17 (15) Knicks 17-17 The committee's MSG spies offered a clear warning: Don't be surprised if Wilkens goes this week. If Isiah had a clear-cut interim option, it probably would have happened already.

no way... Isiah knows Jesus Christ isnt getting this team to win 50 games. I will certainly agree that Lenny has made some weak moves or non-moves but look at how well TT played last year vs. this year. How is this Lenny's fault? And the injuries hurt when your not great to start out with.

Watch Lenny pull a Hubie Brown "I'm getting too old..." stunt and it all will flow smoothly.

Question is, who will take his spot?
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I doubt Lenny gets fired. I'm sure Isiah is going to tell him thanks for your help this year, but I've think Lenny quits himself. I can't see Isiah firing his own guy...

I will no longer waist my time watching this team until either Lenny or Kurt Thomas is no longer a member of the Knicks......

It will be very hard to rid ourselves with Houston. However, Kurt and Lenny are the easiest to let go. As far as I am concerned, Lenny can retire immediately.......

I think that you have misunderstood the reason why I want to see Kurt out of N.Y. I dont' blame any of our losses on Kurt, but with kurt on the court, it minimizes the effects that other players could have had. I remember the days when Stackhouse used to be with Detroit, he used to putup big numbers, but his team could have never gone past the first or second round. However, once they acquired Hamilton, the game became much smoother for the other talents that they had on that roster. Prince came in and showed the world that he was a force to reckon with. Kurt puts up big numbers, but his numbers are not good enough at his position to help us win consistantly.

... ridiculous to blame KT for Knicks woes.

Houston is "painful" to watch. TT too. If those two don't play, and we get back JC and Sweets... we're a decent team in the East. Bottom line.

Man I really dislike that Houston guy! He has been annoying me and many other Knick fans (generally those who dont belong to this forum) for years! Now we add TT to that list. Talk about a group of players with no heart and complete refusal to do anything on the floor! Better keep Kurt's name out of that list. He is a very good, hard working, over achieving New York Knick. He is not the best person for the PF position but he is not even close to being the reason we are losing.

Define decent Pike. Decent IMO is 4th,5th or 6th in the east and capable of winning out first round series in the playoffs. Playoff matchups: the knicks cannot beat any team in the playoffs from the east. The lowest ranked is Boston and we got beat by them twice already this year.

You are generally right with your observarions but I disagree with you. Getting Craw back will be huge. He will really remind us of what a real SG is but what will Sweetney do to help? We will still be the same .500 team that will lose in the first round of the playoffs.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

... with JC and Sweetney (and without Houston and TT), I say we would win 44 games, win the Atlantic and possibly win one round in playoffs.

If the Knicks were to continue to duplicate last nights effort repeatedly for a five or six game loosing streak against weak opposition, I could see Isiah firing Lenny.

But, quite frankly, Lenny has done some good things with this team in terms of offense.

And the Knicks will probably come out with great energy their next game.

Which begs the question- Why is it this group of players can come out and put up such radically different performances? One night, they blow out Orlando, the next they come out like last night???

Isn't it the coaches job in any sport to get the best out of his players, to motivate them?

Some will say its the athletes that need to be motivated- but look at what Bill Belichek has down throughout his career- especially now in New England- he's got some good players, but they overacheive and play as a team and have chemistry- no other coach with that same roster would do the same things.

Maybe a football/basketball comparison doesn't hold, but perhaps the lackluster efforts that come from this team derive from Lenny Wilken's being a bit past his prime as a coach...

This conversation is moot. We all knew ( anybody with decent knowledge of the game) what the hell we were getting when IT hired lenny. We were not gett any defensive guru ( which is what you need with this roster) and we were not getting phil jackson or jerry sloan, popivich ect.

We got a coach who knows the game well, mild mannered, soft in many ways, stuck in his ways, no back-bone no imagination and no say on anything roster related. mind as well say we got a puppet like Don chaney.

Come on... you really think Phil jackson and Isiah can come to grips with anything this franchise is doing.
