This guy is a fan favorite. He is my favorite Knick next to Ariza. The past two games, he has been playing with a ton of energy. I say keep him in the starting lineup. He is very defensive minded which is great for a team in where there are so many shooters. By watching JYD, I want him to get the ball EVERY SINGLE time. Stephon Marbury is the core of the team, and Jerome is the heart and soul. There is nothing negative to say about him. He is the type of player that makes you want to give him a big hug after a basket. He seems to love it here, and I would hate to see him go in a trade. Him, Stephon, and Jamal are the nucleous of the Knicks team, which core players such as Nazr, and Kurt Thomas. I would be sad to ever see him go... If it were in a deal for Curry, I would say NO and add Tim Thomas instead. Sorry Tiny Tim.

the only problem is he can't play too many minutes, and that he's 31 or 32. If only there were more scrappy guys like him around to sign...

There is no reason why TT should start anymore. Unfortunetly JYD is going to get tired, but I think TT will be great off the bench as a back-up. JYD just starts the game right and sometimes everyone tries to follow him; TT just sort of coasts along until he sits.

i'm a huge knick fan but i swear i can't stand to see threads proclaiming a junk yard dog as the heart and soul of this team. you got to be kidding me and i can't let you do that

allan houston is the heart and soul of this team. and you can quote me

"Anyone who sits around waiting to hit the lottery, whether basketball or real life, in order to better their position is a loser."

The heart and soul of the team is Sweetney my friend. If you all will just open your eyes. JYD is all heaart the man plays all out and you have to love the hustle he brings. If and when Sweetney gets back he needs to be in the starting lineup. There is no ifs and buts about it. This team goes as Sweetney goes. He needs to be the focal point of the team not Marbury, H20, Crawford, TT, Nazr and definitely not KT.

I meant the focus shouldn't be on Ariza either lol
Sweetney is the xfactor in making us a good team as opposed to a kurt thomas/allan houston mediocre 30 win team

The heart and soul of this team is.... Wait a minute! Tell me when the team gets a heart and a soul first and then we will talk about it. This team still has no identity. Just a .500 team trying to find itself...

the key members of the 30 win squads of the 2001-2003 seasons are what's holding this team back. Allan Houston and Kurt Thomas

The identity is Sweetney. But they don't know it yet. Yes I agree Ariza shouldn't be the focal point either. No perimeter player should be the focal point. What you are seeing now is Isiah and Wilkens at work. These two clown are holding the team back. All I got to say is keep holding the young player back and pretty soon the garden is gonna be empty just like it was when Layden was here. I don't know if you guys are seeing it or not but IT is doing the same thing Layden did sell his soul for a meaningless playoff birth. Same bull crap all over again.

In 1996, the Knicks had three first round picks in the middle of the round. Grunfeld passed on JYD and Ilgauskas, and instead took John Wallace, Walter McCarty, and Dontae Jones:

btw, The Knicks missed out on a chance to draft Jermaine O'Neal by one pick, and Steve Nash by three picks. Too bad they didn't trade up.

That clown, Isiah, turned this team around from nowhere to one that is a player, or maybe two, away from being a very good team. He inherited a team in without hope. To call him a clown after a year on the job is absurd.

Turned it around just what the hell did he turn around. Only thing that happened was a third division was created and thats saving his hide. Do you realize had the divisions stood pat the Knicks would be struggling with the last spot for the playoffs. Where is the improvement.

Player or two from contending please I could have said that about Layden too. Everyone forgets that it was Layden that set the ground for Marbury trade so lets give him some credit for that deal. If anything Layden would have waited the Suns out and probably saved a pick and would have given less up. You guys need to stop buying into everything Isiah throws at you.

JYD was one of the few bright spots effort-wise tonight. That cat needs to start @ the 3 for us over TT, without a doubt.

We need more players like him on this team.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

layden laid the groundwork and then was fired.

what does that tell you

no wait

layden buried a franchise. isiah has built a playoff foundation and got us younger and more athletic

how dare you praise layden and down isiah.

you remind me of the guy that smoked for 40 years and then tried to sue the tobacco company when he found out he had cancer

you can't be serious

i guess you are one of those guys who likes to side with the wrong side. 1 million fans can't be wrong
