My brother works at MSG and he said theres rumblings around the garden that Lenny may be on the verge of getting the boot. Dont know how accurate this is but I still wanted to post it. I also know this isnt new news cause it was reported in the NY Post today

Berman already has an article on Isiah possibly lowering boom on Lenny in today's Post.

With JC's injury and looking at daunting road trip schedule ahead, I wouldn't be surprised if Lenny isn't history in a couple of weeks.

I'm not saying I think this is right, I'm just saying what is likely to happen.

I would be VERY suprised. Lenny was hand picked by Isiah, and when you look at this roster they are a .500 team. Even if they lose Sat they could very easiy be back to 4-5 games over .500 in a couple weeks as the shedule gets easier again.

are you kidding fishmike, a dose of reality, if you will.

We're playing horribly without JC and now Sweets... we're going on a road trip playing the best teams in the West... we could be four, five, six games under .500 by the time we end the road trip and welcome Shaq to MSG.

Short term ain't lookin' good and we know how impatient Isiah can be.

that's not what I saw... I guess someone was goofing on another thread.

If this is our schedule, then I think Lenny's okay for the time being.

My bad.

no way. isiah knows exactly what this team is and who's on it. he's smart enough to know that a great coach won't come to this team with this talent level, and no coach can get a team to perform that much better with this talent level. lenny definitely makes it through the year. now, depending on what type of players isiah brings in for next season, then if the team is still around the .500 mark, lenny will be in trouble.

Isiah doesn't have to act based on the record- he might see things that Lenny does or doesn't do and be unhappy- he obviously has his assistant coaches as eyes and ears-

think about this- and this cuts both ways-

most of the assistants are IT's guys- if the coaching staff ain't getting it done, that implies IT's guys (aguire et al) aren't getting it done.

Yes, Lenny is at the top and has the bullseye on his back.

I posted this in the other Lenny thread. I think it's our best option right now since there are no coaches out there right now and I really don't want the players to re-adjust to a coach with s different style all over again then use it as an excuse for losing.

Here's the plan:
how about Isiah taking control of the team and improving the personal and then hiring Phil Jackson to coach the Knicks. I know for sure that with Isiah running the team at least we'll get something out of this season. Sweetney and Ariza would play a lot more since he loves those guys and can afford to let them grow since he's not going anywhere whereas Lenny can be fired any minute. And H20 would play 20min off the bench. My friend had this idea, I thought it was a VERY good one!

I think if Phil comes here, he'd want to either be GM/Coach or the coach with a GM he has some relationship with- I'm not sure he could get along with Isiah.

Here's the ticket- we dump IT and hire Jordan as GM with Phil the coach!

Stranger things have happened........

Still Isiah has hand picked everyone on the coaching staff. Lenny has handled it has classy as anyone can. I think his coaching is fine. I stood behind Don Chaney too but that was just to give him a chance. Don Chaney proved he is a freaking idiot when it comes to basketball.
Lenny has done nothing but do his job. He's called decent time outs and he has called the right plays down the stretch of close games.....His substitutions have to do with instruction from Isiah for trade purposes. Lenny deserves better. He's been nothing but Classy....BK style.

I may get flap for this but even Pat Riley has been given too much credit during his time in NY.

Riley didn't play anyone but 6 players during the playoffs way back when OJ was killing his wife. Ro Blackman would have helped. Ro was playing his last season but he deserved a chance to try and contribute especially when Riley was calling Starks number all those time. People talk about Starks but Riley called the plays and had the power to sit him for at least 5 minutes to get his mind straight.....

Even JVG gets more respect but was almost fired.....instead Grunfeld was bounced thanks to the politics going on around there by Ewings influence. Grunfield was responsible for one of the greatest playoff runs in history cuz it was his players that did it......they also got JVG an extention.

Give Lenny his due. He came half way through a deadend season and got this team to win enough to reach the playoffs. A team that was only together for a month and change.....

This season.....Houston's injury, JC now hurt, and Timmy's disappearance, Penny's alterior motives, Shandon, etc......Lenny has done a decent job. He hasn't been here no longer than a year.

Phil is gonna want to make more trades and pick his own coaching staff.......that is too much change. Who is to say Phil will work in NY? The Knicks don't have the players he's used to having. IT's a different type of team.

Trade Timmy and KT before Lenny is fired. Fix what's actually wrong with the team.

As long as the other teams in our division continue to play horrible basketball Lenny is here to stay. I think he will make it until the summer then he will so-call retire.

You guys are sick.....Phil Jackson will never work under Isiah.....If phil is hired, Isiah will be fired....

Isiah's best solution is to force Lenny to retire which will creaate an immediate spot for Malone or Agwire to come in and run this team....It never works when the coach and GM are not on the same page...

whoa whoa easy. There will be no talk of trading Steph. We are set at the PG position. What makes you guys think Phil would kill Steph? Why can't phil work under zeke?
