playing good defense, and with JYD being an energy guy, there should be no reason other than injury where Tim Thomas plays again.
There's just no point. The backcourt will score , we need defense from small forward, and Ariza and JYD provide it while limiting the boneheaded plays. TT should rot on the bench until his contract expires, I feel really strongly about this.

12.9million is good enough for me. I do believe Ariza should get the starting nod. Becuase he has earned it with flat out hustle and hard work. He worked his ass off on his jumper all season and has develop a nice spot up shot. Im hopeing next season he learns how to shoot off the dribble though I might be getting ahead of myself.
Tim Thomas can still bring matchup problems to opposing teams.

I'm telling you.....no other team in the league would still be trying to showcase Timmy.
Ariza is willing to play now with the intesity needed to compete. Timmy has that whatever approach.
Getting Wally for KT sounds alot better after watching the Knicks against the Bulls. The Knicks have Sweetney, JYD and Baker to fall back on. Sweetney and JYD have proved they can hit the jumper just as well as KT. The thing is JYD and Sweets score more on the inside which is what the Knicks need.......With Marbs, Houston and Craw who needs a power forward shooting 18 ft jumper?
Timmy should be Shandon Andersoned.

JYD and Sweets are not as good as KT. Sweets has the chance to improve and be better but JYD has had plenty of time and he is what he is - a nice hustle player off the bench. Sweets has potential but he commits a lot of turnovers and is weak defensively.
KT isn't great but he's solid and right now better then JYD or Sweets.

as for tim, NOBODY saw this coming. he got hurt in the playoffs and ran his mouth. but then he worked hard in the offseason to get stronger and get ready for the season. he had a TON of offcourt problems to deal with. everybody is human and it does effect you. he tried to play through it and it's OBVIOUS that it's hurt him and he's regressed big time. he probably should've taken time off, but to "save" him, we need to bring him off the bench so he doesn't have any pressure on him. i still think tim can be a decent piece. worth 12.9 mil, hell no. but he CAN help, just not what we were expecting of him.
he's gone within the next 12-15 months anyway...

like i've been saying along, put JYD in as a starter and he will be exposed. There's a reason why he's been traded so many times. he hurts you offensivey. and teams like chicago can't afford to hinder the developement of their draft picks on a hustle bench player. I thought once TT went down Ariza should've been the starter because JYD is awesome off the bench because of his hustle. Ariza has skill as well as hustle. Another blunder mismanagement of the roster. I don't know if it's Lenny or IT calling the shots on the starting lineup and roations. My bet its Lenny and he must be fired because he's so far from being the right coach for this team. Start Ariza. TT hopefully will find his role off the bench. JYD knows his role and play Allan Houston as little as possible.

Sometimes it is so upsetting to see TT on the court. I look at the guy and he has the perfect NBA build. The guy is 6-10 he is bigger than most guys at the 3. It is so frustrating to see him struggling the way he is. He has gotten a little better lately but still he is underachiveing big time.
Everytime my friends would talk about TT being a waste I would always get into an argument with them because He has so much potential. He reminds me of a poor mans Kevin Garnett. To me he could be that good.
TT should be the 6th man on this team.
Start: Marbury JC JYD Kurt or Sweets Nazr
Ariza and Sweets need PT. Thats the only way they are going to get better.

he did a fine job in his 2 starts before the Bulls game, averaging 13 points, 8.5 rebounds & 2 steals, along w/making huge hustle plays, injecting energy into a stagnant Knick defense & basically being a total PITA for the opposition.

Sweetney's learning curve will flatten out quicker if he gets more PT. If he stareted from Day One he would be a better player right now, and the Knicks would be a better team. Since this isn't a win now team, that should be the goal. It doesn't matter if the Knicks lose a few more games in the short run.

Anyway, back to the topic of this thread. I agree! With Ariza and JYD, TT should be buried on the bench! He bring nothing to the table. His "potential" will never be realized. He's already in the prime years of his athletic career, and he's not any better. Comparisons to KG and Kobe are ridiculous. Those guys are naturals. Put the ball in their hands and beautiful things happen. TT gets the ball and looks like a spaz, turning it over or shooting low percentages. Can't even rebound at 6-10. Cut your loses, bury him. Let Ariza gain experience, and JYD bring his Starks-like attitude.
